I know I'm fairly new to the game and the forums, but here's my 2 cents anyway. It's disheartening that people are cheating and taking away from the fun competitive nature of the game (I mean how can people who are not cheating compete with the people that are? It's impossible). I played the game when it first came out, but it became boring after level 20 or so. I deleted the app until my brother introduced me to the forums and all the amazing people in the TA1 group (no, we are not sharing a GC name nor are we playing for each other. He is an active member on here and we are both competitive and strive to beat each other. Just clarifying that, haha ) I'm a very competitive person, and the MOFO rankings made it where I did not become bored with the game. Not only did the MOFO ranking help with the boredom but so did reading the forums...that is until the last couple of weeks. Now the forums are nothing but a bunch of he said she said, he/she did this, or he/she did that crap (not near as fun to read). I admit, I'm unhappy with all the cheating but we keep beating a dead horse. If you've cheated, be a man/woman and come forward and admit it, regardless of how big or small the "cheat" was. Scratch those people from the results in the MOFO rankings and make them earn the respect of the TA1 members and a spot back in the rankings if he/she so desires. We can't kick anyone out of TA1. Sure, we can form a new team, but who is going to say who we tell that team name to, and how will be all communicate where "outsiders" won't figure that name out? Once again, that's almost impossible. This is a game. It is a fun, drama free, stress relief that you can absent mindedly play, but it is becoming a game full of drama. The world has enough drama, let it go on here! That's just my southern way of thinking. If you don't agree with me that's fine, no hard feeling. If you do, that's fine too. Edit: I was typing this at the same time as Merlion was typing the above post, so I had yet to see his/her post. I stated that everyone be given a second chance to earn TA1's respect back, but the President of the MOFO rankings has spoken and it's time for them to go. (They would probably never be trusted again anyway ) They may still appear in the screenshots, but we TA1ers know that the all knowing Merlion will keep them out of the MOFO rankings!
Merlion: I'm going to delete the results upon which doubts have been cast. Oamoam and ZJZKim will be permanently removed from the rankings. Oam, I respect your decision to come clean (at least you have that over Lance Armstrong) but no one will trust your results after this and this would invalidate the rankings. MKheidr's and Uburblitz's results will be removed from the Manchester, Punta Arenas, and Belfast events. Mo and Blitz are kindly invited to compete on future events but will be watched for signs of ibbing (Infinite Bux Boosting). OK. The revolutionist is killed. Congrats. I've dreamed everyone uses bomb to compete. Then GUS may break even 100K club. And we can play in different modes "Bomb Mode" or "Anti-Bomb Mode" or "Limited Bomb Mode". Undoubtedly this new tech can boost TA1 to be the permanent 1st flight crew. Now I think it's all of my imagination. Tricks are always tricks. But please be aware that ZJZKim is innocent. He's my friend but he knows nothing about Bomb or other tricks even the MOFO ranks itself.
I'm sorry, Oam, but I had no choice. The bomb game you describe just isn't the MOFO game, so the rankings shouldn't apply anyway. And even the appearance of having this advantage over others who don't use bombs was clearly having a bad effect on their fun and motivation to compete. Also be aware that 'Oam the Revolutionary' has not been killed. You have only been removed from the MOFO rankings. That's not the same thing at all. Your contributions to this forum are still welcome, and as long as you're a part of this crew your results will even count towards the TA1 total. I have neither influence nor opinion on that. Indeed I respect you for being open and honest about your methods, and even if I don't agree with them, they do form a contribution to this forum. Cheers, M.
Thanks to all and have a nice flight!! Well Merlion, I respect your decision. Nice to know so many lovely flyers in the forum. I choose back to the hunting life, maybe this is more suitable for me.
Who is Lynsie's brother? The mystery is there...think about it. She doesn't claim a city on the spreadsheet. She says her bro is a very active TA member, meaning they post a lot. Talks about the south, so most likely they are in the US but not necessarily. She speaks extremely highly of Merlion which could lead one to believe that she is Merlion's sister. She also says "he is very active" which means we could end the Merlion mystery too! My gut says it is penguin. But who knows!
Ha, my bad! It's 2:33 am my time and due to my sudden onset insomnia I didn't take that in the right way. That and in part because of all the accusations lately. I will tell you that you have some things correct and some things incorrect as to who I am and where I'm from. Sorry for not taking that completely as a joke. My apologies!
All good...but you gave some of it away. So you are in Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Tennessee, or the panhandle of Fla. Hmmm..has to be number 1 ump then.
I figured I could give a timezone away. That narrows it down some, but not completely. You may be right, but then again you could be wrong
Thanks to Lynsie & Merlion!! I'm glad we still have some manner of refinement and tolerance within our ranks. On today's board at my work is the quote: "The measure of a man's real character is what he would do if he knew he would never be found out" ~ Thomas B. Macauley (1800 - 1859) It's obvious that humans have been trying to skirt the system for many centuries and while it brings about ingenuity, it also brings dirty laundry and heartache with it. I personally abhore cheating, but not the cheaters. Additionally, I concur with the statement it would be impossible to trust their statistics when it comes to the competitions, which I thoroughly enjoy even though I routinely fall between 30 - 40th place. I would venture to say Oam et al can stay if he likes, however, when it comes to competition he won't get a grade on the course he can only audit it . Each of us has only one person to answer to when we look in the mirror and ask "Did I do it right today?" Edit:... Just as I suspected...34th
Well since Merlion is the one with the MOFO rankings we can't argue with him. I won't be competing for the MOFO rankings anymore. I will fling jobs casually for events with prizes. I will gladly help others by gifting them planes, it is not like it cost me something. I can also provide almost unlimited mystery parts. And with time, will fade away. But you can't take from me that i was a part from the crew who defeated TA for the first time Or i can restore to the save i have backed up before all this happened
Wow, what a dramatic last couple of pages. Just catching up now. No wonder I am able to challenge for the top 10 this event, looks like a lot of people have been discouraged. Ah well.
I think people will be back soon. It seems a lot of people have had a similar thought and stopped pushing for events with small fleets and are bux sitting to build up their slots and get bigger fleets to try and compete with the top players (who we now know some were getting their massive job numbers by dishonest means). I'm pushing on with getting bux to get more slots to dedicate to events, i'm very glad that we had the Seq-M plane event a while back so i'm not spending anything on the big planes needed for bux sitting as that could get expensive. It seems one good thing to come out of this cheating by certain players is that soon the top ten MOFO competition will be very competative with different names hitting the top as more players get swarms of Roo's, SK's or Mapples, or something else as I am trialling next event, perfectly above board by the way, just an unexpected mix of aircraft I want to try on a small scale to see if it will work before going full scale. All will be revealed later after I have run the test whether it succeds or fails.
