Congrats to you as well Yitzc77!! I have only crossed 10k once and it was SO much work. Can't even fathom 20k+!
Congrats y'all! Gus for an exceptional 20k, and all the 10kers. I even saw nokitano doing 16k! (Dude have your Blockheads been eaten by sharks? btw we really need to do a multiplayer in BH!) I think Merlion will confirm that this was the highest top 10 ever for TA1! (cumulative and entry). And I guess a new overall high score for the crew. It's funny we don't even bother to record the crew #position and jobs lol Waiting to hear more about your strategies! Although I'm guessing a dozen eastern Asia class 3 mixed with hoards of Cloudliners P/C Gus did you use a Cloudliner swarm
Yes, this one was fast paced! I had to claw my way up the charts after a late start due to some travel over the weekend.
WHAT?!?!?! I had no idea we were getting a Concorde part. I assumed it was another boring Bux-only event. And I dismissed the popup without reading it. Gus, I punted a few parts your way, let me know if something doesn't match up, I may have lost track of parts between all the scrolling.
Tried to send you a PM to set up a trade of my extra controls for your body but GC kicked it back. Let me know if you still need it. JM
Crazy MOFOs, China edition Holy MOFOs, Batman!! (I'll only use this one once. Please shoot me if I do it again.) So Gus made a run for it. And boy, what a run it was. We already knew that everything is bigger and badder in China these days, but this one takes the cake. The Swarm Master hauled a staggering number of 21,600 jobs to Xi'an, and this makes him easily the biggest and baddest MOFO of all time. Well done, Gus! Setting the record was not the only thing Gus did. Behind him he pulled a train of other heavy hitters who, in trying to keep up with the Swarmster's astonishing pace, cleared the 10k limit one after another like there's no tomorrow. First one to follow was Nokitano with nearly 17,000 jobs. This number alone would've been enough for a fat 60 points headline on the front page of the MOFO Statesman & Herald (above the fold) in normal times. But normal times these are not. We're talking the kind of off-the-charts situation where 17k is called 'a decent number two'. Amazing. Third came Ktc, with 12,620 also well over the 10k limit. This completes the podium for Xi'an, which shockingly means that Yitz's clearing the 10k limit was not enough for even a podium place. Yitz cleared the 10k by 720 jobs and called it a day. We don't blame him. Well done, all! 5th Came North. Remember, this is the guy who used to top the charts if he was in the mood. He must've been in some kind of mood, given the fact that he did 9,459 jobs, but evidently couldn't keep up with the new batch of Heroes in 1st through 4th. North ended up throwing his Northern hat (we're guessing a knitted woollen cap with ear flaps) into the ring, slightly short (sorry, could't resist) of the magic finish line. Tater, Green Paper, Jmac and Nalazoo made up the rest of the Top Ten, in that order. They were relegated to a second act in Xi'an despite the fact that each and every one of them scored way into the 8,000s. Let that sink in for a moment. If the M S & H's editorial offices weren't located in the tropics we would take off our hats right now. As it stands, we're not wearing any hats, and taking anything else off would get us into trouble with the Law. Interesting is the more than 2,000 jobs wide gap between the Top Ten and the ROU (Rest Of Us). Faye heads up the latter with a bit over 6,000, followed by Jeroti, Figment, Penguin (ah, there he is!) and Stogey Jerry. Despite his humble placing in today's standings, the M S & H have heard that the Penguin is back in action and very busy rearranging his fleet. So don't discount the polar bird on account of his 14th place: he will be baaaaack. (Merlion is now trying to erase the terrible image of Arnold Schwarzenegger in sunglasses and a penguin suit from the mind's eye. Argh.) Finally, one more funny factoid about this frenetic fight: despite the humongous results from TA1's heavy hitter squad we came in 3rd place, after the TA crew, who took 1st as usual by their sheer number of players, and one other.*) Sheriff Vic did some spying and came up with a clue about the identity of this mysterious second crew (this is why we have him as our sheriff): apparently our pistolero friends who used to mess with the MOFOs have gotten together and are now applying their nefarious methods to keep TA1 from 2nd place. Good luck, guys! We hope you're happy with your second place. No skin off our noses, as they say. But we have kept you waiting too long, dear readers. What does all of this means for the 6th Silver Yoke, now over halfway done? 1st: SlightlyNorth, 93 points (1st, 83); 2nd: ktc24, 78 (2nd, 63); 3rd: Gus, 47 (5th, 22); 4th: Tater, 36 (3rd, 28); 5th: Popehatz, 25 incl. 1st place (4th, 25); 6th: XGarriga, 25 incl. 3rd place (7th, 21); 7th: Nalazoo, 23 (6th, 22); 8th: Penguin, 20 incl. 2nd place(8th, 20); 9th: Jmac, 20 incl. 5th place (10th, 18); 10th: Nokitano, 19 (20th, 1). North, by virtue of his hegemony earlier on, stays firmly in the saddle; Ktc conslidates his second place with 15 well earned points; and Gus retakes 3rd with his incredible win. Gus kicks Tater from the prospective podium and there are now 9 points in between. Popehatz's single win is still good enough for 5th, and he shares his number of points with Lorena, who wins a place and is now 6th. Nalazoo is Lorena's victim, followed by the Penguin with 20 points. They're only 3 points apart. Penguin shares his number of points with Jmac. Nokitano propels himself to a close 10th, with 19 points. Behind the Illustrious Ten the distances are equally close: Spineth sits only one point behind Nokitano, Vic lurks 2 points behind Spineth, Castle follows only one point behind Vic, and