Hmmmm...since I'll have limited time to play Thurs-Sat, putting a variety of planes at my class 3 airports: Mexico Los Angeles Chicago New York I have an assortment of Sea Knights, Roos, Mowhawks and Mapples. Since everything goes back empty, I'll have a few Cloudliners and Cyclones flitting around to bring in layovers and pick up BUX. Thinking of using a clockwise rotation for those so I know where to send, and I'll have a couple as final delivery to clear up BUX layovers. Edit: oh, and Kringle Kruisers too! First Mystery Part found!
In the words of Scooby..."Rut rho!" Say it ain't so! Wait and see when they land. I've seen that before, where they appear to still have peeps on them until they arrive back.
If anyone else is crazy enough to fly your brood over to Cancun, here is the route I used for range upgraded Sea Knights: Seoul > Shanghai > Lhasa > Khandahar > Muscat > Port Sudan > Kaduna > Monrovia > Fortaleza > Georgetown > Panama City > Cancun. Roos can skip Khandahar and Panama City.
Can anybody answer my question, does the distance matter when bux boosting empty planes back. Is it always 1 bux or does it make a difference Edit : No worries just found out boosting a plane back from Mexico city to London is just 1 Bux
Im sure this has been suggested here before but I would love to see an option in game to modify the seating options in each airplane. Put a cost on it (bux based on plane size and desired changes?) And allow us to have whatever sort of split we wish in our planes. And as always, new planes nimble!!!!
Yupp i was bux boosting 43 planes went to bed after sending off my last batch of planes and woke up to awesome news!! Great job TA1
Tip for you high rollin' big spenders. I discovered by accident that it is cheaper to bux boost each one way trip separately rather than boost the round trip. Example- Sea Knight fully loaded NY to Cancun and back empty. NY to Cancun one way boost costs 3 bux + empty return costs 1 bux = 4 bux. To boost the same trip round trip costs 7 bux. Takes a few more clicks but saves a lot of bux.
To the victors go the spoils; to the MOFOs the points Congrats all, this is a great achievement! TA begat TA1, and now the son beat the father. (Is there a bit of Oedipus in all of this?) I can't help but wonder what's causing this. Clearly it's helped by some high rollers joining us from TA. Do the MOFOs play a roll? Did the TA-ers join because they want to get in on the act? Or did they just want to create empty lines in our screenshots? If it's the latter they clearly didn't succeed. The end result was a great picture of only known players. Go TA!! Anyway, on to the MOFO rankings. A lot happened after the halfway results I posted earlier. Oamoam has made run for it, ending up topside at the expense of Nalazoo. Gus, 'Zoo, Penguin and Nokitano defended their positions in the top, and Boomer, Train Man and Stogie Jerry followed suit. Faye and Vic managed to get in the points by the skin of their teeth. Well done all! 1st place and the Kringle Kruiser go to Oamoam, 6,000 jobs. 2nd and the Kringle part: Nalazoo, 5,407 3rd and ditto (same onwards): Gus, 4,942 4th: Nokitano, 4,136 5th: Boomer, 3,012 6th: Penguin, 2,891 7th: Train, 2,741 8th: Faye, 2,727 9th: Jerry Cruz, 2,684 10th: Vic, 2,526 This gets us to the 4th Sequoia Cup, 7 races down and two to go (Al Fashr results in brackets): 1st Place: Gus, 130 points (1st, 115) 2nd: Faye, 79 (2nd, 75) 3rd: Nalazoo, 71 (5th, 53) 4th: Penguin, 67 (4th, 59) 5th: Tater, 63 (3rd, 63) 6th: Oamoam, 43 (10th, 18) 7th: Jmac, 42 (6th, 42) 8th: Lynsie, 39 (7th, 39) 9th: RoboBoto, 28 (8th, 28) 10th: Snowbird, 24 (9th, 24) Gus did well in defending the top spot. Faye stayed in 2nd thanks to Nalazoo being overtaken by others. But 'Zoo scored 3rd, racing past Tater and Penguin. Then we have the battle for 4th/5th, and what a fight it is. Penguin overtook Tater, but Tater remains poised to get back at him. Special attention to the bloke in 6th: Oamoam. He's literally racing up the rankings, and he looks to become a fixture in the top rankings. Welcome to the Mile High Club! Two more wins will get him to 93 points, which means he can't beat Gus any more, at least not in the 4th Sequoia Cup. But the podium is still within reach. And finally, an honourable mention for Nokitano, who made a great comeback. He stayed just 2 points short of today's rankings, ending up in 11th. But one more strong showing and he'll be back. In theory, Gus can only be passed by Faye, who'll need at least one win, plus Gus sitting on his hands. Fat chance, methinks... On to the Concorde League. What are the overall standings? 1st: Gus, 311 (2nd, 296) 2nd: Faye, 310 (1st, 306) 3rd: Ump, 277 (3rd, 277) 4th: Nokitano, 223 (4th, 211) 5th: Vic, 209 (5th, 208) 6th: Snowbird, 130 (6th, 130) 7th: Copper, 122 (7th, 122) 8th: Coastcat, 117 (8th, 117) 9th: Nalazoo, 100 (15th, 82) 10th: Castle, 100 (9th, 100) This is pretty much as reported earlier. Gus, as predicted, takes 1st place from Flingin' Faye. The rest of the Top Ten isn't changed much. 'Zoo scales the Top Ten, kicking out North, who drops to 12th. Penguin's new nickname is SlightlyMoreNorth, since he's in 11th with 97 points while SlightlyNorth is in 12th with 96. The Penguin will make it into the Top Ten not too long from now, if he keeps this up. And Oamoam? He lurks in 23rd, with 43 points. Three more wins will get him in the Top Ten. And the 1st Concorde League still has 71 races to go... Great stuff, folks, and more to come. And congrats again. We are the Champions!! Cheers, M.
