Please put your pledge behind your name, in the Notes column of the Rome tab, TA1 spreadsheet. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ale0JqVq80xJdFprbi0xMmF2RG94TEdIYWlqOEtHRUE&pli=1#gid=62 It's the only way to keep track of what people are contributing. Cheers, M.
Am I feeling some apathy towards the current event? Just looked at the current stats (although they are 1 day old so not totally current) and seen the low score for 10th place. Wish I was actually in on this one but have been concentrating on other events as they have been near my route, and also the MORONS prizes going to girls kinda rules me out of that too. Good luck everyone, see you for the next one.
Hi-5 TRB4, so surprised and happy to see you here. To TA1 ppl, TRB4 is extremely knowledge and helpful about Pixel People. TRB4: check out the link in my signature ... there's an FAQ and guides/strategies for Pocket Plane as well as our own leaderboard of the global events. First priority is to grow your coins. You need coins to buy plane slots and buy/upgrade cities. Try to aim for 25% bonus (same city flights) and longer distance on sequoias. Please add me to GC and I will send you a couple of sequoias (perhaps you can retire couple of roos temporarily so that you have plane slots?) I'll suggest you open Tehran first, and when you've earned more coins, open Tokyo or Seoul. You can get 9bux LA jobs from Tokyo/Seoul. Not sure about Shanghai. When you have your long LA - Tokyo/Seoul established, you can consider upgrading airports, starting with the both ends LA and Tokyo/Seoul. (Instanbul - Seoul/Shanghai requires sequoia upgrade, which I suggest you hold off for now since bux are scarce right now. ) Other tips - 1. When you exchange bux for coins, the more bux you exchange at a time, the more coins you get per bux. So we do crazy 25k or 50k bux exchanges So hold off plane upgrades for now until you get more bux. 2. I assume that you want to keep your class 3 airports (LA, NY, Paris) kind of semi-permanent for now? You can consider upgrading them when you have more coins. Upgrading airports give you more layover slots and more jobs generated so easier to get 25% bonus. 3. Buy more plane slots when you can afford it. Add us to the GC. It is more fun when you can see names on the leaderboard rather just numbers. AH .... that explains where there was a bout of colds and chills. Hopefully the Mediterranean weather will thaw them out.
Attention Toucharcade Flight Crew.... Sneaky Nimblebit has been throwing some Rome medical supplies in the mix of cargo. The hospitals must need supplies for the repercussions from Valentin's Day gifts gone bad. With 1D, 18HR remaining in the Valentine's Celebration in Rome, the Toucharcade1 flight crew is falling behind 1. 125,423 2. 23,468 3. 16,964 <---- us!!!! Roses are red, Violets are blue, Planes are AWESOME, and we need YOU!
Am I missing something with the rustysnowman distance calculator. I select the two airports I want and then nothing happens. Have I got a button missing or or am I doing something wrong?
@Faye Valentine & @CastlePage Thank you both so much for the advice and the links to all the different strategies that others have posted, they were very helpful and fun to read. I am going to work on opening Tehran and then Tokyo. CastlePage I sent you a GC friend request my GC is TRBIV. I am currently a member of the TouchArcade flight crew, but after the Rome event ends I will join TouchArcade1. I would be more than grateful for some additional Sequoias (I prefer Ms, but Ps and Cs would be perfect too.) Thanks everyone for being so nice and helpful. Once I get my airline off the ground (pun intended) I hope that I can start contributing my own strategies for all of you to enjoy. Just check out my posts in the Pixel People topic to see how meticulous and obsessed i can get with these games lol.
The Airport Distance Calculator is a combination of the drop down selectors to pick the two airports, PLUS the set of boxes below that show the Planes. When you pick say Paris and Rome...you'll see some boxes. RED boxes - meaning they are a class higher than is capable of landing at that airport. GREEN boxes - these are planes that can make the trip! YELLOW (if there were any showing) - are planes that can make the trip only with some sort of upgrade. It could be that you just need to scroll down a bit to see the boxes OR you're picking airports that are too far apart and there are no planes that can make the trip, thus these show up as GREY.
Ok - editing the spreadsheet...I can get to the "spreadsheet view" easily enough. How do you get BACK to the main view without having to go back to my bookmarks?
Nope I picked Istanbul and Bangkok so there should be a number of planes that fly between them. No boxes drop down and it doesn't show any mileage either Doesn't matter, just tried it on Chrome and it works so will use it on there from now on
Ah...a case of unsupported browser :-( I use Chrome too - didn't even think about it not working because of the browser - glad you figured it out. I find it a VERY useful tool, especially when starting a new Global Event and figuring out what airports to open based on what planes you have.
