Not that I mind the easy 100 bux, but it seems like there's no point in making your own flight crew (versus joining the toucharcade one). It'd be more interesting if, say, ranking #1 in the #30 flight crew got you better rewards than being #100 in the #1 flight crew. So you'd get rewards both based on your flight crew's rank and your own rank within the crew.

Can someone explain layovers? I'm really enjoying this game but haven't figured the layovers out yet. Sorry if this was asked earlier, this thread grows way quicker than I can keep up with.
It's a way to help you get the bonus. Layover is when you drop a passenger or cargo off at a location other than their destination (just "unload" them.) They'll be marked with a little red "layover" marker. Each airport has a limited number of layover spots. The advantage is you can build up passengers/cargo with the same destination so that you can fill a plane for one location and get the 25% bonus. Hope that helps.
Oh - another layover tip. Sometimes you'll load up a passenger to fill the plane for a layover. Be smart about which destination you move to which location. Try to move people CLOSER to their final destination as it appears their payout doesn't change. So someone going to NY from LA has a big payout. If you lay them over in San Fran...they'll keep the big payout for the shorter leg. It just sucks when you're in San Fran and your layover's payout is less than the regular passengers in that airport because you never want to prioritize their flight.
[Nods head vigorously in agreement.] And no more riding lifts (elevators) up and down towers all day!
If you don't have a decent amount of airports (class 2+) in Asia, you're out of luck. Otherwise, send all the Brisbane jobs from Asia to Jakarta and have Kangaroos fly them out to Brisbane. I do this with five Kangaroos and only two Australian airports (Broome and Brisbane). The Kangaroos make me 1800 - 4500 coins each trip and I'm currently #53 in the crew.
New York Los Angeles Dallas San Francisco Phoenix Seattle St. Louis Salt Lake City Upgrading my fleet to Class 2 Birchcrafts. I can probably get Chicago and Atlanta tomorrow. After that I think I'm pretty good in the US. Might buy some more smaller cities and plan on doubling my airline (only have 6 planes right now). 3/4 to level 11 and now I'm just wondering what to do. Where should I go next? Mexico -> South America? Don't think anyone of my planes are able to go trans Atlantic yet.
SFO or LA out west.. maybe Seattle or New York out east. Dallas is just far enough out to ensure any Mohawks are within drop distance to New York. You get 14 layover slots with Dallas meaning great for packing full shipments off to New York.
I wish the game auto hid people who want to go to a low quality airports when you are boarding a class 2 or 3 jet.
Didn't get hooked on Tiny Towers but definitely hooked on this one. I have a Supergopher-P with a Leprechaun in it and it constantly flips during its flight! Scares the poor bitizen. I'm still in the class 1 planes but once I got a Mohawk and let it idle during flight it seemed the Bux spawns were much more common. Anyone at the higher classes notice this?
Layovers are designed ... damn ok ill give an example . Lets pretend you own paris, new york and goose bay. pretend also you have a passenger who wants to go from paris to goose bay. paris and new york are class 3, goose bay is class 1. now for smart flying you would naturally use a class 3 aircraft to fly straight from paris to new york but a class 3 aircraft can not land on a class 1 air port, runway is too small and whatnot. solution? when your class 3 aircraft hits new york you would drop the passenger off in new york and then have one of your class 1 aircraft pick him up and haul him up to goose bay.
