Could have been a programming hiccup... a feature (LOL) or bug. This wiki gives a good explanation. http://pocketplaneswiki.com/Mystery_Part#Mystery_Parts
Ok guys my offer is now closed. The TouchArcade1 crew members above can send me a pm at the end of the event with the Hot Air Balloon parts they need to complete their plane. @bgrim2day : Hey, offer was for hot air balloon, not blimps, pm if you still want HAB parts. And Roboroboto extended my offer for 5 HABs so be sure to reply to her if you didn't take upon my offer
Hi all. One of my objective on this game is to fill the Airpedia. I have at this time a lot a normal planes, and I want to have all the rare planes. So this the list what I need : - Starship Control - Bobcat Engine - P40 Warhawk Control & Engine - CONCORDE CONTROL (x2) PM me if you are interested. I have a lot parts & planes to trade. Thanks
I'm hoping to get a response from some of you big dogs: Currently, my setup is having la, NY, lon, Kinshasa, Buenos Aires, Tehren, delhi, Tokyo, and jikarta. I put a sequoia m in each city and a sequoia m FOR each city in London. After 2 refreshes each planeis filled with bux and coins for their respective city, and each of the seq m in each city head for London. It is similar to flysher's city swap meet...only I don't wait for then all to meet up and I don't have to wait WeFOREVERRRR for bux planesto fill. The 3rd advantage to this is that this is a bux strategy that does not include losing tons of coin. I also use 3 planes that go from la to Tokyo, Tokyo to la, and Buenos aires to Tokyo only. So, how can I improve on this as the fleet grows bigger keeping the same core idea I am currently using? Any flaws you see?
It looks so good. If your bux collection works, keep this setup. I think you can add more planes per city (2 is good) so when the first planes is flying you can fill the second (see the CastlePage's bux strategie in the TA1 spreadsheet).
I actually like this idea, adds a bit more profit, how's the bux income on it though? I average about 500 bux per meet on my current strategy Good idea, I might give it a try!
My guess is that the next event will be a Superbowl Party in New Orleans. They already have the bit art for the football finals. I say the prize is a full blimp. Agree? Disagree?
I like the sound of that! I'm not big into American football, it's a tiny sport over here in the U.K, but I know it's the Super Bowl and I'm all up for a blimp haha!
LOL that would be funny. I see... Cheerleaders, Football Players, Referees and Fans. Footballs & Whistles.
I would like to have some HAB parts after the event is over. Do you want anything in return? (I feel bad)
For those who don't look at the news in TA, a sneak peek at their new game coming in the next months http://toucharcade.com/2013/01/28/exclusive-first-look-at-nimblebits-upcoming-nimble-quest/ Curious to see a RPG à la NimbleBit. Pocket planes is surprisingly deep and strategic, with a well done social competition and trade aspect. Tiny Tower, while it oozed cuteness, is a very casual game. PP's learning curve might have rebuked a lot of TT players. So it will be interesting to see where they put the cursor on this one. Now back to sending balloon parts to Livingstone for TouchArcade1 crew
Don't need anything in return. PM me after the event which parts you need. Are you on the TA1 crew? Couldn't find you on the spreadsheet.
Finally got into the game recently and I'm quite addicted...I'm level 10 with 10 planes (a few kangaroos but other than that mostly 1 or 2 seaters) and 25 airports. I've been reading a few of the things in this thread, but I was wondering if you guys had some extra tidbits that could help me out. The main thing I'm reading is that it's probably better to have less airports....and all of mine are basically in North America so I'm thinking maybe I should cut my number in half and maybe set up on another continent. Again, any tips for a newbie would be super helpful! My GameCenter ID is maverickx12...if anyone has anything they don't want feel free to dump it on me
Yes you're better off having less airports and having them upgraded. Fly in straight lines, pick up every bux passenger you see, upgrade your weight on your planes to improve profits, but don't do that on plane you soon plan to replace. Happy flying.
25 airports is too many. I only have class 3 airports. Most of Super Penguin's advice is good (e.g. fly in a straight line, grab bux jobs). As for upgrading of planes and airports ..... hold first. One impt question - how much coins do you have? and how do you afford 25 airports AND 10 plane slots at lvl 10 ???
+1 to setting up straight-line routes. Jobs pay according to the direct mileage between origin and destination; any deviation from a straight route means higher fuel costs and longer flight times. Since you're in North America, try expanding down to South America. One option is to pare down your cities to set up straight, profitable routes. Kangaroos are your friend and worth the investment to upgrade them for range. With the max range upgrade, you can send Kangas from Los Angeles to Mexico City to Lima to Buenos Aires. If you send each flight out with the 25% bonus, you'll earn 2941 coins profit per flight (3844 income minus 903 operating cost).
