Boredom and Admiration Well, having reached level 30 and no new planes mixed with Bux event after Bux event, I now have a much deeper appreciation for people like Vicsark who can reach level 50 and higher. The ability to stay motivated and develop strategies on how to do it better is admirable. Don't get me wrong, I think a full aircraft event with mystery parts would still be exciting but holy mackeral, hit me with a brick in the head to make the pain go away, these bux events are a literal grind. I wish Nimblebit would add some content to keep the fun going pasty level 28 and obviously more full plane with mystery part events would spice things up. Just adding some new collector planes would also help. Who knows, maybe they actually read these forums? I think they might even secretly talk with the senior players like Vicsark and ask advice.
The MORONS protest This is going from bad to worse. No wonder half the forum is staying away from posting and TA1 dropping down to third. Everyone's probably off playing Blockheads or Tiny People or something of that ilk. Something needs to be done. So I've decided to make a stand. If NimbleBit can't bring themselves to do global events properly, then we can. As far as TA1's concerned, this is going to be a whole plane event. I was going to call this Merlion's Giveaway in keeping with Vic's naming standards, but after some thought (this is also a protest, after all) I've settled on Merlion's Obvious and Reasonable Opposition to NimbleBit's Stupidity (MORONS). So here goes: The TA1 winner of the Punta Arenas event will receive one full Concorde. The rest of the top 10 will receive a Concorde mystery part. The event will end on Thursday 4AM Singapore time, and I will take the Thursday morning version, about 6 hours later, as the final standings. Note: this will apply only to those TA1 members who a) appear on the Punta Arenas spreadsheet and b) are visible on the friends list in my PP app. (I understand this is ranked by level?) Feel free to connect. NimbleBit, I hope you will hear this message. If you do, I have a suggestion for the next event: Chinese New Year in Singapore, for a full C-130 Hercules. A cargo plane is needed as there's no limit to the amount of dried fruits, nuts, and crisp and uncreased $2 bills you can fly in during this time. But mix in some people too, as we see many Mainland Chinese tourists here, and anyway it would also be nice to see some Chinese names start appearing in the passenger lists. Gong Xi Fa Cai all! LOVE the event name. CNY themed event would be great. I haven't see a $2 bill in decades (US dollars), but am already arened with a stack of other crisp bills and red envelopes. CNY stuff already in Ranch 99, shopping is only going to get more crowded. Not likely to happen but... It would be cool to have a limited edition CNY themed plane. Maybe with a snake design on the tail ... Although a dragon would look cooler.
Man, this event is tailor made for a tater win but I have a Superbowl Party today and have to work 16 hours tomorrow so I expect to be 1000 jobs out of first place by Tuesday
Same here. Love the leisurely pace of class 1, but haven't had a chance to jump on it. Busy in real life, and also with a limited time event in Mafia Wars. Even my Blockhead has been neglected (do they die of starvation and neglect?). Well we'll see, I never make a sprint to the top right when an event begins. Slow and steady climb is my method.

Great idea And where the heck did you find that many Concorde parts I had also an idea a few months ago too, that we could have a TA1 championship, à la Formula 1. Each global event would award championship points for the top 10 or more. We would have standings adding each event points. And a tally at the end of 10 or so global events. But it would be a lot of work, and there is the problem of getting accurate last minute standings. For example, points awarded in Formula 1 follow this table: The top ten finishers in each Grand Prix score points towards both the drivers and the constructors world championships, according to the following scale: 1st : 25 points 2nd : 18 points 3rd : 15 points 4th : 12 points 5th : 10 points 6th : 8 points 7th : 6 points 8th : 4 points 9th : 2 points 10th : 1 point
Hey there, I'm new to this thread and have been playing this game for a few days now and am hooked! Already level 15 but am starting to run into problems in how im going to continue in the game. I started in the northeast us and have expanded from las Angeles to Boston and Chicago to Mexico City (not every city but the main ones). Currently i have 10 plane slots filled with all unupgraded: 1 pearjet-m 3 equinox-m 2 birchcraft-m 1 birchcraft-c 1 Mohawk-m 1 Mohawk-c 1 airvan-m Im got over 100 bux and am about to buy another pearjet-m Just asking for some advice with expanding since im working on going transatlantic and using the hub and spoke system (you can find it on the pocket planes wiki). I dont know if a pearjet can go from New York to Paris or London though if i upgrade it. Should I wait for an aero or fogbuster or go ahead and upgrade the pearjet? And also what's a good spoke for that area? How fast should i expand? Thanks to anyone who can help me, i saw some posts of people trading in 75k bux and am in awe wanting to get to that point myself.
First question: Pearjets can't make it from NYC to Paris. They can make it to London, but they need full range upgrade. Second one: I'd personally wait until you hit L16 and start getting Aeroeagles. Like a lot here, I only tend to use those and Sequoias. I can't answer the question about European spoke cities though - I don't use them.
Go Ravens! Okay, who the heck is #1 in TA1 with 963 jobs? Wow. That's 3x the number of jobs that #2 has (I'm#3 right now with 288). Should be plenty of time to play during beer commercials...
Ok thanks. Aeroeagles dont have much more range then pearjets though, i might have to upgrade that too. And a couple more questions if you don't mind : 1. Should I save up bucks for the aeros and sequoias or buy another pearjet or 2 while i work my way up (the way i have been)? 2. Is there an advantage to Ms vs. A mix of Ps and Cs? I've found it's harder to load Ps and Cs to get the 25% bonus but maybe later in the game its faster to load and unload having everything on the page loadable onto the plane? 3. Does closing airports increase Jobs to other airports or does it just eliminate the jobs from that city? Im thinking of closing Dallas and possibly even Mexico City and Chicago etc. after going transatlantic, but i don't know if it would help much more than the risk of las Angeles closing and not having a back up. Well i got the 100 jobs to Punta Arenas achievement now. Woo hoo! Running a swarm of 40 Roos sounds like a lot of fun. I just have 9 right now and I really like them.
S$2 bills are unbeatable for CNY hong baos here, even to the extent that there's actually a shortage and the Government's had large numbers of them ironed before recirculating them. And even then you see letters in the newspaper from people who say it's not the same and they rather queue up for brand new ones... I think the F1 system is brilliant. But as you say, one needs one or more people who are prepared to maintain it over a period of time. So might be a bit of a stretch for a casual forum like this one. But if we do, I'll gladly contribute to the prize pool! Great idea Vic ! I've been staying out of PP AND blockheads. (My char is still in the mountain in the dark, because I haven't touched Blockheads since). Only lurking on TA1 forum. Yours and Merlion's MORONS got me out of lurking mode and into PP. If the F1 race is on, when do we start counting ? (I hope not the last few events coz I've stayed out of I lost count how many ) Save your bux. Personally I haven't used my pearjets since I retired them. Upgrade areoeagles if you like ... they're the ones that I use for class 2 events.
