Nice! I'm getting my share of 10 Bux jobs and storing them at Seoul too. Dedicated a Aeroeagle-M to delivering Honolulu jobs too!
Observations this week I have a basic tip for newer/mid-level players, and a few observations from playing this week... * Got your big plane all filled up ready to fly across the world for 25% bonus but can't leave that one big bux job behind?! This was a common annoyance for me when running long-distance cash jobs around level 20. The solution is easy: go ahead and pick up that bux job, and fly to one city short of where you are going. Drop it off there for later delivery, and pick up the one remaining job needed for your destination. (Ex: Flying a Sequoia from LA->TK with 9 TK jobs, and you can pick up a tenth TK job or a 8-bux Jakarta job. Grab the job, fly to Seoul, dump the JK bux, pick up your last TK job and get the 25% bonus.) Sometimes it's easier to jump one city forward on the front end (like LA->Chi), but I like the one-short approach when I'm about to shut the app down and go to bed. This lets the plane travel an hour and a half while I sleep instead of 4 mins. * # bux jobs per refresh really varies Several recent posts noted that in some refresh cycles you see no bux jobs, or more commonly one or two. Yesterday I had one cycle with six 6-Bux jobs to Buenos Aires (!) and about 4 other jobs all at once. I'm glad I had a Cyclone-M parked there! * How many bux are needed to buy your next plane slot(s)? There is a huge difference depending on your next slot is #10 or #30. But oddly enough, every other slot past the first one is not all that different, about 1000 bux per slot in the low 20s and 2000 per slot in the 30s!? I noticed this when crunching the numbers at 29 slots. It will cost me 15K bux to get to 35 slots, 25K to get to 40, 35K to get to 45 slots and 45K to 50 slots. Example at lower lvls: You have 20 slots. How many bux to get you to 21? 22? 23? 24? That first extra slot will cost you 1612 bux. But if you wait to cash in, 2622 will get you to 22 slots, 3538 to 23 slots, 4434 to 24 slots, 5341 bux to get 25 slots. Compare that to cashing in individually for each slot: 1612/1853/2109/2380/2665 for a total of 10620 bux. --> If you're using bux collecting to buy plane slots, save up and buy a bunch at one time, not every time you want one more slot. That may be obvious to experienced players, but how much you save is really staggering. With 35 slots aiming for 50 if you save up and do one cash in it will cost you 42,683 bux. Buying them individually with 15 cash-ins will run you over 156K bux. How much does the next slot cost? You can consult a spreadsheet or table, but here's a ballpark number that's valid in the mid-levels, around 18-32 slots: Cost of next plane slot [bux] =~ 4 * slot_number_squared (example: for slot 25, cost of $4.8M coins, equates to 2665 bux, and the formula here says 4*25*25 = 2500 bux. It's not perfect but within 40% over the range slot 16-45)
Thanks! Saving up Bux and doing exchanges for multiple slots is some very valuable info for a relatively new player like myself. This forum and all of you veterans are great!
This flu is kicking my butt, have spent most of my time sleeping. Got a late start in Lima, started yesterday, am surprised to have made the Top 25. Here's the Leaderboard for 11-20 at 5 hours, if anybody wants to enter this into the spreadsheet. 11. 1557 robo 12. 1343 andrwsc 13. 1239 boomer 14. 1191 pondus 15. 1029 faye 16. 994 tater 17. 955 green paper 18. 917 papichullo 19. 745 glippy 20. 742 tfrichards 1. 323372 2. 61167 3. 53296 TA1 4. 37804 5. 28257 6. 9562 7. 8562 8. 7466 9. 7182 10. 6512 Off to bed now.. Have sent some planes to Lima but don't think I'll wake up before midnight to get these deliveries to synch up.
Anxious to see what the next event will be for. This is 3 straight bux event so this next one should be for something. I don't recall 4 bux events in a row ever.
Previously 3 bux only events in a row were always followed by a full plane event. Anyone want to guess? We're all hoping for a Concorde or C-130 but getting to know NimbleBit, they're seriously capable of making us compete for a Bearclaw...
I would be ever so greatful if someone could send me a Cloudliner! These Kangaroos and Aeroeagles just aren't cutting it! GC: KingJosephKimbro
If they're going to make us compete for a bearclaw, it would be nice if it was a limited edition glow-in-the-dark bearclaw
On updating the spreadsheet for the current global event: Please do not change anything in the TA nickname/Game Center ID column! Only change the Rank/Job Count/Time Remaining/Updated By columns. I was adding info from the top 10 when I noticed a bunch of the names in the GC ID column had been overwritten; there are now duplicates while others' names are missing from the list. For the Lima event only, I have added in two names that were likely overwritten (as they are no longer on the list) Macsym42 and Roboroboto The spreadsheet for the next event is prepped and ready to go. No names should be missing as I copied off the master list just a short while ago.
This was probably (and inadvertantly) me, as I was in editing as well. I didn't delete or change the info in the TA or GC fields, but I did notice that after I had updated the rank, jobs and time, some of the rows had created duplicates rather than just updating the rank, jobs and time. I deleted the duplicate rows with the older info. I didn't notice that some rows were missing. My apologies, I'm not sure how it happened, will watch out for it in the future.
No problem, strangeness happens sometimes Still a good note to put out there, since there are so many new people popping in and haven't seen which columns are regularly updated.
My thoughts about this scammer? If s/he's too lazy to even go downstairs to get their iPad, then of course blacklist him/her, but don't give them the attention (angry posts, rants, etc.) because obviously it just makes them "LOL" even more when people are posting about them, and they're probably just doing it for fun. It is just a game, after all.
Concorde Ceremony in New York! Winner: Concorde Part + 10 bux Top 10: Concorde Part + 5 bux Top 100: Concorde Part + 3 bux Under 100: Concorde Part Delivery 50 jobs to qualify for prizes
Easy enough with the Class 3 fleet already set up for Lima It seems strange to think that at one point we'll be all drowning under Concorde parts lol
