Sorry, is slower cheaper to fly?? If so, does upgrading the speed of your plane then cost you more to fly it?? Thanks. So the Star Ship is doubly cursed! It is heavy and fast - making it unprofitable to fly!!
I skipped this event, because I'm doing local events (not the crew event). I'll be back for the next event, if it isn't a Class 2/3 in North America. #
Nooo, it's because there are a lot of class 3 cities near the city event, and if the prize is only bux, i don't like to be playing the game every five minutes.
I don't like events with a quick round trip turnaround time cuz my game freezes up each time something gets delivered or lands. I think I prefer the 20-40 min turnaround time events. On the up side you can Bux boost your plane for 1 Bux immediately after taking off, without having to wait for it to deliver its load and Bux boosy when the plane is on its way back. It was the same with Lobito, I did a bit of Bux boosting there. Seems ridiculous to do it for Philly when the turnaround time is a mere 2 minutes! LOL I'm still playing around with the P/C planes. I definitely do not like using them to bring layovers to NY, and they (clouds) seem to take FOREVER to fill up. Too much management required, trying to remember whether I need to unload P planes or C planes to try to balance the layovers for my M planes doing the final deliveries to Philadelphia. The fish must be sweeter in your pond. You know, like how the grass is greener on the other side? It's nothing new that I haven't seen others do in previous events. Sorry to see you go. Maybe you'll return after a little break from the game. I find this a nice diversion to fill idle time while waiting ... while standing in the slow line at Costco, waiting to pick up the little one, during drives (when I'm the passenger). I'd get a lot of PP time if I still commuted by public transportation. Alas, I'm usually the one driving and can't even squeeze in flinging just one plane while at a long stop light cuz the game takes so darn long to load up.
Thoughts and Questions about strategy. I guess I understand about the weight, speed, and profit relationships now. So it is clear that the Kangaroo, AeroEagle, and Sequoia are the most efficient planes in their respective classes. That is, if one excludes the special planes. The hot air balloon is also extremely efficient, but with only one passenger and that extremely slow speed, it is challenging to use if one wants to accomplish any goals. The blimp obviously has the hot air balloon beat due to it's 4 slot capacity. It's also very lightweight (albeit not zero) which makes it extremely efficient, however it is so slow that it again makes it painful to accomplish anything. The Mapple is very popular, I guess in part due to its elusiveness on iPhones. But it's not really more efficient than a Kangaroo. Its greater distance must outweigh any lost efficiency. The Sea Knight may be the best all-around class 1 machine. It must be only fractionally less efficient than a Kangaroo, but it's five slot capacity makes it very helpful in delivering to class 1 airports during global events - even with it's passenger-cargo imbalance. Just use cargo-only planes or Herculeses to feed the Sea Knights. On the other end of the spectrum, the Hercules itself is fairly efficient due to its slower speed. But the Sequoia-M is definitely the king of Class 3 efficiency. The Cloudliner-M is much scorned due to its wide passenger-cargo imbalance. However I have kept two of mine flying, in part because they are helpful in passenger-only global events. When not involved in these, I keep them parked in Tokyo or Los Angeles and wait until they are filled. I then fly them with a net of somewhere around 17,000 coins. That's not bad for very little effort! Now someone stated that they don't like Tokyo because it sometimes takes an extra stop. I guess my major question is, so what? So what if I make an extra stop in Xi'an? Is it more efficient to keep the stops at a minimum, or make an extra stop at an airport that gives you a straighter flight path??
Thanks Merlion! I think I might have the missing part in question. Was in a rush trying to get the Little One out the door for school so I closed all the popups really quickly without reading them, I'm not completely sure but I think you may have sent me an extra part. I don't remember what I had from before so not sure which flavor it might have been. Just let me know which one is missing and I'll forward to KTC. At 1D 15H: 1. 3681 Gus 2. 3008 KTC 3. 2904 Zoo 4. 2858 Penguin 5. 2178 North 6. 1587 Teodor 7. 1536 Faye 8. 1393 Sdo 9. 1188 Rebartch 10. 677 Tater I'll send you something... Yes! Also thought the Bitz should wear cap & gowns. I also added the link to the Strategies post (2nd link in my sig).
I see a lot of new faces here. WELCOME to all our new visitors to ths forum. In case you haven't noticed, many of us have useful Pocket Planes info linked in our signatures. So check them out when you have an idle moment from flinging planes. That pretty much sums it up. Kangaroos, Sea Knights, Mapples and Aeroeagles are permanent fixtures in my fleet for use in class 1 and class 2 events. Sequoias and Cyclones round out the fleet. I'm starting to play around with the Cloudliners, but I find them very frustrating. I'm waiting for the day when they update the game to allow us IOS folks to buy Mapples ...
Got mine, thanks very much. A very rare top ten appearance for me -with the recent amazing levels of competition it doesn't happen often. Still here, still flying, still mostly lurking, and always always loving your amazing reports.
Thank you Faye. Thanks to you, Nokitano and one i dont remember helping me with class 3 planes im still able to get loads to Philadelphia. I got 6 sequoias and one c-130 going east-west and 5 aeros sending loads and collecting bux.
Awesome, I was hoping to find tips like this here. Just curious, what level unlocks the Kangaroo, AeroEagle, and Sequoia? I'm only 4, so I'm sure it'll be a while, but just to know when to look out for them. Also, are event locations random? I started in Japan, and can't afford Philadelphia so doubt I'll make this event. Lastly, there's no way I can trade parts with Android friends right?
Kangaroo - Level 7. Aeroeagle - Level 16. Sequoia - Level 22. Yes they are (as in there's usually no rhyme or reason to their location) - but once it starts, it stays there for the next 3.5 days. No - Mobage and iOS' GameCentre are incompatible with each other.
