That was me. I have to add you as a friend again. I lost all my friends about a month ago on GC. I've added a few TA1 people back.
Here's my not so exciting finish for Baghdad: #38 with 90 jobs. No GC friends around me on the leaderboard.
I see a Seq M available in the market so I quick Bux Boost an Aeroeagle and send it to the hanger. Go back to the market and the Seq M is no longer available What luck!
Where is our GODFATHER? I'm marking DRAMA-J as #14 for Baghdad (in the SUCK). #14 ... 1754 jobs ... El Carmo Grande #15 ... 1562 jobs ... Zekeamf Drama-J had 1626 jobs 1 day ago. The only unaccounted spot is #12. (So final job count is between 2047 and 3752. I entered 3750 as the job count for sorting purposes.) Just accepted your GC FR. Are you buying whole planes from the Market? It's more economical to buy 3 separate parts and then build the plane.
I have a lot of Bux so that along with my impatience yes, I've been buying whole planes I still have like 12,500 Bux left
I knew it must have been you by process of elimination ... sure helps to jot down interim job counts.
Money MOFOs Last Wednesday history repeated itself: someone put up a big sign 'Money transport in Baghdad', and everybody started transporting money to Iraq like there's no tomorrow. Fortunately Sheriff Vic kept a watchful eye on all of this money going South. By his reckoning we collectively did more than 60,000 jobs, of which roughly half were cargo. If we reckon half of that cargo was actual money, we ended up transporting roughly $500 billion. Not bad for a couple of days' work. The money may have gone South, but the victory went North. Maybe only slightly North, but definitely North. And not without a fight. North's victory was closely contested by Ktc and Castle. Especially Ktc gave North a hard time, following his every step and taking turns in leading the pack. Never before have we seen such a closely fought duel. Dust rose only moments before the end of the match, and out of the clouds rose the victorious North. North was probably so busy keeping Ktc off his back that he forgot to pay attention to the Superhero Trophy. He finshed with 9,108 jobs, a mere 900 short of the coveted trophy that so many tried to get but so few can boast. Ktc finished 78 jobs behind North, only 13 Aeroeagle flights short of victory. Castle completed the podium, with a very respectable 8,800 jobs. Tater came in 4th, slightly over 6,000, and was followed by Jmac, Spineth, 'Zoo, Faye, Penguin, and Sdo62, all roughly 300 jobs apart. The entry ticket to the Top Ten was 4,254, more than twice the overall average up till now (2,069 jobs). That average, by the way, has been slowly edging up lately. MOFO Top Tens are getting more exclusive these days. Thus was concluded the second race in the 6th Silver Yoke. It now looks like this: 1st: SlightlyNorth, 50 points (1st, 25); 2nd: ktc24, 36 (2nd, 18); 3rd: Tater, 20 (6th, 8); 4th: Castle and Lorena, 15, both with one 3rd place; 6th: Faye and Jmac, 14, both with one 5th and one 8th; 8th: Yogismith, 12 (4th, 12); 9th: Spineth, 8 with one 6th place; 10th: Nalazoo, 8 with one 7th and one 9th. North reigns supreme. He hasn't dropped a point in two races. Ktc sits firmly in second, with both second places under his belt. 14 Points difference doesn't mean everything; after all, there are still six races to go in this cup. But North has won precious early points and ktc will have to fight hard to still have a chance at winning the Silver Yoke. Tater climbs three places and takes third; Castle and Lorena follow at a 5 points distance, with Faye and Jmac on their heels. And even Yogi (12 points), Spineth and Nalazoo (both 8) are not far behind. The big fight is yet to come. Icon waits in the wings with 6 points; with a bit more effort he'll make the Illustrious Ten. Although, TheFantasyIcon is not in a very comfortable position. With 2 points right behind him sits the Penguin. He's been a bit burnt out lately, but if he gets unburnt, Icon beware. If one of the next few races you hear some low rumble right behind you, run for cover: that'll be the Polar Swarm, about to take off and run right over you. And I'm not even starting about Gus. Gus who? The more senior crew members among us will remember him. He won several cups and Superhero trophies, and was the Big Kahuna in the Ta1 crew. Now he goes around in the streets unnoticed, and even Icon the saloonkeeper doesn't give him free drinks any more. Gus, where art thou? Will we ever see you again? Talking about Gus, here's the 2nd Golden Sequoia, approaching its conclusion, also six races away: 1st: Gus, 276 1/3 (1st, 276 1/3); 2nd: Penguin, 229 1/3 (2nd, 227 1/3); 3rd: Nalazoo, 183 1/3 (3rd, 177 1/3); 4th: North, 174 and several first places (5th, 149); 5th: Faye, 174 and no first places (4th, 170); 6th: Snowbird, 115 (6th, 115); 7th: ktc24, 110 (7th, 92); 8th: Spineth, 95 (8th, 87); 9th: Tater, 91 (10th, 79); 10th: Castle, 85 (12th, 70). Penguin the Kingslayer is stil approaching Gus, but oh so slowly. Is the Polar Bird applying death by a thousand cuts to the Swarm Master? Or is he too cautious? It may be the latter. For Merlion's mind's eye sees Gus waiting in his lair, watching the Penguin