Thanks PondusFM! Since I'm late to the party, I'll list some choices. Class 1: any Kringle Kruiser or X10 Mapple part Class 2: Aeroeagle M engine, or any other Aeroeagle part Class 3: Concorde body or any Cyclone or Cloudliner part
Did you ever wonder what happens when you exceed certain numbers (9 for the City and 999 for the Bitbook) in the Bubble-Counters in PP ? If yes, see attachment below to find out ....if not, or you already know it, skip to next post Now on to 10k for that useless Bitbook I guess?
Thought I would give this a go: Class 1: any blimp part Class 2: none Class 3: Starship body, if it's still left. GC Danoman 42 Thanks for doing this btw.
Pondus, it is awesome that you are doing this!! Class 1: any Mapple or KK part you have left (I know I'm late to the forums today so I know this is a long shot) Class 2: none Class 3: none GC: lynsie_13
Yes, please cheat. Dang, ran out of popcorn. I still fling planes from time to time to get my 50 more often than not. I too know what it takes to get anything over 5k jobs for an event in a class 1 airport, been there and done that, by actually sending the damn planes - it sucks. Not interested in doing it all the time, especially with the recent "developments" that I have been reading about while enjoying my popcorn (seriously, I was eating popcorn). My only question would be, why? What do you get by ruining some friendly competition? Nothing. Sure, you might get a Concorde if you top the rankings, which obviously you can, but if you are going to go through all that trouble, why not just do whatever that one guy did and give yourself unlimited planes, bux, and all that other stuff. All it takes it one party pooper to ruin the friendly competition going here. Sad, sad, and shall I say, sad. Feel like I am talking to my kid......... but whatever.
I am sorry but i really feel everyone is overreacting to this last incident. I would like to ask a quick question ? Didn't anyone here play GTA before? Used any cheats ? Sometimes you just want to have fun and you don't want to wait. I still do condemn the hacking business, but still it was done for fun. It wasn't done to ruin the fun on anyone. It was just a different sense of fun. I will speak for myself at least. When i got the bux, i backed up my save first, because it was meant as a trial. I wanted to know how hard is it to fling 50 planes like Gus does, and maybe give away some planes to help others. And i found out it was time consuming. Knowing that, having unlimited bux isn't much different from buying your own bux btw. The only event where my score surpassed that of GUS was Manchester, and it wasnt because i was bux boosting or anything, it was because he laid back because he already secured the cup. After my little experiment, i respect Gus more then ever. He flinged 15000 jobs, something i couldn't do with unlimited bux. Now i am back to play my normal game (Lvl 17 now ), and i would love it if people would just let the subject go. No harm was done, we all confessed and got reprimanded. Maybe others aren't as honest. But certainly honesty doesn't earn any respect nowadays. I confessed that i had unlimited bux when i first got the new slots btw. Sooner or later, i will get my fleet together. And won't have someone question my integrity.
Restated MOFO rankings All right, folks. That was quite a bit of excitement in these normally very peaceful parts, but I think we're sorted, as the Brits say. Oamoam and his little band of revolutionaries have gracefully backed out and announced to take their business elsewhere. Mo Kheidr AKA Bido has decided to stay with us and build up his position for another shot at the MOFO rankings, which is much appreciated. And I sincerely hope all others' concerns have been put to rest, so we can go back to flinging planes wholeheartedly, in the safe knowledge that everyone has an equal shot at eternal fame. Speaking of which, here we go with the long awaited restatement for the last five events. I'll split it across different posts so the posts don't get too long. First, the events themselves: Code: TA Name Al Fashir SuperPenguin17 25 Gus172 18 Nalazoo 15 Lynsie13 12 Faye Valentine 10 boomerkidd 8 stogiereview_jerry 6 RoboBoto 4 ktc24 2 Number1Ump 1 Code: TA Name Pevek Nalazoo 25 Gus172 18 nokitano 15 boomerkidd 12 SuperPenguin17 10 Train2000 8 Faye Valentine 6 stogiereview_jerry 4 vicsark 2 thefantasyicon 1 Code: TA Name Cancun Gus172 25 SuperPenguin17 18 CastlePage 15 Faye Valentine 12 Lynsie13 10 Tater4579 8 Jmacjmac 6 