    I find the scrolling issue occurs when there is another plan making a delivery. Anytime it sticks, I wait and wait and then I always here the coin sound just as it unsticks.

    I hate that we never know when the last update will take place in the leaderboards at the end of an event.

    1. The freezing sucks but I cant say anything about that. But I can imagine the frustration when you are competing with others.

    2. I run PP on an iPad 2 as well, but I have IOS 6.1.3 and a crash never occurred.

    3. I do have freezes since yesterday but those don't last very long and I did not experienced any negative consequences.

    I'm on an ipad 2 with iOS 6.0. Have not had crashing issues other than one yesterday. There was a time months ago when PP was constantly crashing on me so I force-closed it, along with all the other apps that appeared along the bottom of the screen when I double-clicked the main button. It worked better after that which made me think that maybe force-closing everything helped clear out memory or a main cache or something. Can you tell I'm a windows user? Lol.

    What drives me nuts is the temporary freezes that happen when the landing plane announcement comes at the top of the screen. I really wish there was a way to disable that rather than just x-ing it out afterwards.

    Oh btw ended 34th with the Adelaide event! Personal Record!

    And I finally received the SK parts! Thank you so much! But I am one engine short... but let it rest for a couple of days, maybe you did send it and MOBAGE has to put it in my parts section...

    Happy to be in the TOP10 for first time (8th)!!
    This event will be more difficult to make a good clasification...

    I too experience crashes every 10/15 min on my iPhone 4S, 6.1.2. I can sense them coming as the game gets slower just before quitting
    On the iPad3, crashes occur less frequently, only on long runs.
    I also think the more planes you got the worse it becomes.
    It's clearly a memory problem.
    I force close all te apps in te task bar regularly. And I use an app to clear the memory once in a while.

    Yeah, same here. On my iPhone 5 it crashes every 30-45 minutes. On my iPad2 it crashes at least every 15 minutes.

    I fling a lot of planes and play quite a lot and I rarely experience crashes? Maybe one a month.. I'm playing on an iPhone 4.

    My game freezes occasionally. I notice it is usually when I have bad cell service and it is attempting to connect to Gamecenter.

    not to beat the dead horse in regards to this topic, i think we come across this problem when crappy connectivity and we have 40+ planes in operation, hahahaha! Anyway....is it just me, or does this new Global Event present itself as another "Operation: Giant Slayer" event?

    Yeah the last few events have been terrible for me. Any event that doesn't have at least 2 class 3 cities within range of mapple is tough. I have considered using St. Petersburg for this event but I just can't stand using class 2s as hubs. I'm satisfied sending 3 mapples per refresh out of Moscow I guess.

    My jaw literally dropped when I saw your swarm. I know you have a lot, but didn't know it's so big.

    I'm staying out of this event. A bit miffed at PP, but more importantly, I'm very busy these few days so I won't be able to do much. Sigh, I generally make the decision to participate late (e.g. starting on Friday) or even Sat a couple of times and then have a HARD time trying to catch up with others :p

    Snowbird, thanks for the scrolling tip. I will try that out. :) Yeah, the stickiness sometimes picked up unintended jobs or worse ... drop all jobs. A couple of times, my actions were too fast and it dropped all jobs and exit out to the main planes page -> lost all the jobs that i've carefully collected in past rounds.

    Congratulations ! :) Faye didn't displace you this time :p

    Thank you to Faye and Vic and Gus for taking it easy in Adelaide and giving us a chance in the top 10 :D

    MOFOs Down Under, Part II

    Later, much later, when we will look back at those early days of the MOFOs (yes, dear citizens of TA1ville, that time will come!) we will probably say that Adelaide was the day that the MOFOs came of age.

    For one thing, it was the second time that Yitz, an Android, won a race. This is not a coincidence any more. The Androids have arrived, and they're here to stay. Welcome Yitz from the planet Isroogle, and congratulations! We will now take you to our leader, Sheriff Vic. (Which reminds me, TA1ville still needs a mayor. But I digress.)

    And secondly, Adelaide marks the end of the days that the MOFOs were dominated by a small group of people. The basis has become broader, with people like Yitz and Spineth, the return of the North, Xavi Garriga aka Lorena, and the Godfather. Yes, TA1ville now even has a Godfather. Anyone needs a favour, drama-j is the place to go!

    Other than that, Adelaide is a ghost town. It was the easiest place in a long time to score points. Lately an aspiring iconoclast would've needed 2,000 or even 3,000 jobs to score MOFO points, but in Adelaide the bar sat at 1,276. And 3,145 secured the victory, which is a long haul from the 10k levels we've been spoilt with of late.

    Since this is the 8th out of 9 races for the 5th Silver Yoke, all of this is not affecting the next podium by very much. With the exception of North, of course, who's nestled himself in Melbourne firmly on the second place, from which he's now shouting: come and get me if you dare!

