I wondered why my planes couldn't get clearance to take off or land, its Gus's swarm taking up all the airspace My Small Highly Insignificant Team of planes (I will let you sort out that acronym yourselves ) is getting flattened at the minute. I've got my strategy sorted so i'm bringing in loads of cash and bux but as yet don't have the spaces to run many planes to an event. One other good thing about this event is I can do the 100 jobs to Tiksi afterwards and get that achievement out of the way.
MOFOs after Al Fashr: the Heat of the Sahel Hi All, Sorry for my absence for the past 24 hours but I had to deal with a small catastrophe. Let me put it this way: a bad oyster doesn't kill you, but there were times the past night that I wished it would. Anyway, I've dragged myself out of bed late this morning and am now pretending to be alive. Funny to see that only a couple of hours of absence caused a great deal of uncertainty and speculation about my gender. Can't leave you guys and girls alone... And finally, just to clear up a misunderstanding: the photo I posted a while ago with Sequoias coming out of ears was not of myself. I needed a proper frontal mugshot with ears big enough to produce Sequoias, so grabbed a random person from the internet On to the business everybody's been waiting for: the (revised) MOFO standings. As you know there's been a rule change, throwing out the unknowns instead of allocating points to them, and it's been done retrospectively, so that the overall rankings too are up to date. You will notice some slight differences. The results from Al Fashr: The mighty winner of today: Penguin, who can truly be called a SuperPenguin, with 7653 recorded jobs. Not a record, but a VERY respectable number! In 2nd place we have a promising newcomer, Oamoam0818, with 6628 jobs. We will no doubt hear more from him. (Or is it a her? Oh, the uncertainty!) The Al Fashr podium is completed with a familiar face in 3rd, Mighty Gus 'The Swarm', with 4412 jobs. Nalazoo in 4th with 4382 missed the podium by 30 jobs. That's just 8 'Roos or 6 Sea Knights, 'Zoo! Lynsie in 5th with 3732; Flingin' Faye 6th with 3674; Boomer on 7 with 3074; Jerry Cruz 8th, 2740; Robo 9th, 2681; and ktc24 10th, with 2024. It was a fierce fight, down there in the Sahel. The most heroic struggle was Penguin's who had to fight off a nameless and faceless opponent who kept coming after him, beating him senseless with a 600 jobs difference, time and again. But he kept coming back, and he's not been deterred, as we can see in the Arctic freezes of Pevek. Way to go, Penguin! That's the spirit. Who are we missing? Ump and Vic, both just outside the points in 11th and 12th; 3wapp and another promising newcomer, El Carmo Grande in 13th and 14th; and Icon in 15th. Far south of this we find SlightlyNorth in 21st (what happened, North? Getting older?), and slightly south of him yours truly, in 22nd... On to the Sequoia Cup, Month 4, six races down and three to go (this is where the revisions kick in a little): Gus rules with 115 points; Faye follows suit with 75; Tater 3rd with 63, closely followed by Penguin in 4th with 59; Nalazoo in 5th with 53; Jmacjmac 6th, 42; Lynsie 7th, 39; Robo 8th, 28; Snowbird 9th, 24; and Oamoam in 10th, with 18 points after only one race. Very promising! Copper Metallic, Ken Reiss, and Thefantasyicon are still in the running to make the Top Ten before month's end: they all have 14 points. And so is Number1Ump, with 12 points. C'mon, Ump! And finally, the overall standings of the Concorde League. Things are really heating up here: Faye is still in the lead, with 306 points. Gus is breathing down his neck, with 296 (or is it hers? Sorry) Ump is not far behind with 277. And even Nokitano, 211, and Vic, 208, have plenty of opportunity to catch up if they put their minds (and their planes) to it. Snowbird in 6th, 130; Copper Metallic in 7th, 122; Coastcat 8th, 117; castle 9th, 100; and SlightlyNorth in 10th, 96 points. North, if we don't hear from you soon you're going to drop out of the Top Ten! Strong contenders knocking on the doors are PocketDaddy in 11th with 95, only 1 point south of North; and the unfatiguable Penguin, 89 points. Ken Reiss (3500), 'Zoo and 'Tater are also in the 80s. This is turning out to be quite the race, people. Can't wait for the next result, when the exhausted contenders will leave the Pevekian tundras with frostbitten cheeks, blackened toes, and icicles hanging from their wingtips. Cheers, M. PS Since the rankings have been revised due to the rule change, for Months 1-3 we revert to the first published MOFO post that also (by accident) didn't take unknowns into account (http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2686939&postcount=13596). The revised rankings, published later, are no longer valid.