YogiSmith 4 el Carmo Grande 2 Nalazoo 1 Code: TA Name M'chester Gus172 25 Nalazoo 18 Faye Valentine 15 <(timo)> 12 CastlePage 10 SuperPenguin17 8 spineth 6 snowbird 4 Lynsie13 2 el Carmo Grande 1 Code: TA Name P/Arenas Gus172 25 SuperPenguin17 18 spineth 15 Yitzc77 12 snowbird 10 Faye Valentine 8 ktc24 6 Nalazoo 4 el Carmo Grande 2 Lynsie13 1 Obviously these all show the MOFO points not jobs. Sorry for the formatting and for for not including the job numbers themselves but you can look them up in the SUCK at any time, of course. All in the name of speed In summary, there's a bit of a pattern here. Gus and Penguin have been fighting for hegemony during the last five races, with Gus generally having the upper hand. Nalazoo is a dangerous third and has shown the ability to win if she puts her mind to it. Faye the Flinger, or rather: Faye the Stayer is ever-present in the sub top, patiently adding result after result to her overall score. Castle, Nokitano and Snowbird still lash out occasionally, when they have time. And we see another group of potential heavy hitters come up in the ranks: Spineth, Yitzhak, Timo and Boomer. Lastly, let's not forget to hand congrats to FantasyIcon, who finally made it into the MOFOs with his Pevek result. Welcome, and fly for more! To be continued: 4th Silver Yoke (monthly) and 2nd Sequoia Cup (quarterly) in the next post. Cheers, M.
Thank you for your generosity Pondus! I would love to have: Class 1: Mapple, any part Thanks! GC: matma92ser
MOFO Restatement: 4th Silver Yoke and 2nd Sequoia Cup After restating no fewer than five races with some big changes, the latest full month of the MOFO rankings of course also looks different. Four of the five races were part of that month (which had in total 8 races): Al Fashr through Manchester. And all five races were part of the second quarter, of which now 9 races have been run. Wat does all that mean? Here goes: Code: TA Name Month4 1. Gus172 186 2. Faye Valentine 110 3. Nalazoo 100 4. SuperPenguin17 95 5. Tater4579 71 6. Lynsie13 53 7. Jmacjmac 48 8. RoboBoto 30 9. snowbird 28 10. CastlePage 26 The podium changes. Gus remains the undisputed Champion, with Faithful Faye in second. But Nalazoo ousts Penguins from 3rd place, by a 5 points margin. Congrats, 'Zoo! And encouraging wishes to Penguin, who we all expect to see on a future podium! On to the standings in the 2nd Sequoia Cup. With 10 races down and 16 to go, here are zee results: Code: TA Name Q2 1. Gus172 211 2. Faye Valentine 118 3. SuperPenguin17 113 4. Nalazoo 104 5. Tater4579 71 6. Lynsie13 54 7. Jmacjmac 48 8. snowbird 38 9. RoboBoto 30 10. CastlePage 26 As we can see, it's pretty much the Usual Suspects from the 4th month lineup. But here Penguin comes into his own: he's in a firm podium position, with a 9 points advantage over Nalazoo. Doesn't sound much, and it isn't in the ever exciting MOFO rankings, but knowing Penguin he'll be pretty determined to keep it that way. This will be a battle worth watching! Tater and Lynsie have some catching up to do, but are still in a good position to move up in the rankings. Remember, 16 races to go means that 400 points can still be earned! Even if you score an average 4/5th place, this means a 160+ points gain, so anything can happen. Faye has shown she knows very well how to play this game Right outside the Top Ten are Nokitano, just one point behind Castle. (Look over your shoulder, Castle! That's the sound of Nokitano breathing down your neck!) ktc24, Spineth and Boomer are not far behind, with 21, 21 and 20 respectively; and FantasyIcon lurks next with 15. All are contenders. Watch this space. Finally, the standings in the all-time Concorde League: Code: TA Name Overall 1. Gus172 392 2. Faye Valentine 349 3. Number1Ump 278 4. nokitano 226 5. vicsark 210 6. snowbird 144 7. SuperPenguin17 143 8. Nalazoo 133 9. CastlePage 125 10. copper metallic 122 Gus reigns supreme, closely followed by Faye. Ump is a bit farther behind. Can he still catch up? Then he better start showing some consistent results again. We know you can do it, Ump! Nokitano and Sheriff Vic are firmly in 4th/5th, but one wonders for how long. It's time for Vic to leave his Blockheads alone and pay attention to his fleet. It is starting to rust. Behind them there's a group of active members who still need to abridge 70-80 points. That's three wins, five 2nd or 3rd places, or eight 4th/5ths for the likes of Snowbird, Penguin, Nalazoo and Castle. All have shown capable, so a lot can happen. Go for it, folks! Cheers, M.
