That's very generous of you. (I already have one, so next ....) I've got quite a bit of catching up if I want to make the Top 10 this round. Been too busy to fling planes ... maybe I'll chip away at it a bit more tonight.
Absolutely correct!! Nobody! Wouldn't mind one myself either So yes, it was a joke. Like I said, to liven things up a little. But now I feel guilty for raising false expectations so I'll send Mac a little something anyway. Cheers & have fun, all! M.
Been lurking for awhile in this thread! Read through the strategies listed in Faye's sig and all that. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how I could improve my operations further. I've got 25 planes. All Sequoia-Ms except for one Cyclone-M. I've been using the route described by Pezmage from way back when: Two layover cities--Kinshasa and Mumbai--connecting South America (Lima, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janeiro, and Sao Paolo) to East Asia (Beijing, Shenyang, Seoul, and Tokyo). Treating each M as "its own beast" as Pezmage said. I also recently started bux sitting, with eight sitters in the farthest cities (none in Kinshasa or Mumbai). These planes just pick up bux jobs and deposit them among the endpoint cities as layovers whenever they get full. The bux jobs then get picked up by the other, non-bux sitting planes. In addition to overall suggestions, I have a few specific questions as well: When bux sitting, should I pick up all bux jobs, including the 1 bux jobs? I've been doing this so far, but it feels like it's inefficient somehow. Should I just be focusing on the bux jobs going to the opposite side of the route? I understand why the mechanics of the job list means a cap of 10-12 cities is best. But, how should I decide between keeping my 10 cities now versus having 8? (Closing Lima and Shenyang maybe). The reason I ask this is because I have my Lima and Sao Paolo bux sitters paired to drop bux jobs in each other's cities when the planes are full, but the flight is 15 minutes which is almost 4 job refreshes wasted. If I close Lima, I wont have to deal with this. My planes average around 7,000 coins per hour. All of them. Is this about right? How long should I expect it to take to get up to around 50,000 bux so I can cash it in? (Assuming my current bux sitting procedure is correct). My priority right now is really opening up more plane slots.
just a question hello. before i say anything i must say the only class 3 planes ive really been using have been those special class 3 planes. now that im starting to adjust my flight plans, im looking into the regular class 3 planes. im just wondering which ones I should look at more. Ive noticed quite a bit of people trading sequoias a lot on the trading post so was going to give them a try, but are there any others that are preferred more than the rest?
Sequoias are the most popular Class 3 planes around here. They're cheap to fly, have a decent range and are balanced between cargo and pax. In fact, the group is a bit divided between Seqs and Cyclones. Cyclones beat Seqs in every respect (more capacity, better range and a lot faster) except one: they're more expensive to fly. Between Seqs and Cycs it's a matter of two questions: what type of player are you, and how high have you levelled? If you prefer to send off a few planes and then have a little time off, Seqs are better for you. If you want to push for high turnover, Cycs are the way to go. And if you're in the higher levels, say 40+, coins and bux are flowing so easily that costs are not important any more. In that case, The balance goes even more in favour of Cyclones. Cloudliners beat Cyclones hands down in speed, range and capacity, but are even more expensive to fly. So if costs are no object, they become the preferred option for some, but only those who don't mind the large imbalance between cargo and pax. Those who do, stick with Cyclones. All of this assumes you're going for M planes, which most people do. There's an upward scale of difficulty here. If you use Seq Ms, you have 5 pax and 5 cargo to fill when sending off a plane. With Cyclone Ms it's 6 and 6, and Cloud Ms mean 10 pax and 7 cargo. Next step up is using Seq P/C combos, so you have to fill 10 of each; Cyc P/C and you have to find 12&12; and if you're feeling really lucky, use Clouds for 17&17. That's a lot of bays to fill Hope this helps. Cheers, M.
Finally bit the bullet last night and closed all my airports save 8. Lost some airports I've had open for sentimental reasons since I started playing, so preserved their stats in screenshots. Upside of course is that revenues have shot up, as has my job count for this event. Huzzah!
Oh thats not confusing in the slightest, the game has just decided to have a Concorde Ceremony event in LA too, have just nearly loaded the wrong stuff while not paying full attention, just saw the barrels of champagne and started loading before realising they weren't outlined in blue.
I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who noticed that. Shame I didn't notice it *before* I sent that plane full of LA jobs from New York across the Atlantic.
I don't think I'll make my way too high up the leaderboard this time. Still recovering from the all passenger event last time and the fact i was using mostly level 1 planes bar the gifts i got to help. With the event so close to closing, I've got 2 slots empty just waiting to make sure i am best set up for the next event instead
lol that's a 0.0081% spread I'll try to send some planes before the night, but we should rely on our west coast friends. That's YOU Faye
