(faints) I've got some catching up to do... I think it might be time to ditch the M planes and switch over to P & C planes. I swear there's way more champagne going to London than anything else.
Vic - thank you for sharing your strategy. I kept having bottlenecks and wondered how you were doing it with so many planes. I have 33 plane slots. At 42K bux right now...if I remember correctly, the sweet spot is cashing in at 50K...will have to look and make sure I can get the most slots open for my cash in. I'm also working on closing airports and converting Class 2 planes to Class 3. Currently running 3 Aeroeagles out of Madrid. Interesting that they seem to pick up lots of Bux jobs. Figure with this event in London, I can also clean up a lot of Bux layovers I have scattered around the globe.
If I did it again I would go past 50K Take a look at the bux calc to see how many planes you will get for the amount cashed in.
But be careful not to go too high. ***** SDO'S BUX EXCHANGE WARNING ***** MUST READ ***** http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpo...ostcount=10928 (original post) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpo...ostcount=11604 (followup post) This Bux Warning (and other interesting forum posts) is listed in one place, check out the 2nd link in my signature below ... future reference.

Most of my London jobs are showing up in the States and I only have one plane that can make the trip.
Gus i will be sending you all my plane parts i will be resseting my game u can use them for the foundation and i am sure u will help me when i need it, a btw i will be also sending my c130 part, a body i think this is what u where looking for ? Ok so i only sent u the c130 part starship part couple of roos and couple of mohawks and a pair of seqouias, swnding gifts is daunting, if u can send me back the roos and mohawks i would be grateful, but i will be more happy with a pair of mapples maybe My GC M.Kheidr
I'm gonna start doing my Concorde dance/prayer for luck now. I'm only one part short of completing it x.x I suck at dancing though... And I think it might be sacrilegious to pray for luck in a silly game... But I'm doing so all the same!
I'm starting a similar dance too but still expect to get a second engine not the controls that I need I'm predicting a huge swap shop when this event is over as those with two parts get a second one of a piece they have already not the one they need.
Revised MOFO rankings Hi All, Sorry for a small pause in rankings posts but it's been busy at the office (I know, TA1 is more important, but there you are ), plus I've discovered some quirks in the reporting spreadsheet that necessitated a revision. Turns out, if someone unknown gets into the top ten in some cases it's included as an 'unknown' line (these were included in my previous post), but sometimes (and this I only found out later) it's mentioned in a separate column, as a comment. These, obviously, had to be corrected by hand. So before I start on the sequels, here're the revised Top Tens for the three months and the quarter first. Fortunately, differences are very small and it has only occasional consequences for the rankings. Month 1, from Paris to Jerusalem: 1st Place and 1st Month Champion: Nokitano, with 117 points; 2nd: Faye Valentine, 72 points; 3rd: Vic Sark, 66; 4th: Number1Ump, 65; 5th: Jayorros, 63; 6th: CastlePage, 62; 7th: Snowbird, 56; 8th: Harmoniamundi, 50; 9th: 3500, 49; 10th: Noids, 46. Month 2, Chengdu to Lima: 1st place, by two runway lengths: Number1Ump, 123 points; 2nd: Vic "Darth Vader" Sark, 79 points; 3rd: SlightlySomewhatNorth, 67; 4th: reigning Champion Nokitano, 64; 5th: Copper Metallic, also 64*; 6th: Faye Valentine, 61; 7th: Gus "The Swarm" 172, 44; 8th: PocketDaddy45, 40; 9th: Ltbaxter, 33; 10th: Noids, 29. Note*: with equal number of points, highest score counts. Nokitano scored 1st in Lima and 2nd in Chicago, while Copper scored 1st place in Chicago but his next highest result was 3rd in Port Elizabeth. Month 3, New York to Padang: The results, Ladies and Gentlemen: 1st place, but not by far this time: Gus"The Swarm" 172, with 103 points. 2nd: Faye, 94 points; 3rd: Number1Ump, 75; 4th: Coastcat, 58; 5th: PocketDaddy45, 55; 6th: Vic Sark, 49; 7th: Copper Metallic, 38; 8th: MacSym42, 37; 9th: RoboBoto, 28 (including one 4th place); 10th: CastlePage, 28 (including two 5th places). These three months get us to the First Quarter Top Ten: 1st and the Undisputed Q1 Champion: Number1Ump, 263 points; 2nd: Faye Valentine, 227 points; 3rd: Nokitano, 199; 4th: Vic Sark, 194 (close but no podium!); 5th: Gus172, 173; 6th: Coastcat, 115; 7th: Copper Metallic, 102; 8th: Snowbird, 102; 9th: CastlePage, 99; 10th: PocketDaddy45, 95. The biggest difference with the initial report is that we now have 89 points in total scored by unknowns, rather than the 9 first reported. The presence of these unknowns causes a big difference in the number of known TA1ers who have scored points. This select group now numbers 57. Let's hope many more will follow! This concludes the first quarter of Merlion's Official Formula One Rankings (a.k.a. MOFO Rankings). We will now continue with progress reports on three classifications: The Monthly Trophy, a.k.a. the Silver Yoke. The first three months have seen three different winners: Nokitano, our first Champion, followed by Number1Ump and Gus. Will the Silver Yoke go to another new winner? Or will it be one of these three? The Quarterly Championship, a.k.a. the Sequoia Cup Number1Ump was the proud winner of the first Sequoia Cup. Will he keep the Cup? Or will he have to hand it over to the ever-strong Faye 'Runaway' Valentine, or Gus 'The Swarm' 172? Or will SuperPenguin get up to speed? The Concorde Super League Besides the previous two, we will keep track of the overall standings up to now. If we manage to keep this up for three more quarters, we will have the winner of the Concorde Super League, the leader of the High-Flying Ten who reached the top stats over a whole year. Have fun! Cheers, M.