I wanted to provide an update and new tweaks to my previously posted BUX strategy for you guys and gals. Previous post can be read here: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2627906&postcount=12149 I have revamped my BUX collecting strategy in a few different ways since posting this. The biggest change comes in that I only operate 2 - 3 coin generating flights at the max now. I'm purely a bux operation most of the time, retaining around 1.2 - 1.5 million coins to fund the city meets. Out of boredom I've added a Nome > Juneau > LA route, and Anadyr > Magadan > Tokyo, both serviced by Mapples. Again these are purely bux routes, and while the class 1 sides of these routes don't generate a ton of bux themselves, OTHER airports spit out bux jobs so often that I have to run multiple bux planes to the class 3s servicing them. I still have most of class 3 cities listed in the previous post, however I've added London and a few others to the mix, with bux planes in both london/paris that swap when they reach about 70-80% capacity. These jobs generate very often it seems, and since its the middle of the map they are averaging 4 - 5 bux jobs most of the time. Each airport still has it's own green colored bux sitter, named according to the city ( NYCB, PARB, LONB, TOKB, etc) I found that I consistently have leftover jobs after city meets, I just can't meet the demand for spots on the outbound flights ( this is mostly because of the Paris/London swap I do I suspect). Because of this, I added a new group of Seq-M to the fleet, colored blue and named MISC1, MISC2, MISC3, etc. These planes are there to clean up scraps, get bux boosted for jobs that I miss with regular sitters, and sometimes fly for a coin profit if I'm running low. At the moment I reserve a few slots for events, typically just enough to complete the 50 required. ( sorry TA1!) This will eventually change when I double my slots from 24 to 50+, at that point I'll become competitive and try to climb the ranks with the rest of you Finally, the results. After almost 2 months of this strategy I have aquired 20,000 bux. Now this may not seem like a lot to most of you, but read on first! The average city meet takes me anywhere from 5 - 8 refreshes to have enough on board to send everyone to Paris. Once everything arrives, the sorting process takes me about 10 - 15 minutes, because I have to load planes as I unload them in order to stay below the 60 layover cap. This means I have to go back through the same planes multiple times to get things done. Also, the overall average has been 400 - 600 bux per sort! With moderate play, ( 1 - 2 hours per day off and on I'd guess) I've been making around a thousand bux a day. I aim to do at least 1 city meet per day when I play. It's been off and on a lot lately due to work/ moving / baby on the way, but I'm confident that if I upped my play time I'd be able to rake in 1.5 - 2k bux per day. Anyway, sorry for the wall of text! Hope you all enjoyed reading this, and please feel free to give me feedback/make suggestions on ways to improve! Flysh
Grats to all! I took some time to play PP this event, but didn't make that much progress as real life demanded many hours. But it was really tough. Despite my efforts, I remained in the 1x and ending up 13th Only Faye managed to squeeze back into the Top 10. I really don't know how she does it. But well done !
lol, #1 guy for TouchArcade crew has already done 4320 jobs for Cancun! Someone is pissed that TA1 managed to get #1 crew in Pevek I'm still unwinding, had a lot of Magadan (known for its Lenin statue), Vladivostok and Pevek high Bux layovers all over the world. Not very fond of the idea of scrolling through more HAB parts, I guess I'll be resting in Cancun
