    Thanks. I've cut down from 55 to 29 airports. More straight lines and less hub areas

    my thoughts are that you probably have to many planes. I could never unload and load planes from the hangar and my Gabe crashed quite a bit until I got rid ofa lot of planes. Now I have like 30 mapple, 25 seqm and 30 aero m. How many do you have?

    No they're more of a collectors item like the starship, bobcat, huey, ect..

    They only hold 1 passenger. Hard to be very good with such a limitation.

    I see, so the current event only gives 5 bux.. Anyway, I'm starting to get the hang of this game! #26 in crew with 177 jobs. :D

    Oh and, aeroeagles > pearjets right? Looking to start my class two fleet.

    I haven't seen an upside down plane since mapples came out on Android. At last it seems like it has been that long.

    Hello all, and a Happy MOFO Thursday on this beautiful Spring morning! (OK, cloudy Summer afternoon in Singapore.)

    A fresh new round kicks off both the 7th Silver Yoke, and the 3rd Golden Sequoia Cup. And it starts off not only with a dominating winner, but we got ourselves a new Superhero: Popehatz,who delivered a staggering 15,162 jobs to the Pacific Paradise.

    Popehatz is a digital kind of guy: either he wins, or he's not there. This time he won. Not only that, but he dominated the charts from the get go, so thoroughly even that some eyebrows were raised and a few of the good citizens of TA1ville started wondering how all of this goodness was possible. The new Pope of TA1ville, however, quickly dispelled all doubts by sharing his impressive setup with us, and the hard work that went with it.

    So well-deserved congrats to our new star, and may many more victories follow this one!

    Almost 9,000 jobs (yes, nine thousand) behind Pope we see Freight Train Faye score a healthy second place, bagging another 18 feathers in her cap. Nalazoo completes the podium, coming in only a couple of hundred jobs behind Faye.

    Penguin is finding his footing again and did a respectable fourth place just short of 5,000 jobs and slightly North of SlightlyNorth, who claimed 5th. He is followed by Ktc in 6th and Sheriff Vic in 7th, both somewhere around the 4,000 mark.

    Jmac and Tater finished in a jointly held 8th place, both with exactly the same score of 2,488 jobs. Had they been Asian we would have suspected a conspiracy, as 2,488 is a reasonably lucky number. But since it is established policy at the MOFO Statesman & Herald to only suspect conspiracies if three people finish with exactly the same score, we will let this one go.

    XGarriga aka Lorena completed the Top Ten, which is quite respectable considering it was done with only 8 Aeroeagles. Kudos, Lorena!

    This gives us the following rankings for both SY7 and GS2:

    1st: Popehatz, 25 points;
    2nd: Faye, 18;
    3rd: Nalazoo, 15;
    4th: Penguin, 12;
    5th: North, 10;
    6th: Ktc24, 8;
    7th: Vic, 6;
    8th: Jmac and Tater, 3;
    10th: XGarriga, 1.

    SY7 will have nine races; GS2 has 26. Alea iacta est the Romans would say: the dice have been thrown and we're off to a good start. May the best TA1er win!

    1st: Gus, 526 1/3 (1st, 526 1/3);
    2nd: Faye, 481 (2nd, 463);
    3rd: North, 364 (3rd, 354);
    4th: Penguin, 299 1/3 (5th, 287 1/3);
    5th: Number1Ump, 288 (4th, 288);
    6th: Nalazoo, 269 1/3 (6th, 254 1/3);
    7th: Vic, 248 (8th, 242);
    8th: Nokitano, 245 (7th, 245);
    9th: Snowbird, 221 (9th, 221);
    10th: Ktc24, 194 (10th, 186).

    Prospective Podium stays the same, although Faye is now approaching Gus. We at the M S & H think the Swarm Master is playing his cards close to his chest, relying on his ability to pick up more points if anyone gets too close. But if push comes to shove, will he be able to hold off Freight Train Faye? Whatever happens, we will be there to report on it, boyz and girlz!

