    Hey PT ;)

For everybody, a quick reminder on the timing of Bux exchange to buy plane slots:

I saw in many few posts lately a 50k Bux target.
That should not be a fixed number at all.
It should depend only on your actual plane slots.
The rule of thumb I'd advise would be to make a Bux exchange to add at least 4 slots or 25% of your existing slots.

Doing an exchange for less slots is a waste of Bux because the value of the Bux exchanged goes higher the more you trade.
But waiting too long for an exchange is a waste of time and energy. Because with more plane slots, you'll be adding Bux way faster and easier.

Use The tool in the TA1 spreadsheet, and have a look at what your actual setup and how many Bux you'll need.
    https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?pli=1&key=0Ale0JqVq80xJdFprbi0xMmF2RG94TEdIYWlqOEtHRUE&f=true&noheader=false&gid=10

Using the Bux calc, assuming you have zero cash:
If you got 12 slots aim for 16, 1250 Bux needed
If you got 20 slots, aim for 25, 5400 Bux needed
If you got 32, aim for 40, 21k Bux needed
    And so on...
Remind to keep a few hundred Bux on the side to buy plane parts and build planes.

I made 4 exchanges so far, 1500, 5000, 25k (that was a game changer, went up to 40 planes) and then the Bux kept flowing, so I made a last one at 50k a few months ago.
And I'm back at 22k without even chasing Bux or playing that much

To resume, my advice is :
Don't be shy to do an exchange. The Bux you traded will come back easily with more planes in the air! ;)

How much money would you guys keep in the bank cash and bux wise. I'm lvl 30 running 17 slots at the moment and want to buy the next few plane slots so I can run my strategy without compromising it to do global events.
How much cash would you leave spare for buying airports and upgrading/advertising them and how many bux to buy the plane bits with. I'm thinking approx 400-500K cash and 200-300 bux spare but could I get by with less on the thinking that with more slots I'll make money and bux quicker.

Love to hear your thoughts on this, thanks

500k and 250 Bux spare looks good to me.
There's no use to hoard cashore anyway, it's better to spend it buying and upgrading airports, and plane slots.
Also when exchanging Bux, it's better to exchange all your Bux at once (minus the spare few hundreds) due to the trade rate.

I agree that 500k and 250 bux looks good on paper as Vic said...except he is missing the X factor and that is knowing what strategy you are running. In theory though that amount should cover most strategies, unless you have some wild one we haven't seen. Do share!

To you iphone people...how about updating the rankings for the current event once in awhile! Ohhh wait I'm about the only one not on iPhone. So I guess that is for everyone. 148 members and no ine knows how to update...jeeez :)

Hey guys! Not really new to PP, but new to the forum I guess. I'm lvl 25, I have a pretty decent fleet I think, but I'm not sure I'm using my planes correctly. Here's what I've got:

    1 sequoia P
    1 sequoia M
    2 fog buster P
    2 fog buster M
    1 tetra M
    1 pearjet P
    1 pearjet M
    2 aeroeagle M
    1 aeroeagle P
    1 aeroeagle M
2 kangaroo P for events in small airports
And a ton of smaller planes locked up in my hangar

What I do is load up a plane at LA for the 25% bonus and fly it straight across to anything along the Tokyo, shanghai, Guangzhou line. I'm sure there's a meta game that I'm totally missing. Any input would be great

I'd personally like a button on the jobs screen that show you what's on your plane now. Maybe with the addition of showing the other jobs at the airport to those destinations.

    Attention Toucharcade1 Flight Crew...

Our staff doctors in conjunction with our mechanics report that the damage to plane rugs is a result of "birling" shoes being worn on the plane. We know that seeing plaid causes confusion. We advise diligent screening to avoid delays.

Additionally, all planes are being equipped with state-of-the-art air purification systems, after reports that Lumber Jacks and Lumber Jills do not mind how they smell after "wetting" from log-rolling. You can take them out of the pond...but, the smell of the pond remains.

The weather in Christchurch is expected to be in the 70s today, with partially cloudy skies.

It had come to our attention that you have taken the spirit of the Lumber Games to the sky! We applaud you for taking the spirit of the Lumberjack Olympics to the sky. While you have tried to be sly and hide it, our deductive powers see that you are competing as follows:
    • Logrolling - trying to knock your opponent off the log. Fast and furious fingers are trying to knock Faye out of the top 10.
    • 90 Foot Speed Climb - while Gus can reach great heights...who will climb from the lower levels to the top the fastest today??
    • Hot Saw - down, up, down...it's what our planes do day in and day out. Additionally, it's what the names on the leaderboard have been doing...any prolonged rest is certain to affect your standngs in MOFO

Now...get back to finger flinging fun (FFF)!

Would be interested in knowing how you guys are handling Christchurch?

I currently have a 4 Sequoias dropping off at Jakarta. The using a 4 Aeroeagles to shuttle from Jakarta to Melbourne and Sydney where a pair of Kangaroos delivers.

    Thoughts?

That's top-notch advice - even exchanging 11k bux will take me up to 30 plane slots, so I think I'll do that and go from there. Thanks Vic!

Yep.. I exchanged around the 8000 bux mark to go from 19(20?) to 24 because I got a bit impatient... This is also why I added the "How many bux do I need to exchange to go from X to Y slots?" because I did it long hand (quadratic method ...) and decided that everyone else would want to be able to do the same thing so why not contribute?

As an infrequent/consistent player (fling planes 2x a day maybe), i'm back up to 6000 bux since I exchanged.

As for the Coin/Bux question asked earlier, I learned an important lesson, I would try to retain around 100k in coins after buying slots so that you can fly your planes without regards to the coins, per se. You don't make the profit until landing and if you don't have the coins to get off the ground . . .

    all the best,

    t

I'm using 2 Sequioas and one Cyclone carrying jobs from Tokyo, Shanghai and Seoul to Manila. Then 4 Aeroeagles from Manila to Sydney. I have 5 Kangaroos shuttling jobs to Christchurch from Sydney and 4 between Manila and Christchurch. Just trying to stay in the top 5.

I have 26 mapples leaving Jakarta flying to Christchurch and coming back empty. Doesn't generate a lot as far as job count goes. But it's an easy strategy that will get me top 5.

They make 1,374 for the round trip too.. So it's not bad.

    Easy stress free event.
