Vic, you have 5 planes in each airport collecting bux? I only have 1 primary and at most 2 or 3 backups at each airport (ready to take over when the primary is full and flies to my central hubs at Paris/London. Each cycle I only look through the primary planes, which is a total of 9 airports. Class 3 airports are the red ones. Here's a link which I think will be useful to you: http://www.therustysnowman.com/proj/pocketplanes.php It tells you which planes can fly from city A to City B (you select A and B), and also the plane statistics. I enjoy your pics and captions so much. You should put them together and write stories about them BTW, what event is flying chicken??
I oddly didn't play a lot today for the 2500 jobs, spent time mostly playing with my daughter. But being in Europe, I have a head start for Sunday's events When I play, it's in 15/20 min short bursts where I send 4/5 of the planes in the air. I simplified and streamlined the process, it's even easier for class 3 events as I don't have to layover event jobs. - No non Bux layovers so it's faster to scroll down the jobs list. - 11 class 3 airports fully upgraded (Ny,La,Lima,SP, Rio, Paris, Lon, Ist, Cai,Sha,Seoul). - Ny advertised 24/7 - only class 3 planes (mostly Cyclone Ms and Sequoias M). Cyclones are speed upgraded. 4 closest airports from NY I got have paired red/yellow Cloudliners P/C named EVLA, EVLIM.. At each refresh, I take the list of the planes in the descending order: -if the plane isn't in NY, I load up the Bux jobs available until I scroll down to NY, load all Ny jobs, then to the next plane. repeat until plane is full and send it to NY. - if the plane is in NY, unload Bux layovers if any. Then load it for jobs to outgoing cities by descending order: ie first plane of the list in Ny loads up Seoul jobs, 2nd one Shangai and so on. It clears up the jobs list in NY so it's faster to load the sometimes 15/20 planes that landed there. Sometimes I even clear the pool job in NY! Send them when full with the 25% bonus. It's just a bit different for the 8 event planes (Clouds). Those are sent back from NY to their hometown immediatly with the jobs available, not waiting to fill them up. I can look and load up to 25/30 planes per cycle with this method. So It takes me about 3/4 refresh max (15/20 min) to send most of my birds in the sky and do about 300 jobs! it looks totally like work when told like that lol
Flysher that is brilliant! I am considering giving it a go...sounds a lot like what FedEx does, and it works for them. I especially like how everything has a "home" base and labeled so you know where it belongs, it allows just moderate play, and it also generates a positive coin count at the end of the day. You've given me a lot to think about.
I do something like yours I think (quick glance so not totally sure.) I opened London too, so that if a bux job generates in Paris, I can layover it in London (and vice versa).
No sorry, I must have not been clear. I got 1 Cyclone M as Bux sitter in each airport. I said that with 50 planes and 10 airports, it means an average of 5 planes per airport. So even with 2/3 of the planes in the air, the odds are high that there's a plane in almost every airport at any time. I just tried without the Bux sitters, flying them as regular planes. It doesn't seem to me I'm making less Bux. I hardly look at them in the last weeks when they sit for Bux anyway, I prefer to fly the other planes! Well done mate! I would have sent you a few planes but I can't see you in the friends list (only showing the highest first 100 by level) Maybe someone else will halp you with a few roos or aeros
Thanks I will admit that up until about level 28 I was brutally disorganized, sending planes wherever I could fill them too first, having zero organization and route structure, not naming or color coding planes, etc. The restructure took me about a day of deciding routes, airports, names, etc, but it was WELL worth it. It has increased my enjoyment in playing SO much. If you watch this video and go to 3:26, you'll see the city meet I was talking about at my old job A buddy of mine made that a few years back. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g2PtBLTHiSA
Cool Very nice! I'm currently working on bux more than events to increase the planes slots, to be able to experiment around more like this and to be able to wail on an event if I want I like this description, how organized it is, and that is should work well for mid-levels. Those are all major pluses. Personally, I would definitely open up London. This would double your layover capacity to 120, and would protect you against a storm in Paris shutting down your entire operation! Lon/Par are so close it's a trivial hop between them. Flying in from NA with jobs for Asia I would drop them all in Paris, then pop over to London to load up for home. The Asia planes drop their goodies in London, then fill up from Paris. So each hub city only has layovers for half the world. At higher levels when you really don't care much about cash, I would speed upgrade the Cyclones in order to max out their job-delivery rate for event purposes. Having the same planes collect and deliver the bux is in someways easier than one set of planes for collection and another for delivery. It's not unlike Pezmage's original Sequoia strategy in that regard, although you've moved the hub to the center of the map. (I don't think you can ignore London and scale as you get to a higher level... dunno) Let us know how this works for you or if you come up with any helpful tweaks on it.
I've decided to give Flysher's strategy a try and am renaming/repainting my planes as we speak. It seems like the perfect balance. I've got both Paris and London to double up on the layover like you're saying. We'll see how it works!
Interesting point with London, I like the idea of splitting the globe to east/west departures/arrivals. I think I'll add London to my lineup tonight! Thanks for the tips!
Thanks so much! Actually, you just gave me a great idea for making these more compact...I was hoping they weren't getting too annoying for ppl, but the Kinshsasa chick-con was going on today, and I couldn't resist sharing a few.
Thanks Vic. I am down toward the bottom of the list. I have been playing on Mobage and just started this GC account in Asia. With the reward being a Concorde part, I figured it was worth it to just open NY and DC and move two planes over. I am going to shut it down and move back now that I hit 50 and see how many jobs I can get on my Droid account, which already has NY as one of my permanent airports.
Flysher, your strategy rocks. Garnered almost 600 bux in just a few hours using your advice. If I/we had more slots, and more planes, you could have secondary bux planes at each location so that when you were sending all your primary bux planes into and from Paris, the secondary ones can stay behind, grabbing all those bux jobs that would otherwise be missed.
I just discovered this game lurking through my App Store about a week and a half ago, as of now I'm just level 18 trying to get organized into some strategy, I'm liking this Paris "city meet" strategy I saw from someone, I am wonderfully amazed by this forum and all of its promising members, hopefully when I become organized and feel as if I can pull my weight I'll jump into the TA1 crew instead of this global TA network, I love that these people are so dedicated! Your all awesome! But in other words, yes, I was asking for some sort of gift or anything anyone could spare to help me level up just a tad bit faster! Thanks Alyssa! GC: KingJosephKimbro
Thanks for the blimp part, Merlion! I think i finished in the top 15 though I'm giving away the following: 3 sequoia m engines 8 sequoia m controls Reply to this post and state your desired quantity! Hey boomer! Thanks for the offer - I'll request controls for the Sequoia M! Do you have a list of anything you need? I'm level 26 so I don't have much, but you never know.
