    And for the record, I (Drama-J) had at least 100 jobs that didn't register.

    Here is what i know: at 225am my alarm went off. I logged on right away to make sure I hadn't gotten knocked out of the top 10. I then saw my job count was 2155, 5 behind 10th place. I started flinging like crazy as I had 15 seq m fully loaded and waiting in Moscow, plus I had 60 layovers. I then realized their was no way that I could get everything done in time so I stayed bux boosting and spent exactly 164 bux. I boosted for approx. 15 min straight and then logged out. I then logged back in with 5 min to go and boosted 10 more passengers when I saw that it was still at 2155, hoping to at least pass who was in 10th with 2160.
    So the question is where did I finish? I've logged on3 times today when I was at work and still haven't seen what place, nor have I received the bux for that event. The reason I know is because I am still out of bux! Is it possible that I am number 7? I think it its very possible possible. The jobs I know for sure that I did are 150 for the 15 loaded seq and 60 for the layovers in Moscow. That makes my numbers from my previous post wrong. That would give me 2155+150+60=2365, & I also know I sent a number of planes to Istanbul, Tehren, and Paris and boosted those too. So I'll step back and let Merlion decide.

    I grew up in the air line business as pop worked for Delta. It is funny seeing all these airport codes. I used to try and memorize them whenever we would travel, so here are a few not on your list... mco is Orlando (the current event city), srq is Sarasota, Fl (where I grew up). Just two that i thought of :) I looked up the Toronto question and apparently all Canadian airports start with y. Then the last 2 came from weather coding assigned to Toronto. In naming cities I know that they try to name as closely as possible to the city name and airport name. If a city already has the code that would seem like the best, they still have to find one that works because that code is not going to be switched. As for the question of whether O'Hare would have a name switch, check out this page.... http://www.skygod.com/asstd/abc.html. It explains that the code Ord came from a field north of Chicago called Orchard field, hence the ORchaRd code.

    You haven't received the prize for Munmansk? Hope you get it soon so that you can take a screen shot of it and post it on the forum. That will settle once for all where you are.

    Edit: I thought of another way of verification. If someone in 11-16 has a ending snapshot of the leaderboard, we can see the number of jobs for #11. If it's still at 2155, chances are that Nimblebit ignored FantasyIcon's last jobs. Of course there's a possibility that Icon has moved up and someone happened to come by and do 2155 jobs too, but I think the coincidence is unlikely.

    Are Android players able to see other Mobage friends on the leaderboard ?

    Great work on the airport codes, ELMO! The new HKG is one of my favorite airports. Isn't that airport built on top of a man-made island? Another super nice airport is SIN. ORD, on the other hand, is def one of the worst airports to be delayed at.

    Just cracked the top ten with 517 jobs, 2D 15H left. I know this won't last long, so I'm savoring it now.

    Not the most efficient plan, but I am feeding Mexico City & NYC with jobs from LAX using Sequoias, and then ferrying the jobs to Orlando with Mapples.

    What are others' layouts for this event?

    Orlando is my 26th airport. All my blimps are dropping off jobs from their home cities and coming back empty. I love how the blimps could barely make the hop to Orlando from Lima, makes it very convenient for my asian & european blimps to drop off Astronauts and Space Stuff!

    Look, just put me in 11th ignore the 7th place, move 8th-11th up (because the rankings ignore unknowns) and I'll still get the top 10 I was after to begin with. Controversy solved...AND LESSON LEARNED!

    I continued flinging planes up to the end mostly to clear off the layovers. I knew they wouldn't be counted even if I had bux boosted them before the event ended.

    I think the GC lags are more noticeable at the end of an event when we're watching the job count like a hawk. The job count lags happen at other times too. I've seen it take hours to update. One of the worst was when the job count didn't budge before going to bed, still didn't update after I woke up, and it didn't change until hours later.

    I've also experienced getting kicked out of GC. It'll tell me I'm logged out and need to login. I don't think I've ever seen a logout button in GC so I'm not sure how that happens. I only notice this when I click on the Flight Crew for the leaderboard. Is there any way to avoid getting kicked out of GC?

    So.... it looks like North has been very busy flinging his planes to Orlando, he is leading with over 4k jobs. KTC is right behind him with 2800+ jobs, and Xgarriga is 3rd with 1350 jobs. Entry into the Top10 is 600 jobs.

    2D13h ... You actually moved UP to #9. That's pretty awesome! :D

    Your strategy sounds fine for a feeder system into Orlando since Mexico City & NYC are the two closest class 3 cities, Chicago would be the 3rd closest to Orlando.

    Does LAX provide enough jobs to feed into both Mexico City and New York?
    You could also use Chicago to feed into NY. It would save you time cuz it takes quite a bit longer for a Sequoia to go from LAX to NY.