Accessible MOFOs In the heat of the moment a lot has been said during the last few days. Kudos to Bido for making one of the most apt remarks. I've been aware of this for some time, and hope to change this at the earliest opportunity. I think we can all agree that it's not desirable to have the MOFO rankings sit with one forum member only. Ideally they should live in the SUCK, were everyone can see all of it (including 11th and lower places, so you can see how far you have to go), and can take turns in updating in case Merlion gets food poisoning and becomes the subject of a heated gender discussion again. So Mo, you're right and we're working on it. Also glad to see you decided to revert to your backup and intend to compete for the rankings again. Cheers, M.
I'm probably too late, but just in case... Class 1: Mapple, any part Class 2: None Class 3: None GC: leapingliz42
I agree. I applaud the graciousness and am happy some have decided to stay. As far as I'm concerned everyone is welcome, as long as you want to play fair. This wording amused me. It's true that life gets busy and I find myself unable to play for a couple days. Then I'll find a couple hours one evenings and fling some planes to relax. +1
So what's up with our forum page numbers? It's still showing 2 extra inaccessible page numbers. Clicking on the "last" page link takes me to the antepenultimate page. It's been this way for weeks. I noticed that the Street Fighter IV Volt thread on this forum -- which has over double the number of our post count -- appears normal. The last page link takes you to the last page number. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=98958 So.... who here actually reads the Bitbook? It's weird. I loved reading the Bitbook in Tiny Tower, but it never caught on when I started playing Pocket Planes. (y) <---- well, that would have appeared as a thumbs up in Facebook. ... Jonesy, pass the popcorn (it's buttered, right?) and let's all get back to flinging planes across the globe ...
I'll take a blimp body and either a starship engine or controls if there are any left. Thanks for your generosity My GC name is YeltoThorpy
Quick preview of the Belfast MOFO rankings. I'd almost called them provisional results, but that's a bit of a loaded term in Belfast. So we'll stick with intermediary. 5th Silver Yoke after one-and-a-half races: Code: TA Name Month5 1. Gus172 50 2. SuperPenguin17 33 3. Faye Valentine 26 4. snowbird 22 5. spineth 15 6. Yitzc77 12 7. el Carmo Grande 12 8. Lynsie13 9 9. Nalazoo 8 10. ktc24 6 Gus leads. Again. Yawn. (OK, strike that.) Well deserved, Gus! Penguin in 2nd, Faye in 3rd. Differences are small. Snowbird and Spineth are not very far behind, it's starting to look like Spineth is set to become a new fixture in the top rankings. Ditto for Yitzhak and El Carmo Grande, who looks like he'll become El Carmo Grandissimo in the near future. Lynsie, Nalazoo, ktc24 and Stogie Jerry are in the next little group. And of course it's still early days. Go get 'em, folks! And be careful out there. Cheers, M.
Yeah...but what is the point of others running it? I feel you are a discerning voice of reason and fair judge and pretty damn funny. To pass that off and the crazy acronyms to someone else would be an injustice. So what if you want to remain mysterious and leave the gender question open for debate. You do an excellent job and just because one person has an opinion, don't let it force you from doing what you are good at. PLEASE!
Looks like I missed a lot the last few days... Hoping to make a last minute dash here...currently 15th. For some reason I just don't do well when the Class 1 event city is so close to a Class 3. I do much better when the Class 1 is more remote like the Pevek one a few events ago. Cheers
