Yes, that's me, on Android, lurking as a blank spot on your top ten.

I opened up Istanbul for this event, which has been my earworm for the week. "Istanbul was Constantinople now it's Istanbul not Constantinople." My mother loved that song when she was young, and then I grooved on it when They Might Be Giants played it.

I don't know which level unlocks them, they are 6 Bux per part and between Mohawks (lvl 8) and Birchcrafts (lvl 10) in the parts list, so I'd guess at lvl 9.
You should be able to fly them earlier ofc if someone sends you the parts...I'm sure there are some players (including me) which can send you some ;)

Btw, you could start on your tablet before you get your new phone, just log in with the same mobage account then and you can continue playing ;)

I immediately checked my appstore on my Macbook (pro), but too bad... you need Mac OSX Lion to be able to play in on your mac, so no mapples nor Nimblequest for me on my laptop...

When I load up a plane with all Bux jobs to one city, does this 25% bonus some how give me coins on the flight as well? Because when I reach the airport I actually make coins without having any passengers or cargo paying in coins.

Yes it takes the amount that would be given as bonus if all the flights were coins and gives that to you as coin. So it is possible to make a profit on a flight with all bux jobs. But it usually has to be high bux jobs being delivered a short distance as layovers.

Don't buy full planes if you are low on bux (like usually on the lower levels) and aren't in a hurry, it's more expensive then buying the parts and assembling it ;)
Mapple parts are 6 Bux a piece + 6 for assembly, that's 24 bux instead of 31...7 bux can be quite a bit on low levels (or 1 part for another mapple).
On more expensive planes that difference can get quite huge, e.g. 49 bux (= 2 parts!) for Sequoias and 86 bux (=2 bux shy of 2 parts) for cyclones.

Is there a separate thread too? I joined, but I'm not very good at it. Plus my 4-yr old just used up all my tokens pressing "Add hero".

Yes there's a thread for the game, but it's a more regular one (meaning not 99% TA1 talk) :D

Tbh the game is fun, but it doesn't have the same longevity potential as PP.
It's skill based, with a bit of strategy as your dudes don't act the same.
You can level up your dudes and so on, but it's not sthg I see myself playing daily for a long time. ;)

If you play the standard game & beat enemies, occasionally you'll find tokens :D.

I agree with Vic...this is something I can do as a quick game or two, not someone I'd play for a long time in one stretch. It's fun to participate with TA1 members in the Arena (need to get past the Courtyard level to do that).

There are also free tokens for watching 10s videos
you can do that while doing sthg else, I got more than 20 yesterday.
TA1 is 4th there (excl. hackers guilds), not bad for a start :D

I've started a game on my tablet, my mobage account is in my sig below. As I said before I won't be playing too much on it just yet, my main device and game will be on my Iphone but it will be my main account soon when I get my new phone. It's going to be weird starting from scratch again at least I will have a better strategy and will be less aimless than when I started before. Only thing I don't like is that I need a network connection to start the game, as the tablet only has wifi I won't be play while out and about too much :(

Why do you need network to start the game?
    Android spec?
Too bad you can't gift you a starter pack from Gc to mobage :(

A few of the android guys have mentioned it before, I think it needs to log you in to your mobage account before you start :(

Would be nice if I could send parts from GC to Mobage as I have loads of my own starter planes that I don't use anymore on my phone but would be useful on the tablet.

I've been getting kicked off GC a lot recently. I don't realize that I've been kicked off until I try to check the leaderboard on PP. Does anyone know if the jobs that I did while I wasn't logged in to GC will count when I log back in?

    Where to expand?

I'm sitll quite new to Pocket Planes, and have currently set up a row of airports in a line from London to Moscow, as I've read that this is the best way to maximise profits.

I am now facing the problem of expanding my network - as I don't think my current setup leaves much room for meaningful/profitable expansion (see pic below).

What I'm thinking of doing is closing Minsk + Moscow, and instead opening Istanbul + Tehran - which in turn leaves the door open for a future expansion into Asia, plus when I want to cross the Atlantic I can do so from London. It also keeps my network in an (amlost) straight horisontal line - which should be good for profits).

    What do you think?