    (Take a look at The Rusty Snowman's distance calculator to help plan your routes: http://therustysnowman.com/proj/pocketplanes.php ... this and other helpful info can be found in the links in my signature below ;) )

    I've got Mapples taking jobs to from Chicago to Orlando and Sea Knights/Kangaroos taking jobs from New York to Orlando. Big planes drop off jobs from LA, London, Paris, Moscow, Istanbul, Tehran, Bangkok, Jakarta, Shanghai and/or Seoul. The big planes aren't assigned to any specific "home" city, they just fly wherever the wind takes them. Sometimes they'll fill up with event jobs and head back to NY, other times they'll do Bux deliveries (fill up with Bux jobs plus coin job filler to make the 25%). :D

    I can tell you what happens as I went through it three times: anything happens.

    I was one of the first passengers to arrive at Suvarnabhumi in Bangkok, on Jetstar from Singapore. Don Muang (BKK) was still in operation and Suvarnabhumi had the temporary code NBK. Place was a frigging mess btw. Only after the official opening its designation was switched to from NBK to BKK and Don Muang became DMK.

    The Koreans handled it differently. When Incheon, Seoul's new airport, opened it received the designation ICN. (Again, I flew in on the second day or so.) Gimpo, hitherto known as SEL, became GMP. Funny enough, I regularly see the designation SEL pop up instead of GMP, even in the airport's material itself.

    Hong Kong, as you say, again did it differently. Kai Tak (HKG) closed down and Chek Lap Kok opened on the same moment, and became HKG.

    So I guess you can safely say there's no rule here :)

    Cheers,
    M.

    PS I've got one more little nugget for you: on one of my subsequent flights to ICN my plane was diverted because of fog in Incheon. We were stuck in the plane for a few hours in Fukuoka, in Southwest Japan. Its airport code, very suitably, is FUK.

    LOL, Faye, I just managed to move my class 1 fleet to NY. Just closed Nuuk and Reykjavik (the airports have northern lights in the background? :eek:) My small fleet looked so pitiful when they went on their icy march compared to the Gus and Penguin's impressive marches. A handful of planes vs a swarm of planes.

    Thanks for the reminder of Chicago. I totally forgot about Chicago.

    Just done 12 jobs which puts me at #43. #48 has 5 jobs.

    Lol, Merlion, what do you do to be flying to new airports. Are you an unofficial "beta tester" or "inauguration" for new airports? :)

    Psst .... you know what we're eagerly waiting for :) (Have been refreshing the forum when I should doing work. )

    I only did the airports in the possession of ChaseDis600RR, since he gave me those codes. I think it is an impossible job to do it for all of the PP airports :)

    My pleasure ChaseDis.

    And thank you everyone else for the compliments, if you would like a list for the airports you have just give them and ill do it or you can do it yourself with the earlier posted website: http://www.world-airport-codes.com

    For this event I opened London and kept Moscow for easy feeding. I already had NYC and CHIC in my possession and I did not opened New Mex. Everything east of NY is feeding NY. LIMA, LA and Buenos Aires are feeding CHIC. NY is feeding CHIC and vica versa. Problem is I only have 3 SK and a Kangaroo (P) to fly to Orlando. So it is overfull and have more P-jobs then C-jobs. Well at least I make profit.
    I send the planes back where the wind goes and I fill them up with buxjobs, destination jobs and jobs for airports I pass along the way to minimize my losses.

    And the winner is...

    Welcome all, to yet another instalment of MOFO Monday. And it is a special instalment, for today we announce the definitive podium for the 5th Silver Yoke. And what a finale it was. So let's not tarry, here are the results:

    1st: Penguin, 132 1/3 (1st, 114 1/3);
    2nd: North, 124 (2nd, 112);
    3rd: Gus, 90 1/3 (3rd, 90 1/3);
    4th: Snowbird, 87 (4th, 87);
    5th: Spineth, 81 (7th, 71);
    6th: Nalazoo, 75 1/3 (5th, 75 1/3);
    7th: Yitz, 72 (6th, 72);
    8th: ktc24, 59 (9th, 34);
    9th: Faye, 50 (8th, 42);
    10th: Castle, 44 (10th, 29).

    Penguin takes the 5th Silver Yoke, and what a deserved win it is. The Cup was undecided till the last race, and Penguin had to finish ahead of North to take it. And he did. North was all over him like a cheap suit, but had to concede in the end and took 2nd. Gus, the reigning Champion, completes the podium.

    So what happened behind the Mighty Three? Snowbird took a break, which was a bit of a gamble with Spineth in her wake. But she got away with it and finished in 4th, with Spineth still 6 points behind her.

    Spineth's result was enough to win him two places and score 5th, at the cost of 'Zoo and Yitz, who were not seen scoring any points in Arctic Murmansk.

    And we had a surprise winner! The beast in ktc24 was unleashed, and it thundered into 1st place in Murmansk with an impressive 8,436 jobs. The win rewarded him with one step up in SY5, and he finished 8th with 59 points.

    Faye lost another place but glass half full people as we all are, we celebrate the fact the she avoided oblivion and stayed firmly in the SY5 Top Ten. Stay with us, Faye, any Cup without you would not be the same!

    And Castle, good old Castle, finally saw all of his hard work pay off with a well deserved 44 points in 10th, well ahead of Lynsie who finished just outside with 27 points.