approach with eagle's eyes. And when he comes too close but not sooner, with one fell swoop of his mighty swarm he will lash out and regain the lead, this time for keeps. Will the Penguin win the prestigious Cup? 47 points separate him from the lead, with 6 races i.e. 150 points to go. Keep your eyes peeled. And don't worry, the MOFO Statesman & Herald will be there to report the story. A little bit further down the Northster is continuing his march. He has now taken 4th place from Faye, and the end of his journey is not in sight. He is now threatening Nalazoo in 3rd, and roughly 100 points separate him from the lead, so Gus is not even safe from him. Faye drops to 5th, Snowbird, Ktc and Spineth remain in 6th-8th. Tater wins another place from 10th to 9th; and Castle regains the Top Ten once again in 10th. It is a pleasure to watch his heroic fight to stay in the ranks of the famous. Castle leaves Lynsie in his wake, 5 points behind him. And at 8 more points' distance follows Yitz, for whom 8 points are a mere trifle. The lower half of the Top Ten is far from decided as well. Lastly, the Concorde Superleague: 1st: Gus, 457 1/3 (1st, 457 1/3); 2nd: Faye, 405 (2nd, 401); 3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 288); 4th: North, 270 (5th, 245); 5th: Penguin, 259 1/3 (4th, 257 1/3); 6th: Nokitano, 226 (6th, 226); 7th: Snowbird, 221 (7th, 221); 8th: Vic, 220 (8th, 220); 9th: Nalazoo, 212 1/3 (9th, 206 1/3); 10th: Castle, 184 (10th, 169). Gus' position at the top of the league is still unthreatened, as is Faye's in second. But here too North continues his march, winning another place to 4th; he now has Ump in his crosshairs, only 18 points ahead of him. Ump has not been competing lately, which means North just needs a second place in New York to take 3rd; it seems a matter of time. Penguin consequently drops to 5th. Will he overcome this blow? We will have to see. All others stay in position, either by firmly defending ('Zoo and Castle) or not defending at all (Nokitano, Snowbird, and Sheriff Vic). Beware, people! You may now get away with it. But in sports commentator's circles this is known as living on borrowed time: it won't last forever. Behind Castle, the gap with Copper now widens to 62 points. Ktc is 2 points behind that, and needs to score 64 points to get into the Top Ten. This may not be a big problem for him. Same for Tater, another 12 points behind him, and Spineth, another 2 points. Stay tuned for the Big Apple results. There is a lot more fun ahead! Cheers, M.
LOL I am still here! Been on vacation! Been having just enough time to do a little bux sitting and get the free bux prize moolah Doing a little testing of a new world event strategy. Still needs a little tweaking. Or perhaps less sleeping as I woke up in third this AM. Right now the swarm is in the hangar as many of my ROOS are closing in 1 million miles. I figured I would give them a rest!
So we've seen Roos swarms, Mapple swarms... Has anybody tried a 100%Cloudliner swarm for a class 3 event? Imagine 50 Clouds in the air, each with 17 cargo or passengers in it. Boom 850 jobs the Bux cost of switching would be huge though
I'm using 100% cloudliners for this event. But only 14 of them. I'm using LA, Chicago, Mex city, London, Paris, RDJ, and Lima. All fully upgraded. (That cost a ton of bux) I'm flying em back empty. Chicago makes money, along with La, and Mexico City. The others lose between 500 and 1500 coins. Since the La, mex and Chicago flights fill faster and make more flights its kind of a break even operation coin wise. I flew for about 4 hours yesterday and did 1400 jobs.
I've deployed a 100% Concorde Swarm yesterday, for the New York event. Had 14 Concordes plying the LA - London - Tokyo axis with jobs for NY, plus one Concorde shuttling between Chicago and NY, for a couple of hours. It does work, although its a bit tiring since they keep arriving at their next destination every minute or so. Return flight between Chicago and NY is less than 5 mins. Big problem is the pax/cargo imbalance. Especially mucks up the NY Chitown thing, since you run out of pax and need several refreshes to do the next run. Plus, it costs a lot of money, especially the long distance flights. Which is not so much of a problem if you have near-unlimited coins of course. But the biggest drawback is the turnaround speed. Especially for someone who's used to flying Blimps. It did get me to about 500 jobs inside an hour or two, though. Even including some bux collecting Cheers, M.
Traffic jam! @penguin: I guess you're using P/C Clouds? I reopened Mexico and Chicago, have paired Clouds doing round trips there and in LA. They're speed/range upgraded, it costs an insane amount of Bux lol. I can't imagine having 50, although... @Merlion: going from Blimps to Concorde must be pretty weird I got 2 in the air for fun, but honestly the imbalnce renders them useless on a bigger scale imho. Edit: you'll notice that all my Bux planes are in the air for NY This smells like a 10k podium race
Arg....worked yesterday, then long drive home. Missed Day 1 of a Class 3 event. Going to be hard to climb the ladder. Pulling out all my Cyclones & Cloudliners. NYC - here I come!