    So let's have a look at what's the result of all of this:

    1st: Penguin, 114 1/3 (1st, 104 1/3);
    2nd: North, 112 (2nd, 94);
    3rd: Gus, 90 1/3 (2nd, 90 1/3);
    4th: Snowbird, 87 (5th, 72);
    5th: Nalazoo, 75 1/3 (4th, 73 1/3);
    6th: Yitz, 72 (7th, 47);
    7th: Spineth, 71 (6th, 63);
    8th: Faye, 42 (8th, 41);
    9th: ktc24, 34 (9th, 34);
    10th: Castle, 29 (11th, 17).

    Penguin is still in the lead. But North is right behind him, and if North finishes 3rd or higher in Murmansk, Penguin will have to finish higher than North in order to win the Yoke; if North finishes in 4th or 5th, Penguin needs to finish right behind him; and if North finishes lower, Penguin can afford to be two places behind North.

    Gus can still theoretically overtake both and take the Cup, but only if the two leaders let him. And the Master of the Swarm will have to defend his podium place, lest the Snowbird swoops in and takes it from him.

    Snowbird won another place and is now sitting pretty in 4th. In theory she can still overtake Gus, but not North. She may draw alongside North in points, but he has two wins and two third places that Snowbird can't match. So the cunning Northmaster is already assured of a podium place, since only Gus can now overtake him.

    Which is still possible, of course. Gus can even win: 24 Points behind Penguin means that the Silver Yoke officially hasn't been decided yet.

    Nalazoo drops one place to 5th, and Yitz with his splendid victory gains one place. He leapfrogs Spineth, who now has to make do with 7th.

    Faye and ktc hold steady in 8th and 9th. And Castle, as predicted, has made true on his evil plans to kick Lynsie out of the SY5 Top Ten. remember, people, you read it here first!

    Lynsie now sits in 11th, two points behind Castle, so she still has a chance to beat Castle to the Top Ten but only if the latter drops the ball. It's yours to lose now, Castle Man!

    On to the 2nd Golden Sequoia, which now looks like this:

    1st: Gus, 276 1/3 (1st, 276 1/3);
    2nd: Penguin, 209 1/3 (2nd, 199 1/3);
    3rd: Nalazoo, 175 1/3 (3rd, 173 1/3);
    4th: Faye, 152 (4th, 151);
    5th: Snowbird, 115 (5th, 100);
    6th: North, 112 (6th, 94);
    7th: Lynsie, 80 (7th, 80);
    8th: Spineth, 77 (9th, 69);
    9th: Yitz, 72 (12th, 47);
    10th: Tater, 71 (8th, 71).

    With 9 races to go the first 7 places remain steady. Gus has a relatively safe lead, but needs to spring back to action at some point in time, or Penguin will steal the Cup. Faye has made only two points in the last four races, during which Snowbird has averaged 16 per race and North 18. Watch your back, Faye!

    8th-10th Place is where it's all happening right now. Spineth winneth one place and taketh 8th. (Try to pronounce that in one go.) Yitz wins three places and takes 9th. Another win will propel him into 8th, which is his maximum result for SY5. But pay attention: this is the droid you're looking for in the next cup!

    Tater hangs on to the Top Ten by his toenails, in tenth. (How's that for the ole' alliteration?) But Castle sits 16 points behind him, and he's on a roll. Ktc24 drops out of the Top Ten and now sits in 12th, 6 points behind Castle.

    And how's the Concorde League coming along?

    1st: Gus, 457 1/3 (1st, 457 1/3);
    2nd: Faye, 383 (2nd, 382);
    3rd: Ump, 288 (3rd, 288);
    4th: Penguin, 239 1/3 (5th, 229 1/3);
    5th: Nokitano, 226 (4th, 226);
    6th: Snowbird, 221 (7th, 181);
    7th: Vic, 220 (6th, 220);
    8th: North, 208 (9th, 190);
    9th: Nalazoo, 204 1/3 (8th, 202 1/3);
    10th: Castle, 154 (10th, 142).

    Top Three remains pretty much the same. Penguin gains another place and now needs only 49 points to kick Ump off the prospective podium. Nokitano drops to 5th, and now has Snowbird 5 points behind him. Snowbird won one place and looks determined to take Nokitano's 5th as well. Vic drops one place and is now threatened by North; and North just took Zoo's scalp and is now looking for Vic's blood. Don't worry, Sheriff - all figuratively speaking, of course. Castle remains in 10th, now with a healthy score of 154.

    Behind Castle, Copper and Coastcat look unthreatening with 122 and 117. But Spineth sits in 16th with 83 points, and Yitz in 21st with 72.

    Stay tuned, all!

    Cheers,
    M.

