When the Event is close in, like Manchester, it can become more of a "chore"...unless you balance it by having some planes flying longer distances, say like coming from Istanbul & Cairo. You also have to decide if you're going to go down your whole list of planes, your BUX sitters first, or your Event jobs first. BUX sitters will typically bubble to the top of your plane list. Coloring them something that stands out - like Lime Green, makes them easy to spot if you're scrolling through your list. For Event, you'll find the planes at the bottom of the list so you'd an work up from the bottoms...if you only have a few minutes and want to send jobs. or...just work your way down the list of planes as time permits. The GREAT thing with Pocket Planes - LOTS of different ways to play, based on what YOU like. I found BUX sitting to be boring...so I came up with a fill, hop & drop method for BUX collection...I think that's what helps me keep the game fun & interesting. I've been debating on only picking up BUX jobs that are 4 & higher...but, I just can't bear to leave those singles behind. My fill, hop and drop method... Say Class 3 plane is in Seoul - it picks up any BUX jobs, plus Event jobs. When full, it "hops" to Beijing only if: The plane has any Beijing BUX jobs or There are BOTH Istanbul & Cairo BUX jobs on the plane. At Beijing: "Drop" either Istanbul OR Cairo Bux jobs so I can route the Class 1 plane through one or the other. Check to see if there are BOTH Paris & London BUX jobs and will offload one or the other...idea is to be able to land say at London, will Manchester Event jobs and all other BUX jobs. Turnaround...now, plane unloads & fills with jobs from the top...or, if it seems like there are a LOT of jobs going somewhere that are sitting ther...BUX & coins Jobs showing, I'll fill with those. So my planes go here, there & everywhere. That's what keeps the game interesting for me...it's like a puzzle. 2nd example: what if Event is near Beijing...and plane I'm filling is in London and picks up BUX jobs for cities in the opposite direction? That's where the "hop & drop" comes in...similar to standard BUX sitting. Planes hops & drops any BUX not going toward Beijing. I still do other checks for BUX jobs going through Istanbul or Cairo & make sure there aren't both Beijing & Seoul on the plane together.
Congrats to Spineth indeed... Too bad about the empty places on the screen. Remind me to start one of my rants against walled gardens again, one of these days... One idea would be to send an iPhone to anyone who has over 55 slots Cheers, M.
Get blimps. Send them on 3-9 hour flights. You can easily manage 50+ planes that way. Plus, they cost almost nothing to fly so you don't need to bother too much about the 25% bonus. Makes for very relaxed flying. Cheers, M.
Well up until now the Penguin has been a coins only kind of guy. But.. It's clear to him now that once you have around 25 slots it takes forever to get to the next one. If you don't hear from me for a while its because I've officially become a bux sitter. Have sequoia M's in LA, Mex City, Chi, NY, Tehran, Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Seoul and Tokyo with Paris being my central hub. Wish me luck. Plan on doing an exchange at 40,000. Something Gus said really hit me. "I can work my butt off with 8 planes (I use 20) or run 50 planes."
It is a shame. We can't see the android users in the leader boards [/QUOTE] How do you think WE feel? We can't see iphone OR android users!!! Tell gus I said thanks! Nalazoo With the strategy you use if you have enough class 3 cities open, it would make more sense to use the closest class 3 city to the event city and do swaps that way. Super opening a ton of class 3 cities fully upgraded will get you there so much quicker.Trust me! Or...ask vic.
Is that the problem? I just thought I was never within 10 rankings of my 2 total PP friends. I seem to be staying in the 12th spot, even with taking time off to work and sleep and life and stuff. Must be a slower event. Oh, thanks for the congrats! I haven't filled my 55 slots yet, waiting to see just how I want to configure my fleet.
Just had my first meet in Paris. Should yield about 400 bux. I hope to do this 2-3 times a day for a month. I'm on a phone now. Can someone look at the bux exchange calc sheet and see how many bux I need to go from 25 slots to 40?
30 is indeed an informal limit. Below that, you can fling planes "casually" fast enough to get the majority of them in the air. Over 30, I did specialize parts of my fleet. Meaning that some planes are not used sometimes. I have the Bux fleet (10 cyclones M for my 10 permanent airports). These may go nuts on class 3 events. I usually don't check them. The event Cloudliners fleet (8 Clouds P/C that transport event jobs to the closest class 3 airport). The event fleet (between 10 and 15 planes, depending on the event). The rest is the regular fleet (cyclones m mostly) that transport the Bux layovers with the 25% bonus or event jobs or whatever). Each type of fleet is color coded. As it's been said before, this enables me to focus on some of the different fleets depending on the time I have or what I want to do. I may focus on the event fleets only for example. Tbh a few moths ago, I thought more than 30 planes was not doable. Now I'm confident that I can manage more than my 54 when I'll do my next Bux exchange (back at 29k, aiming for 65k)
There goes London! Grrr, London closed! Must be bad karma for flying planes when I should be working!
You should have at least 3 of us...flysher, me, and squallid plus their was another one that posted here today. Am i missing anyone? Super Why only 400/pop? Even with a limited amount of cities and filling 70 percent full you should be around 500 per.
I have pairs of cities, left from trying BUX sitting. Let me see if I understand...so for the Manchester event, fly everything into Paris, unload completely, then pick up only EVENT jobs and deliver to London. Fly back to Paris empty or with any BUX that were in London, then fill and return? I appreciate the input
Whatcha making? We can "fly" in... LOL. Happy I had part of my fleet, longer range planes, flying from Paris.
Thanks for posting an update of your strategy. I must have subconciously read your previous post and applied it to my game as I am playing something similar in my game all be it slightly smaller as I have less plane slots at the moment. I have the bux collection part of the fleet but not the spare capacity as yet to have the second part of your strategy. My only real tweak is that I load up the planes as soon as they land with as many jobs for London as possible (my main hub) then fill up with any bux jobs, except single bux ones, replacing London jobs with bux jobs as they appear. When the other plane feeding that outlying airport gets back from London, fully loaded with bux jobs topped up with normal jobs for that place, the plane sat at the airport is sent to London. Hope this is clear what I mean, it makes sense to me but I can see my phone and what is going on. At the moment I am only making about 200-300 a day (400 on a good day) but I have been busy at work and also it's not at the scale of your fleet as yet but hopefully I can add a couple more slots soon and open the next couple of airports. Right I have left my planes too long and have written too much so will end here.