NimbleBit MORONS for Al Fashr. And Pevek? It seems that a Merlion's work is never done. Remember I suggested to revive the NimbleBits MORONS for Al Fashr, the second bux only event in a row? I pledged a Sea Knight but never got a response. Possibly because I buried the question in a post about another subject. Or maybe because everybody was too busy wondering about my gender? Anyway, out of the blue came a gift from Dinyctis of four complete Sea Knights. Thanks, Dinyctis! I tried to send you a PM but it wouldn't send so maybe your actual GC is slightly different? Please contact me on Merlionine. Four SKs precisely cover one complete plane plus 9 single parts. So I will use Dinyctis's gift to fulfill the Al Fashr MORONS. Grateful recipients can thank him if they wish. Penguin wil receive the full SK; Oamoam, Gus, 'Zoo, Lynsie, Faye, Boomer, Jerry, Robo and ktc24 will each receive a part. (Assuming they're all on my list, which I think is the case.) Enjoy! Cheers, M. PS Any ideas for the Pevek MORONS? I suggest a Kringle Kruiser, and will pledge the first one. 9 More parts will be needed. Suggestions and/or parts welcome! Also, I think Dinyctis has come up with the perfect solution for the problem that donors sometimes win their own parts. I suggest we appoint one person for each bux only event, who collects all the prize donations (after we agreed what those should be in the posts - not right away please) and who then doles them out when the results are in. Volunteers welcome!
So sorry about that ... I never imagined that one little pronoun could cause such a commotion. Thanks for the SK part. Sorry, I missed your original post about the Al Fashir MORONS. I've entered in my pledge for the Pevek MORONS in the Notes column of the SUCK. Nearly 2am, off to bed soon ... will try to fling more planes toward Pevek tomorrow in the hopes of staying afloat on the leaderboard. I'm loving the relaxed pace of Pevek.

Oh sure, *now* you deny it. Anyway, I think I still have a Kringle Kruiser I can donate to the event. There's no chance of me cracking the top 10 anytime soon.
Great read as always Merlion. Thank you. Sorry for all the doubt about your gender, we knew you were a ______ the whole time.
Cool, I went ahead and approved your GC request and your Mapple parts are sitting in your inbox. Feel free to send the Blimp parts at your convenience.
We need more TA1 members sending jobs to Pevek! We are only 3000 jobs behind TA. I'll pledge one rare plane part (from Blimp, Huey, HAB or SK) for every TouchArcade1 crew member under level 40 that will send at least 100 jobs to Pevek!! (just reply to this post, leaderboard screenshot if possible, and I must have you as GC friend already. Alright. I'm back full fledged for this event. Took a little road trip down to Dallas last night or the wifey's birthday. Now back to what Penguin does best.. Flying. As ironic as that may be..
Argh bloody annoying marketplace again. Am getting parts to build my next two Seq-M and all it is putting out are bodies and engines. I have seen 5-10 of each of them today but no controls at all. Same with Kangaroos too, I am getting lots of some parts but not others. How can I improve my Small Highly Insignificant Team of Kanga's and change it into a Supreme Wicked All-conquering Really Mega (team) of Kanga's if the market is against me, and yes my brain did let me down for the last acronym, if anyone can do better let me know
Here's a screenshot to verify my jobs and level. Also, I can distribute the parts to lower level players if you would like.
I'll pledge a full seq m or cloudliner for any android player that finishes in the top 15 that is already a TA1 member.
