Baghdad ... this is exactly the kind of event I hate doing ... there's too much "babysitting" required, which leads to PP burnout. Over 2k jobs with only 13 planes ... that's pretty impressive!
Orlando MOFOs (OMOFOs) Last Sunday the TA1 crew moved to Orlando, or Mickeytown, as it is known to some. It is a place that's teeming with giant entertainment parks and its main reason for existence is relaxing. This was taken quite literally by some of the old folks from TA1ville. On benches in the shade we could see the likes of Gus, Penguin, Sheriff Vic, Ump, Spineth, Yitz, and other elderly citizens napping with lolling heads, or watching the younger uns plus the still active members of the old guard playing around and flinging planes. And fling they did. Old North was slightly distracted (yep, SlightlyDistractedNorth) by the Disney characters running around pretending to be happy to see him, which caused him to finish 1,700 jobs short of the 10k mark he would otherwise have reached. Even the entry ticket into the Orlando Top Ten was more than 3,000 jobs. Flinging was taken seriously. Since Orlando was the first race in the 6th Silver Yoke we'll publish the race results as-is, giving us the opening ranking for the new Cup: 1st: SlightlyNorth, 8,392 jobs; 2nd: ktc24, 7,164; 3rd: Lorena, 5,115; 4th: Yogismith, 4,639; 5th: Faye, 4,293; 6th: Tater, 4,258; 7th: Thefantasyicon, 3,463; 8th: Jmac, 3.430; 9th: Nalazoo, 3,199 10th: sdo62, 3,145. North killed it this time. Congrats, North! Up-and-comers ktc and Lorena completed the podium in his wake. Yogismith, another new talent, took 4th; good ole' Faye conquered 5th; Tater 6th; and Icon, who recently increased his fleet, took 7th. If he keeps going on like this we shall have to start calling him RealityIcon. The Crew Rank Update Devils (CRUDs) favoured the ever-complaining Icon for once, for Jmac finished behind him by only 33 jobs. 'Zoo and sdo completed the Top Ten, also just a few jobs apart. The 2nd Golden Sequoia now has 7 races to go. This is what it looks like: 1st: Gus, 276 1/3 (1st, 276 1/3); 2nd: Penguin, 227 1/3 (2nd, 227 1/3); 3rd: Nalazoo, 177 1/3 (3rd, 177 1/3); 4th: Faye, 170 (4th, 160); 5th: North, 149 (5th, 124); 6th: Snowbird, 115 (6th, 115); 7th: ktc24, 92 (9th, 74); 8th: Spineth, 87 (7th, 87); 9th: Lynsie, 80 (8th, 80); 10th: Tater, 79 (11th, 71); First through 6th remain pretty much the same, with North now approaching Faye's position in 4th. Faye will have to start flingin' if she wants to remain there. Snowbird stays in 6th; and ktc is on a roll. Two events ago he was still in 12th, now 7th. You can see him rolling up his sleeves to catch up with Snowbird, and given the fact that it's still 7 races to go, even North, Faye and 'Zoo are within reach. Go ktc! (You'd really wish he had chosen a sexier name before he became famous.) Spineth and Lynsie drop a place thanks to ktc's prowess. And Tater overtakes Yitz, kicking him unceremoniously out of the Top Ten. Yitz the Droid is 7 points behind Tater, so let's see how he'll deal with this. And don't forget Castle. Two points behind Yitz, 9 points behind Tater, and a Singaporean's grit and determination. Trust me, this ain't over yet! On to the infamous Concorde League, where the great names of TA1 history live: 1st: Gus, 457 1/3 (1st, 457 1/3); 2nd: Faye, 401 (2nd, 391); 3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 288); 4th: Penguin, 257 1/3 (4th, 257 1/3); 5th: North, 245 (7th, 220); 6th: Nokitano, 226 (5th, 226); 7th: Snowbird, 221 (6th, 221); 8th: Vic, 220 (8th, 220); 9th: Nalazoo, 206 1/3 (9th, 204 1/3); 10th: Castle, 169 (10th, 169). Pretty much the same as last time, except for North who's still storming the ranks, knowing no bounds. North Unchained, we're tempted to say. We haven't seen the end of this yet. He's leaving Nokitano and Snowbird in his wake, and has a burnt out polar bird in his crosshairs. If Penguin doesn't recover soon, the North's icy fleet will get the better of him, and before we know it it'll be Ump who's thumped. The crew is now off to Baghdad, transporting planeloads of money. Other ppl take breaks, come and go, but she's about the most consistent flyer. Ms Faye, how do you keep from PP burnout ? Transporting money out of Baghdad? The TA1 crew has broken into the 40 thieves' den. Ali baba used donkeys, which limited the amount he could bring out. The modern people use planes. Oh wait, wrong scenario since we're bringing money INTO baghdad, not out.
Love that Newspaper, it's the only one I read. Makes me want to stop my bux sitting early. My guess is I'll have the bux needed within two weeks, so I'll hold out a little longer. Good luck in Baghdad, what do they need so much money for anyway?
LOL I didn't see your name carefully and I thought it was posted by Vic (i.e. sheriff Vic Sark). And I was wondering what he needs bux for with his I don't know how many slots now. THEN i looked at the name again and realized it's you. How many bux are you holding out for? I'm also having bux sitting in the slackest way.
Hey mate! Still at 54 slots. I play occasionally, but managed to crawl back to 45k Bux (and gathered less than 10m coins during that!) I guess I'll do one final 65k exchange eventually. That would get me to 63 slots (only 9 slots more, meaning more than 7k Bux per new slot ) Problem is after that, even the Bux value drops dramatically because of the cash ceiling of 2 point sthg billion. the next 65k bux exchange would only add 5 more slots. So I guess 60/70 slots is probably the max anyone will get to. Problem is, if even Bux collecting loses its interest, it's kind of an endgame.
I'm at 22k, holding out for 42k that will give me 50 slots. I'm collecting at the moment between 2-3k bux a day. If I didn't have to work I could do even 4k.
A small update: I entered the top 20 with my GC account! At the moment i have 203 jobs done. Mobage account is with 119 jobs at place 24
I'm having a hard time keeping up this time around. I think i was up around 7th,, but dropped to 9th while working today, and though i flew lots before dinner, dropped to 10th over dinner. It seems more competitive this time, but maybe i just can't keep up.

I see you in the Top 10! KTC & North keep flip flopping (only 50 jobs separate them!!!) ... there's no telling who will end up on top by Saturday night, but I'm guessing North has the time zone advantage unless KTC is a night owl. Still feeling under the weather. Sriracha sauce is my friend ... it clears up the sinuses and numbs everything else. Just had noodle soup with a generous squirt of the stuff.

Haha, I knew I wasn't up against the swarm! I've been pretty happy with locking down 6th or 7th place recently so 3rd and 4th is kind of uncharted territory for me.
25 hours to go and I'm in 8th with 3200 jobs. SDO and Faye are breathing down my neck and I'm sure there are other good players right behind them. Suddenly my hope of a top nine with 5K jobs looks like it won't happen. I'll plug away and see what happens. If my laundry doesn't get done and my house doesn't get cleaned on my day off Saturday I'm blaming TA1.