    Worth mentioning are Lorena in 12th with 12 points; Number1Ump in 13th (so that's either Number13Ump, or Number1Oops) with 10 points and a 6th place; Sherrif Vic and sdo62 in 14th, both with 10 points and one 7th and one 8th place; and the Godfather with 8 points in 16th.

    Last but not least, an honourable mention goes to TheFantasyIcon, who through diligence and perseverance, courage in the face of disaster, staring down NimbleBit's failure to refresh, ended in a memorable 22nd with 2 points. Well done, Icon! We're all looking forward to a round on the house in your famous saloon!

    And that concludes the 5th Silver Yoke. The 2nd Golden Sequoia has one more month to go, a short month consisting of 8 races. Its standings are:

    1st: Gus, 276 1/3 (1st, 276 1/3);
    2nd: Penguin, 227 1/3 (2nd, 209 1/3);
    3rd: Nalazoo, 175 1/3 (3rd, 175 1/3);
    4th: Faye, 160 (4th, 152);
    5th: North, 124 (6th, 112);
    6th: Snowbird, 115 (5th, 115);
    7th: Spineth, 81 (8th, 77);
    8th: Lynsie, 80 (7th, 80);
    9th: ktc24, 74 (12th, 49);
    10th: Yitz, 72 (9th, 72);

    Eight more races means 200 more points to win. Gus is leading Penguin by 59 points, with an average difference between them of 10 points, to polar bird's advantage, over the last 6 races. At that rate Penguin will gain the upper hand two races before the end. Will the Gusster wake up? Or will the Penguin's recently revamped Mapple swarm get the better of him? Stay tuned, folks. This is hot, and getting hotter.

    Nalazoo follows at a bit of a distance, in 4th with 175 and a third.

    Faye has gained 8 valuable points in Murmansk and sits pretty in 4th with 160 points. North is eyeing her position, gaining all the time, now 36 points behind her. Faye, you may still have a chance to overtake 'Zoo, but you're well advised to look over your shoulder as well! Danger's lurking from the white snows behind the Wall.

    For that is where the Northster dwells. Fittingly, the only danger he in turn has to fear is the Snowbird, a creature that feels famously at home in the white lands. Sbowbird sits a mere 9 points behind him in 6th.

    Spineth continues his march upwards, gaining another place to 7th, wih 87 points; behind him, Lynsie's still stuck at 80. She's been there for a while, and will soon fall prey to the ruthless likes of ktc, Yitz and Tater; not to mention Castle. Get moving, Lynsie, or else. The MOFOs know no mercy.

    Ktc24, who had just fallen out of the Top Ten, careens back into 9th with his newly gained 25 points; he has now 74. Yitz, the dangerous Android, sits right behind him with 72; so does a Tater, in 11th with 71; and don't rule out a determined Castle, who may have dropped out of the Top Ten but is planning to get back in as we speak.

    Closing off with the Supersonic Concorde League, the one we all want to be part of:

    1st: Gus, 457 1/3 (1st, 457 1/3);
    2nd: Faye, 391 (2nd, 383);
    3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 288);
    4th: Penguin, 257 1/3 (4th, 239 1/3);
    5th: Nokitano, 226 (5th, 226);
    6th: Snowbird, 221 (6th, 221);
    7th: North, 220 with 1st places (8th, 208);
    8th: Vic, 220 without (7th, 220);
    9th: Nalazoo, 204 1/3 (9th, 204 1/3);
    10th: Castle, 169 (10th, 154).

    Top Six unchanged, with Penguin steadily closing the gap with Ump's 3rd place. In 7th, North is winning one place, leaving Vic in his wake and threatening Snowbird and Nokitano, who are not far ahead. Prepare for changes up ahead. 'Zoo stays in 9th, but Castle, the Tower of Strength, is closing in.

    In 11th sits Copper, who is now looking at a gap of 47 points. Castle is clearly not looking back.

    Up and coming: Spineth in 14th, with 93 points, just 2 behind PocketDaddy; ktc24, in 17th with 84; and Yitz in 22nd with 72.

    Stay tuned, and see you back in Orlando in a couple of days!

    Cheers,
    M.

    Err what's that supposedly creepy thing? Couldn't identify so couldn't tell whether it is creepy or not.

    Now I can go and do my work in peace having read the much awaited MOFO report :D

    I was wondering why Penguin was watching to see North didn't overtake him. NOW I understand. it wasn't for Munmansk. It was for the Silver Yoke !

    Merlion, since you're the one compiling all the stats, is Faye the most consistent PP player in or near the Top 10? I see people (including myself) come and go, rush to the top, then run out of momentum and rested. But our dear Ms Faye has the endurance to be in the race almost all the time.

    How about we nominate Ms Faye as TA1ville's mayor? Merlion is our reporter and harmoniamundi our photographer :)

    Icon, how did you end with 15 mapple bodies and 1 engine ? Inbalanced market?

    The "creepy" thing was a person or doll just smiling at me. I went to the list of jobs and it wasn't there. Went back to the screen, still there, back to the jobs and...nothing. So i called it like i saw it, creepy!
    As for the parts, very unbalanced! ;)
