Alan it's no big deal, he was trying to help...i just didn't think 2 rare parts were equal to 2 aero m. So I just gave him the part and the aero's back. Some times you have to cut off your nose to spite your face and keep your sanity. If that makes any sense?
After some more testing I can confirm my theory, I can load/unload planes with or without freezing at will with this method. e.g. if I scroll trough the job list fast and start un-/loading as soon as I see a blue job the list isn't fully loaded and it will freeze. If I scroll to the end of the job list (doesn't matter how fast - just scroll trough the "empty" jobs) and wait till all jobs appear (again, about half a second) I can un-/load a whole plane with 1 button hold without freezing. So the reason it freezes (at least for me) is a uncomplete loaded job list, I guess that's the reason too why it starts when I got a lot of layovers, the list gets way longer then and isn't fully loaded if I just scroll to the beginning of event jobs.
Have you figured out how to prevent the game from freezing up whenever planes land (or jobs delivered somewhere)? This is the most frustrating thing for me. Because of the freezing up, I'll end up overshooting my target (when scrolling the job list or scrolling across the map) or accidentally doing load-all (for a city I didn't want to pick up). It also seems to take a "long" time for anything to happen when I tap on stuff or when I switch from one screen to another (like when I tap on a plane from the plane list, it takes a while for the next screen to appear). I want my game to be: tap, tap, tap, tap, tap, done. My game is more like: tap, pause, tap, twiddle thumbs, tap, pause, tap, oh look my avocado tree has fully grown!, tap, zzzzz, done. Maybe it's just an iPhone thing. .
Very nice! Making sure the job list loads is a whole lot easier than getting in and out of the list when it's super glitchy, and way waaaay better than getting out of the game and back in. I'll see how this works on my game tonight.
Maybe the next event will be somewhere longer than 15 minute flight, 4 minutes if you are using NY, there and back. The last couple events have been a bit of a grind to stay in the top 10 Maybe Inuvik, Honolulu, or Easter Island.
I have fond memories of working Easter Island last September, a very relaxing event. It was much easier to secure a spot on the leader board back then ... I finished at #2 with only 2721 jobs. The #1 person delivered 3125 jobs. I bet the numbers would be a whole lot higher if we were to do it all over again.
I didn't fly events when I first started pocket planes. Was just content flying all over the world Ahhhhhh Those were the days. LOL
Lol... If you only knew how much worse it could be! Oooh oooh a class 2 event gotta go buy planes, crash! Quick reload the game...wait,wait,wait, i may want to find a better signal...what? Manage apps, force close, restart, launching, wait, wait ,wait, ok loaded back up. Parts screen, scroll very slowly so it doesn't boot me, almost to aero m planes almost there...then my phone says NOT TODAY BIATCH! CRASH! So frustrating. This is only the half of it!
Good to,know it's not just me...I've found it freezes less on my iPhone if I go and CLOSE all other open applications. Double tap the big home button to bring up the quick switch icons for other apps, then press and hold an icon unto, you see the red minus sign, keep hitting the minus to close all other apps. I've found that helps...which leads me to think that all of these freezing issues are memory related.
Another interesting bit for the droid guys... I recently purchased the nexus 10 tablet, and I have not experienced the freezing bug on it. Possibly due to it being very fast and loading jobs super quick? I don't know, but pocket planes looks awesome on a big screen! :-D
Buy me 1 and let me see what you are talking about. I'm really hoping I will be able to play pocket planes on the tv when the ouya comes out. Screen shots may be hard though.
On 7" it might be playable, but on my 10" Transformer Prime PP doesn't look good, way to pixelated Oh, and the Controls are too far away from each other to play smoothly. I got a Hdmi Cable for the Tablet, so I could hook it up to my 42" TV anytime, but I'm not sure I want to do that to my eyes
That's amazing! I literally have 2 guys that have really helped me out. I asked for aero m at about 10 am. Spineth threw me about 3 full planes and i greatly appreciate it. But man...let me tell you SQUALLID is the man! 11 full planes over the last 12 hours!!! Enormous generosityI won't forget...thank you!
Thanks I got in a groove this afternoon and was doing over 450 jobs per hour. Had 11 Seqouia feeding NY with 4 Aeroeagle going to Boston. And had 12 mapples going from Chicago to Boston.
