I actually have completed a local event (1000 jobs). I am very disappointed, wasted a lot of BUX to rush my planes I GOT ABSOLUTELY NOTHING -.- it's not even marked that I've done the job. I'm not even going to attempt local events again unless some changes are made.
Well that's a bummer.. Guess we should just focus on global events for now. That said, does anyone have any idea how to make it from Nome-Wellington nonstop for that 'longest flight' achievement? Both airports in question are class 1 so they'd hardly be able to make the trip without 5-6 stops along the way.
Ugh, that stinks, maybe you'll get something once the time expires? I really hope so, as I've invested a lot of effort in the Houston event.
Might want to post this somewhere where touch arcade flight crew members will see it : https://getsatisfaction.com/nimblebit/topics/no_flight_crew_reward Looks like Nimblebit will award you your missing bux , as long as you post your G number
Biggest thing is buy several planes, then buy a few more cities, then start upgrading your planes. Get involved with the event in Brisbane event so get some free bux and a plane, and that's pretty much the basics.
You cannot upgrade the class of an airport. You'll need to start selling off Class 1 airports as you upgrade your fleet of planes.
How does that mistery cargo thing work? Do I have to look out for specific cargo and can it appear anywhere?
It appears anywhere and from my experience always wants to be delivered to the current event destination and always seems to have aircraft parts of the same plane the current event is rewarding for top prize.
Have finally crossed the ocean at lvl 11. Thought I'd share some tips I have noticed. Early on, quadrant out so you can run quick taxi routes with lots of traffic. Once you're near level 10 and Birchmarks become available you should be planning your next stage of development which is to phase out class 1 airports (class 2 can not land at class 1 airports!). I've closed most of the small ones, even the ones they give you initially, and began to retire small ranged aircraft. it sucks to lose half your investment on airports but closing small ones for bigger ones is required. I then began to purchase blue and red airports down to South America and crossed to Largo (Birchmark can make the trip from the blue in Brazil). From there it's expansion either through the middle east or up to Europe. I'm going for the Middle East so that it's more of a linear path for flights all the way to Asia. This is so that I can take advantage of layovers while I build out the Birchmark fleet better along with maximizing distance to flight worth. You really want the bonuses for carrying all cargo to one spot so pay attention to when new jobs are about to roll over, load up as many from the destination you want that are available and then after the roll-over see if you can fill out the remaining spots. Even if you can't, travel to a destination before and see if anyone else needs the spot. You can really maximize the bonus if patient waiting for job rollovers.
