Here is some news from a newbie, currently possessing spot 44 in crew with 62 jobs and found 2 mystery parts within 10 hours with no advertising. Ill advertise today.

In case someone missed my post earlier, right before the storm flood of results from the Miami event, I could use some help with donations to upgrade my fleet a little faster. I'm updating to full Aeroplane fleet, but the parts are scarce. I am also looking for Mapples. I dont want to sound like a begger, I just can use some help  I am also looking for a hercules plane, just one for the collection, more is welcome. I can trade with 2 yet to be indentified mystery parts.

Last question; how can i add a sig? Can't figure it out...

    Edit: An engine arrived!

If you're under level 28, sorry I can't send you anythg (only 100 GC appear on my gift list, sorted by level) :(
Sone already answered you for the signature I think, you got to do it on a browser, when looking at your TA account, there's a menu left.

Quick thought, if I advertise Melbourne, will that likely increase the number of mystery parts I run into?

It increases the amount of jobs going to that airport so yes it will increase the number of mystery parts too. Hope you have more luck than me they seem to be very thin on the ground for me at the minute :(

    Cool, you'll see, that's a game changer.
Now you may adapt to any event easily while still doing sthg else on the side if you want.
Are you gonna go with Swarm horde?

About the Bux jobs, I may be wromg but I think it's sthg very simple:
Every 250 coins, you got 1 more Bux.
    Ie a job valued 0-250 > 1 Bux job
    251-500 > 2 Bux job
    ...
    1750-2000 > 8 Bux jobs
    ...

What sort of strategy are you running now, is it mainly event planes or do you still have some sort of bux harvesting going on in the background? I'm close to adding 10 more slots to get to 32 but am not quite sure how I want to run my planes.

Thats also an open question to anyone else who has made the jump up in slots, what should I be doing now, going for just events or still doing some bux sitting?

I guess you aren't off much, but it can't be at exactly 250 as I get 4 Bux at jobs which yield 746 Coins already.
My guess is that it is calculated from the distance the same way coins are, but since bux only got 1 figure it is rounded up/down, whereas coin jobs got 2-4 figures so rounding isn't that obvios.

The Rusty Snowman's Pocket Planes tools are awesome for figuring out what planes can navigate between different airports, and then there's the "Route Planner" (scroll down to get to it)...that enables you to plug in a plane you're going to use & then see what legs of the trip it needs to make it to different points. It's a great way to figure out what airports to open if you want to use Jakarta as a hub for feeders and layovers and then use different planes to deliver to Melbourne.

You'll find a link to The Rusty Snowman's tools in the SUCK (see my signature for link).

You should be doing whatever you have fun doing :D
Having 30+ slots gives you flexibility to pursue multiple goals at the same time or go all in. Experiment!

Personnally, I've never tried the swarm (100% class 1 planes doing the event, and only a few airports around the event city).

When I got to 30 planes (now 54), I have divided my fleet in four parts:

    - the Bux sitters. I got Cyclones, but non upgraded Sequoias M are great for that. This fleet is sometimes used for class 3 events. I don't check them that often though. But long term, they're very useful.

    - the regular fleet, they mostly do the +25% bonus routes, clear layovers. Again I got Cyclones M, but whatever fits your airport layout is good, could be Blimps à la Merlion, or a bit of everything.

    - the event transporters : I got Cloudliners and Cyclone P/C that I pair up in the closest class 3 airports from the event that transport massive layovers to the event class 3 hub (Jakarta for this event).
    - the event fleet: whichever planes are needed for an event. This fleet gets back in and out of the hangar. I have planes for all type of events, and this is what I find the most fun :)

I like this setup, because I can adjust easily, and still have various goals. ;)
Recently, I shrank my regular fleet and added more planes to the event fleet.

    Good morning!

About strategies: when i hit 55 slots, i ceased all bux sitting and just concentrate on events. That's what is keeping it fun for me now, figuring out how best to approach an event. i still have a lot of SQ-Ms bringing in the layovers, and a fleet of about 17 mapples that swarm to each event. And with so many class 2 events, I've steadily increased my number of aeroeagles. I have one pair of P/C cloudliners, but they seem so annoying because they take forever to fill. One thing i like about this level is that coins are a non issue. I can open and close and upgrade cities without caring about the cost. I even closed New York for the first time since opening it forever ago early in my game.

About mystery parts: that 1 in 100 ratio usually holds true for me, but they have been really scarce this time round. I have a mystery parts plane in every open city, and i check each one at the start of every rotation, and i went through about 500 deliveries last night without seeing one. I found 2 this morning, bringing my total up to 4 as i approach a thousand deliveries. I'm bummed, i want lots of SKs!

I've missed a lot of work this week while the stomach flu makes its way through the teenaged offspring. That gives me more time to fling planes, but it's just not very fun.

I've had 16 parts for 342 jobs, so I seem to be well ahead of what most people say :D