Faye and the Icon are yet another point down the line. Yitz and Yogi, also proven to be capable of hitting double digit points results, are right behind with 12 points. With 303 points still to be doled out in the remaining three races, nothing has been decided throughout the lineup, all the way down to 18th or so. Multiple fights are still on! The M S & H doesn't know many places that are as exciting as the MOFOs, rest assured. Meanwhile, the 2nd Golden Sequoia, 36 races down, now slowly draws to a great finale. Here are the standings: 1st: Gus, 323 1/3 (1st, 298 1/3); 2nd: Penguin, 247 1/3 (2nd, 247 1/3); 3rd: North, 217 (3rd, 207); 4th: Nalazoo, 198 1/3 (4th, 197 1/3); 5th: Faye, 174 (5th, 174); 6th: ktc, 152 (6th, 137); 7th: Snowbird, 115 (7th, 115); 8th: Tater, 107 (9th, 99); 9th: Spineth, 105 (8th, 105); 10th: Castle, 85 (10th, 85). We have a winner! Since there are only 75 points left to be won and Gus is exactly 76 points ahead of the Penguin, we can now, 3 races to go, crown our Champion: Gus, our congratulations, a well deserved win! Gus takes over the Golden Sequoia from Ump, who was the proud winner of the inaugural one with 265 points. Gus clinches his victory with 323-odd points and still 3 races to go. In sports commentator's circles we call that supremacy (because it sounds good and means that people will tune in next time in hopes of hearing it again). In a word, wow. Behind the Swarmster the fight's still on. North is now 30 points behind the Penguin, and you can be sure he's dreaming of slightly toasted polar birds as we speak. 'Zoo is maintaining in 4th, and Faye has done such a ood job earlier on that even now she's firmly holding on to 4th. Ktc is approaching fast, though. he's been gaining on average about 15 points per race on Faye, so with three to go he can still bridge the current 22 points gap. 'Zoo will more difficult to catch; Ktc's scoring advantage over her is about 12, for a 46 points gap. Unlikely. Doable, but unlikely. Snowbird stays in 7th, Tater wins a place at Spineth's cost in 8th, but the points difference is still only 2 so time shall tell. Castle brings up the rear, and is (or should be) quite hot under the collar since Yitz sits now exactly one (1) point behind him. Watch your back, Castle Man! The Droids are coming! Before you know it, all your base are belong to them! Lastly, the Platinum Concorde, which celebrates its 50th race in Tokyo and is now approaching is first half year mark: 1st: Gus, 504 1/3 (1st, 479 1/3); 2nd: Faye, 405 (2nd, 405); 3rd: North, 313 (3rd, 303); 4th: Ump, 288 (4th, 288); 5th: Penguin, 277 1/3 (5th, 277 1/3); 6th: Nokitano, 245 (7th, 227); 7th: Vic, 236 (6th, 236); 8th: Nalazoo, 227 1/3 (8th, 226 1/3); 9th: Snowbird, 221 (9th, 221); 10th: Castle, 184 (10th, 184). Top Five remains the same, with very little movement except that Gus is consolidating his lead. He now leads the pack by almost 100 points. I hate to say this, Gus, but we're aching for some competition here! Nokitano takes back the 6th place he lost not so long ago, from Vic; and 'Zoo, Snowbird and Castle remain in place. Castle now has Ktc 22 points behind him, with a 12 points average score difference over the last few races. And Tater sits only 2 points behind Ktc. Get going, Castle, or it's a matter of time! The Concorde knows no mercy. With this we leave you to revel in the spectacular results from the depths of China. But do not revel too long, for Golden Week in Tokyo is waiting and the competition is again heating up. Oh, those MOFOs. There's nothing even remotely like it. Cheers, M. *EDIT: As it turns out, we ended up in number two position after all, clearing the #3 crew by 15,000 jobs. But the remark stands: the MOFOs stay clear of hacks. We respect other people's methods, but in terms of MOFO results we don't hold much truck with numbers that are achieved by way of hacking, or fooling the system with double updates.
I knew that. No idea how the mistake came about. Probably thinking about somebody else while I wrote that. Sorry Cheers, M.
Thanks Merlion, awesome read as usual. TA1 actually pulled ahead and came in 2nd globally with 165k jobs. We try to record the global rankings in the SUCK, column I1, just hover mouse over cell to see the comment. Global Ranking with 6M remaining 1) 525,418 2) 165,228 TA1 3) 155,954 4) 92,394 5) 43,508 6) 40,687 7) 30,894 8) 26,954 9) 16,304 10) 15,175
Yeah us Thks Faye, I didn't notice that the global standings were regularly put in the spreadsheet. Thks to all who contribute to maintain it clean and up to date btw We have a great collaborative tool here! I know I don't often put leaderboards data in it
Missed that too. I now know where to look, thanks! I'll add a little edit note to the post, accordingly. Last Monday I edited the whole post due to the last minute changes in the SUCK but generally I try to avoid that. A post is a post And Faye, once again: many thanks for your efforts in keeping the SUCK up to date! Couldn't do the M S & H without that. Cheers, M.
Reading the M S & H makes me want to do Tokyo too.. Anyway not this time, but a time will come very soon...
Family, work and more importantly () both Pixel People and Block Fortress updates as well as Star Command out. Sorry guys, I was planning to play Pocket Planes but I just won't have time for Tokyo!
looks like nimblebit isn't going to get back to me. really sucks losing my level, sequoias and bux. 3rd time restarting this journey, always start in the US. I think it'll be Europe this time, wish me luck. long live TA1
Thinking...if all newspapers were written with the same gusto & bravado as the MH&S, the news would be much more exciting to read I know I'm always eager to see what the writer says about me. I love seeing my name in lights. Isn't there an award or two we can bestow upon our beloved MH&S? If not...there should be!!
