Thank You Boomerkidd Thank you for the Sea Knight Naming it Boom1. Colors? What's your favorite color scheme? Thanks again!
you have to open up airports along the way for the balloon to go from nome to wellington. no prob! and any colour is fine i'm not extremely particular about colour coding in pocket planes, as long as my bux sitters are green
There have been many posts on strategy in this forum, and I thought I'd add to that by providing some hard data. Basically, I counted the total number of bux jobs and total number of all jobs in my fully upgraded Class 3 airports in three phases, each phase with a different number of airports open. Layovers and onboard jobs were not counted. All my planes (22) were grounded during the entire stats gathering period, and no jobs were loaded or unloaded. Two of my cities (NY and Rio) each had 4 layovers, and another two (London and Paris) had 2 layovers each. All other cities had no layovers, so I don't consider these a factor in the final stats. Phase 1: 14 Class 3 Cities open only. I counted the jobs at each airport, and then repeated this 4 more times to come up with 5 job numbers for each airport. eg. LA had a total of 327 jobs over the 5 "refresh" periods, with 5 of these being bux jobs. In all there were 4357 jobs over the 5 refreshes of the 14 cities, 85 of which were bux jobs. This averaged out at 62.24 jobs per city per refresh, with an average of 1.21 bux jobs (1.95%). Phase 2: 14 Class 3 Cities plus 10 Class 1 cities open (24 total). I opened 10 random Class 1 cities around the world to see what difference it made to the job counts at the Class 3 cities. None of the Class 1 cities were upgraded. Once again, I only counted stats for the 14 Class 3 cities. There was a marked increase in jobs per city per refresh. After 5 counts of each city, the total jobs came to 5409, including 108 bux jobs. This averaged to 77.27 jobs per city per refresh, with an average of 1.54 bux jobs (2.00%). Phase 3: 14 Class 3 Cities plus 30 Class 1 cities open (44 total). I opened 20 more (non-upgraded) Class 1 cities for the final phase of stats gathering. By this time I was pretty much over counting jobs, especially as the numbers grew, so I only gathered 2 lots of stats instead of 5. The average jobs per city per refresh this time was 93.39, with an average of 1.61 bux jobs (1.72%). So, what can we learn from this? Firstly, gathering stats is boring. Secondly, losing your count midway through a 100 job list is very irritating. Seriously, though, I did find that the job numbers at each airport do increase with more cities open. Additionally, as the percentage of bux jobs remains roughly the same (around 2%), there is an increase in bux jobs. So, if you are going for a bux strategy, having more airports can be beneficial if you don't mind scrolling through extra jobs instead of waiting for a refresh. If, however, you are looking for that 25% bonus for your planes, the stats confirm that you're better off with fewer airports. Taking the average jobs per city and dividing by the number of other cities open (ie. total number of cities minus 1), the job numbers in each phase were 4.79, 3.36, and 2.17 respectively. That is, if you're loading jobs for a single destination city on to a plane, you'll average around 4.79 jobs per refresh with 14 fully upgraded Class 3 cities open (this will vary of course depending upon population). So there you go. Helpful or useless? You decide.
I refrain from quoting the previous post due to the sheer length of it- causes double the scrolling required (I'm on my phone) so yea. THANK YOU RELHARN. and I mean this sincerely. and if you were ever doubting it, it is very, very, very helpful and woah that's a lot of time you must have spent on it. the detail of the stats is amazing. This is why I am still playing PP- because of this community of awesome people who don't ever fail to amaze me- whether it comes to giving freebies to the lower level players or sharing all your secret recipes to success. Thank you, TA (and especially TA1), without whom I don't even know how I'd be holding a twelfth place spot in the Anchorage event (but I'm pretty sure you guys are going to surpass me very soon, with my measly 14 plane slots and a tragic lack of cargo planes) thank you, everyone, and to you, relharn TA1 is awesome.
thks a lot for that empiric test Relharn! That should have been a boring data gathering at the end lol The key number I see is the Bux job appearance average, roughly at 2%, that seems to be a constant no matter what. I'm not surprised you'd get slightly more jobs in total with more airports, but a lower job per airport average. The dev said the game calculates a full job pool at each refresh, and then apply a filter to show only a part of it, depending of what your open airports are. That being said, 93 jobs if you add up 30/40 layovers, it becomes very tedious to scroll down the jobs list imho. Especially if you focus on events. I guess ultimately the number of airports you choose to have depends on your fleet and your playstyle. But it's good to have stats to make an educated decision
I teach family photo legacies, scrap booking & stamping. I set my own hours. Think part-time hours with full-time pay.
Totally agree!! I cashed in some BUX earlier to get plane slots, my theory... The more planes you have flying, the faster you accrue BUX. I did some smaller exchanges, 5k or so a few times... Only exchanging what I needed to get another plane slot. My goal was saving up 25k for a BIG exchange. I used the spreadsheet to see where the biggest bang was...where I could do an exchange & open LOTS of slots AND have BUX for buying plane parts. After that you'll see BUX climb
Are Kringle Kruiser parts now showing up in the Market? I have 5 bodies, 3 engines and need controls. Currently at 180 jobs delivered with 5 KKs flying.
I can send you 2 KK controls inexchange of 2 KK bodies if you want. Yep, I'm flying 10 KK right now. We are only 107 jobs behind!
Helpful! Very! Thanks for taking the time to do this. But I have a question about your data... In phase 1, you had an average of 62.24 jobs for each of 13 other class 3 cities (average of 4.79 jobs per each other city). In phase 2, you had 77.27 jobs per class 3 refresh, but now had 13 other class 3 cities and 10 class 1 cities. That averaged to 3.36 jobs for each of the 23 other cities, but how were those jobs distributed between the class 3 and class 1 airports? What I'm thinking is that you had 10 incremental class 1 cities in the job pool for phase 2, and measured 15.03 extra jobs. Were there still about 62.24 jobs destined for the other 13 class 3 cities? In that case, you'd still have an average of 4.79 jobs for that class, and an average of 1.50 jobs for the class 1 cities, for a blended average of 3.36. But if you have different parts of your fleet serving the different city classes, you should still be able to fill your class 3 planes at the same rate, but you'd also have some incremental class 1 traffic to fill. Is that your recollection? Or were the class 1 and class 3 jobs refreshed at the same rate?
