Thanks for the invite. I'll try it out here in a bit. A little worried about joining it considering my level, but we'll see.
Don't switch until after the current event and prizes received.. unless you're doing another 50 jobs, i guess.
Damn, got too busy at work and forgot to do the advertising at New Orleans early enough. Now too late to do it before going to bed as only up for another hour or so and that would be a waste. Bit gutted as there haven't been that many plane parts tonight Setting an alarm now so I can get more jobs tomorrow evening
Though I don't approve cheating. Activating airplane mode on your phone(ironic), and setting the date say a year forward, opening the app and purchasing any ad campaign, closing the app, returning your phone to automatic date settings and deactivating airplane mode, then reopening the app will create a year+8 hour long ad campaign. The downfall to this is a small fee to reopen one of your biggest & busiest airports. Nimblebit really needs to create a system to prevent date altering, say removing all your coins/bux if a date altercation occurs.
At what level can you open 13 airports? I have a Kangaroo Bux strategy I am working on for lower level players.
Hey I just registered because i have a question which i Am sure was answered previously anyway here goes which aircrafts are better the kangaroos or kohawks, and the birchcrafts or pearjets and i was thinking of only flying Mixed planes is this a good idea ? Thanks in advance
U start with 6 slots at lvl 1 and gain 2 per lvl so i think 13 airports would be at lvl 5 but i am not sure
Kangaroos are the best class 1 for cheap flights. Aeroeagles are the best class 2 for money making flights and Seqouia are the best class three along with cyclones. When I was in class 1 and 2 I used to use mainly Mohawks and Prarjets but later I found out that kangaroos and Aeroeagles are better and now those are my prominent class 1 and class 2 planes. If you haven't unlocked Aeroeagles yet then just hold off on class 2 unless you want to go with 1 or 2 Pearjets. I mainly use M planes because they are usually easier to fill.
Of Mapples, Roos, and Blimps Mapples have about 10% more range than Roos, Gus. AND as you say they're faster. The Roos' only advantage is that they're slightly cheaper to fly. Another Roo 'advantage' is that they're available in P and C flavours. I keep a few of those in my hangar to clean up imbalances after an event. (Incidentally, does anyone share my impression that there are many more root beer kegs than people in the NO event?) On balance, I recommend Mapples over Roos. [You'll either need access to a Mac, or trade with someone who has as they're only available on Macs.] But what's missing in this lineup are Blimps. They cost virtually nothing to fly. In fact they're so much cheaper that the cost difference between Roos and Mapples becomes insignificant by comparison. Their range sits in between Mapples and Roos. They're slow, but that becomes an advantage when you have so many slots that it would be impossible to manage if every plane landed after a hour or so. Do the math: if you have 50+ slots, with an average flight time of an hour that means one landing every minute. So you have to get these babies back on the road every single minute. Nobody except Gus can do that. (Except when you don't have a life - hello Penguin!) So you lose revenues as planes start spending time on the ground. With Blimps you don't have that problem. Blimps are also ideal if you're not a mega player but like to send stuff out in the mornings before going to work, check out some sorties during lunch hour, and do a bit more serious play including your Class 2/3s in the evening. You'll have planes working for you all day. So to sum up between three planes that are very comparable in many respects (all Class1, 2/2 cap, 1000km range give or take): 1. Mapples if you need speed and don't mind the slightly higher cost. Perfect for events and bux runs. You'll need access to either a Mac, or trade with someone who does. 2. Roos if you're frugal and don't mind the slower speed, or are a less frequent player. Or have many slots (Gus). 3. Blimps if you're either a 50+ slot tycoon or a once-in-a-few-hours player for whom speed doesn't matter. Or both (me). Cheers, Blimp Man
Haven't been able to do a lot of jobs. But hopefully my position 30 (so far) is helping TA1 stay ahead!
Gus- Level 4 has 13 airports available. I'm still level 10 because I started a new game, and I have 25 airports available now. Roos get available level 8 if I'm not wrong, after airvans and anans. Mohawks are the last of class 1st to get unlocked.
I see you were discussing Maples vs Roos earlier. I was wondering if anyone might know what the going rate for a Maple was in terms of trading.
It really depends on what's on offer and who you're trading with. I would suggest to post an offer on the trading forum and see what comes back. Here's the link (not sure if this works cuz doing this from iPad app): http://forums.toucharcade.com/showthread.php?t=139281 Cheers, M. Edit: I actually wouldn't mind sending you one except you're not on my list plus I've been pruning quite a bit lately and I'm still over a hundred. Not sure what level you are but you can send me a friend request (GC Merlionine) and maybe your level is high enough to show up. Alternatively, anyone who has Danoman on his/her/its list, please give me a shout and I'll send you a Mapple to forward to him.
Merlion I definitely noticed the imbalance between root beer kegs and passengers. I chose to load up on mapples in the middle of the event because I was late to the party and because the mapples are new to android, and m only planes, which is what I prefer. Ill probably incorporate your blimp strategy if (and when) I ever get to 55 slots! The way it goes for me now is that I STILL have 19 slots because even with dedicated bux sitters, I don't have the discipline to not spend the bux. So, now I have decided to play the events to stave off the boredom. ALSO ... am I correct in my observation that more bux jobs appear everywhere when you have an event city open?