MOFO Classification after Washington We're now one third of the way in Month 4 of the MOFO Rankings. It's a 9 race month and we have now New Orleans, Rome, and Washington under our belts. And I can report exciting results! We have a veritable neck-and-neck race on our hands, with strong contenders not far behind. Here's the current classification: In the lead: Gus172, with 50 points; 2nd Place: Faye Valentine, with 49; 3rd: Tater4579, 33; 4th: Lynsie13, 27; 5th: Snowbird, 24 including a 2nd place in Rome; 6th: Nalazoo, 24 incl. 4th place in New Orleans; 7th: Jmacjmac, 22; 8th: RoboBoto, 11; 9th: Number1Ump, the reigning Sequoia Cup-holder, 10 (5th place in DC); 10th: Copper Metallic, 10 (incl. 6th place in Rome). Gus 'The Swarm' has Faye Runaway breathing down his neck. But he's shown twice now that he can win, and his 54 Roos form a strong hand. But don't underestimate Faye the Flinger! She can wield a mean fleet. Ump, you're not living up to your Q1 fame. We expect more from you. One more interesting feat from the first one-and-a-half weeks: apart from the Top Ten there are only five more points scorers! We're seeing clearly delineated group of winners here. Keep tabs on these five - they are dark horses in the coming races. Their names are ktc24, thefantasyicon (who's already laid down the challenge), SuperPenguin (keep an eye on him!), YeltoThorpy, and Johnwinning. Vic, where art thou? And finally, a sneak preview on the London Effect. I've taken a sceenshot early this SG morning, when I hadn't scored my meagre results yet so could see the Top Ten. Nokitano had 1956 jobs done at the time... Were this the end result, the Month 4 Top Ten would see Gus strengthen his nr 1 position, with Faye still firmly on 2nd, but a bit further behind him. Tater stays in 3rd; after that, stuff changes. Snowbird passes Lynsie; Nokitano comes back and takes 6th; Nalazoo and Jmac take 7th/8th; Penguin storms the Top Ten to take 9th; and Robo in 10th. Where will this end? One thing is certain: it will end up in much higher job counts. What an amazing race! Cheers, M.
Oh Merlion, this is so good. I had a long day at work plus some family stress and logged in TA1 forum for a break. And saw your exciting MOFO post. *delighted chuckle* Please please continue the broadcast. This is far more exciting than the global event.
Thks a lot Merlion! Hard work here. Dig the stats We started recording top10s in the spreadsheet for the Paris 10k podium, but if I remember correctly, Faye, I and some others did post on the forum last minute standings for events before that. So if someome here is in need of some older stats (I know it can be an addiction lol), you gotta to dig deep in the forum before posts of 11/11/2012. So before this post (top10 of the Rio event) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2527460&postcount=8834 Detailed list of events here :http://pocketplaneswiki.com/Events We formed TouchArcade1 for the Zanzibar event. The original idea of TA1 belongs to matma92ser, with train2000 being "serious" about it and yours truly starting it http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2499652&postcount=8152 http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2499887&postcount=8155 http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2500011&postcount=8158 Sdo62 did the first spreadsheet, and we started recording leaderboards 4 or 5 events after the creation. Quite a run since guys! Cheers all for this great team
Thanks SO much Faye!! Put to good use for the TA1 crew! And it looks like we're going to beat Nimblewiki this time!