    Meanwhile, the Penguin is doing the 'jump Ump' thing, claiming 4th; 'Zoo defends 6th; and Sheriff Vic seems to have decided that 7th place is his. He lost it to 'Zoo four days ago, and now claims it back from Nokitano, whose long inactivity has now cost him two places in a row.

    Snowbird is still OK in 9th, but from behind we see Ktc approaching fast. Ktc has been gaining on average 8 points on Snowbird, and is now 27 points behind. That's four more events at this rate. Snowbird, beware!

    Castle already dropped out of sight and into 11th last race, and now sits at 184 points. Behind him, Tater is knocking on the door. Our Minnesota potato farmer has 18 points to go before jumping the Castle walls, and is also gaining at an 8 points rate.

    In other words, plenty of developments to come, and be sure to keep watching this space!

    See y'all in Rio,

    Cheers,
    M.

    How's my game strategy?

    I recently got back into Pocket Planes while on a boring road trip. I had stopped playing a while ago because once I got some larger planes and went from LA to Tokyo, I literally asked myself, ok now what? and answered with, I guess I'm done.

    But I find that its a nice game to pick up and mindlessly put little bitizens on a plane, it relaxes me. However I can't help but think that my current strategy is lacking, and here's why:

    I guess my strategy is the 25% bonus. I have around 17 planes, (7 or so kangaroos for layover collecting, 8 various aeroeagles and 2 sequoias to deliver said layovers(thinking of putting in my Cyclone at the next plane slot anyone think its a waste?)) I use the Hub method, LA, Chicago, karachi, and soeul. a few kangaroos in each to collect up layovers. But I can't seem to make a whole lotta money. The most I can expect if I load up all my planes is 100G profit.

    I really only update the planes twice a day so getting to the next slot @ 1600000 should take me a little over 2 weeks + money to make sure my planes can fly after the purchase.

    I max my planes efficiency, I upgrade the hub airports, I cut down on unnecessary airports. I see NO reason to go into South america, africa, or australia and thats a shame I think. (quick sidenote, if I take a flight from LA to Africa, and I have to connect in a few cities, the airport doesnt measure the miles at a radial distance from LA. I think pocket planes has that wrong no?) It just seems like to get further takes too much time to make it fun.

    And I've read about the blimp bux method, but to me, thats not in the spirit of the game. And with the recent Honolulu Event, and that Penguin guy having only those 2 airports open, I ask, didnt you make a killing? why have alot of airports at all?

    The aeros I was using weren't upgraded and they were making 654 coins per trip since they flew back empty.

    I advertised to Honolulu for more numbers but that cuts into profit. I think I was making about 150,000 coins a day (minus 41,000 to advertise twice a day).

    I think after the event I had made around 250,000 coins and close to 300 bux.

    But to fully upgrade a class 3 city you spend 51,000 to buy. Then 102,000 to upgrade to 2 then 153,000 to upgrade to 3. Basically 300,000. You sell it for 153,000.

    Then you move along to the next event and have to buy the next city an upgrade it.

    The way I do things, I end up making about 100k coins and 300 bux per event.

    For Honolulu, I had more passengers showing up for the event than cargo, so I switched out a few M's for P only. I normally run the P/C in pairs, though not always. It really depends on what I see spawning the most for event jobs and then I switch out planes accordingly.

    I stopped playing Pocket Planes like 4 months ago. I guess it's time to retake it too.

    Right so on Tuesday I got to level 40, and added Recife, and Windhoek. So my next cities are going to be Belem, and Port Elizabeth. Then Brasilia, Al Fashir, Lima, Casablanca, Georgetown, Mombasa, Panama City, Livingstone, Minsk, Quito, it is going to take me a few years to complete this game. I wonder if they may do a first anniversary update on or around June 14.

    24 hours without a post is ridiculous.

    Other than that I have nothing else to say.

    That's a lot of smaller airports. How many airports do you have? And is your goal to own each and every airport on the map? :)

    I can't believe I've been playing this game for a year. Anniversary is coming up soon, right? In June?
