don't forget you can always boost an idle empty plane on another airport for 1 Bux to collect the mystery part! I gathered about 20 MPs for 1500 jobs, that's consistent with the 1% MP odds. I hadn't a lot of time to play for this one though. I don't go through the Bux sitters usually now, it's too boring. But for a full plane event I do try to have a quick look. I didn't remember how much Bux you did collect when looking for MPs, it's huge! I also tried a dual class 3 airport to stock and deliver New Orleans jobs. I had New York and Mexico collecting layovers at the same time and split my mapple fleet in half. It didn't work well. The round trip NY/NO was too long and layovers just kept being too high in NY and Mexico. So I only used Mexico after a while, and bux boosted a plane a few times when layovers were too high. It worked way better.
I tried that strategy before, doesn't work for me. The people+cargo(+mystery part) I see is usually some job-refreshes behind So if I see a mystery box at the airport it isn't in the job listing anymore, and vice versa, I sometimes see no box there but in the job listing there is one. I think that might have to do with PP running in the background on Android, it should work if I close the game completely and reopen it anytime, but that takes too long for a quick mystery-part looking imho. Another way is to cycle to all airports a few times, or go to the next airport and then back, the airport screen refreshes that way.
I'm playing on Android, and that was the problem I had, too. I had to scroll through the parts list, because the airport-view did not often reflect the accurate mystery part status. I've delivered 781 jobs and collected 24 mystery parts. Like some one else said, I don't need the Sequoias-Ms, I just couldn't help myself. I have 38 slots all full, and can't keep up when I get time to play, what would I do with more planes?
How do you get pocket planes to run in the background? For me it always closes completely and takes forever to reopen it. Please do share! : ) Ps thanks for the part yesterday. I had just gotten enough and that was why I sent 2 back.
Anyone remembers if you can deliver the mystery parts after the end of the event and still get the sequoia m part? I think I did that once but I'm not 100% positive.
I vaguely recall someone mentioning that you still get the mystery part when you deliver after the event is over. I have a Jerusalem mystery part layover in one of my cities, maybe I should deliver it and see what happens.
You might get it if the plane is in the air when the event ends (not sure),but if its a layover then it turns back into regular cargo. This I know from experience.
Lemme go buy a plane slot & Jerusalem to see what happens. 4 minutes later ... It delivered a Huey Engine. Is that what we were getting from the Jerusalem event?

Yes, Mystery Part cargo still yield parts after the events end. BTW I saw somewhere a while back that when you get an upside down plane that coins/bux appear at a higher rate. Tested this with a recent upside down aeroeagles and it was the exact same rate as normal.

Lol I missed the part where you said it was a Jerusalem mp! I usually try and delivery remaining bux jobs but if it's down to just a couple 1-3 jobs I give up and delete them too.

Guess I take a laid back approach ... If it gets there, cool. If not, oh well ... My poor passengers/cargo can be in transit for quite some time. Good thing they don't report me to the Better Business Bureau.
I think I have a new favorite picture! Thanks! I may have squeaked into the top 15.. Not sure.. boosted a boor roo-C to clear 32 layovers out of Mexico city. And we're going to rome for 45 bux and another class 1 event. That should be interesting with layovers going to Istanbul, paris, cairo...