    Oh Merlion, it's the best thing of the day come home and read the MOFO report ! THANK YOU ! :D:):D

    Adelaide event had some challenges that made Yitz 3.1K jobs a very good effort, totally comparable to Snowbird's 10K job of the previous Melbourne event. Melbourne and Adelaide are almost side by side so we can make a very good comparison.
    i. Melbourne is class 2 airport, allowing areoeagles which carries 6 jobs per plane. Adelaide is class 1 airport. Popular Class 1 planes are Roos, mapples, mohawks, seaknights and kringle kruisers.
    ii. Melbourne had a P/C event while Adelaide is a C-only event. This puts a very severe cramp on jobs and planes. Roos is the only 4 seater C-plane. The others can carry only 2 or 3 C jobs per plane. This is already half the capacity of areoeagle (in terms of C-job count). Plus, all the planes are slower than areoeagles.
    iii. It takes twice as long to load the big planes to bring the jobs to Jakarta. I didn't do a P/C job generation ratio check, but assuming that it is 50%-50%. Even if we fly from Jakarta, Melbourne etc., the number of eligible jobs is cut into half.
    Hence I say that Yitz' 3.1K job is comparable to Snowbird's 10K job.

    When comparing to other class 1 events, the distance between the closest class 3 town and the said class 1 town should also be taken into consideration. For example, a max-speed Roo takes 54 minutes to make a round trip from Jakarta to Adelaide while it takes a few minutes from London to Manchester.

    In conclusion, kudos to Yitz's efforts. :)

    Merlion, you must be one of the most persuasive persons. I came back to PP recently because of your MOFO reports (trying not to totally fall of every cup chart). I had decided this morning to stay out of Murmansk because I really have a very busy two days, and Murmansk seems really far out. BUT, your MOFO report has made me think twice and three times whether I want hand the 10th place to Lynsie :p BTW, I didn't plan to kick anyone out; I was just trying to hang in there :p :)

    Lastly, err .... who is the Godfather? :eek:

    You're right, I maybe should have reflected Adelaide's degree of difficulty a bit more. Definitely didn't want to underrate Yitz's achievement, so thanks for elaborating! :)

    Good luck with staying in the MOFO ratings, and the same to Lynsie btw! :D

    God-father is drama-j's forum name, if I'm not mistaken.

    Cheers,
    M.

    Great read as always, really explains why I'm having too work my @$$ off on day 1! On a side now i see someone mucked up the bux calculator again. Anyway to lock the cells so that random people can't just adjust it? Faye is gonna be pissed. (not drunk)

    Really need to beat North in this event, sadly my schedule for Saturday doesn't line up very well. It's Masters week and I'm playing in a tournament this weekend. So North, 'ol buddy... I'll give it a heck of an effort the next two days but I'll just be flinging a few Saturday!

    I have a couple of questions for Gus, Penguin, North, maybe Merlion and others whose strategy is huge swarm of class 1 planes (roos, mapples, seaknights). While the normal bux sitter strategies (twin hubs, central hubs, train etc.) are quite well documented, little is known about the strategies of these class 1 swarms. Merlion did share his blimp strategy, but now that he's acquired a whole fleet of seaknights, not sure what happens now. It's always impressive watching penguin and gus' swarms marching towards their new destination. But little is known what they do. So I have a little interview for these people:

    - do all these roos/mapples/seaknights just do global event jobs? or some of them do other things as well? If so what do they do?
    - I know that you earn big bux too. Do you have bux sitting strategies? or the bux are picked up along the way ?
    - do you operate a few airports strategies (e.g. some of us operate like 8-10 permanent class 3 airports only), or many airports?
    - how do you keep your swarms fed for global event?
    - Do you operate out of a main hub (e.g. closest class 3 hub like Moscow in this case) or also from nearby class 2 hubs?

    Aside: For once, the advertising company seems to be doing quite a good job. (Maybe this is relative, after the cargo only event in Adelaide). May they keep up the good work. :)

    Well I'll be the first to answer.

    First off, my fleet is 40 mapples, and all of them do the global events exclusively.

    As for bux, I usually try to get as many class 3 cities close to the event as I can which usually results in a lot of 1-2 bux jobs. This is my primary form of bux collecting. (As for how I got to 40 slots... I bought them with coins up until 24 slots and then bought the bux $39.95 x 3 to the amout of bux I needed to get the slots.)

    I have no airports that stay open permanently. The only two airports I have open right now are Moscow and Murmansk. 29m round trip flight. With fully upgraded and advertising I can usually get 3-4 planes in the air per refresh. Lulea is a pretty handy cheap city to buy and sell for a job refresh as well.

    The Al Fashir event was really well suited for me a while back. At the time I only had 24 mapples but I put 8 in Cairo, 8 in Kinshasa, 8 in Lagos. And just kept them in the air.

    The Australia events were particularly painful for me because I refuse to use class 2 cities. I resorted to Jakarta and it was a 49 minute round trip flight for the mapples. And Adelaide was 43 minutes with my planes operating at 50% effectiveness due to it only being Cargo.
