- Question #1: when you upgrade a plane, then scrap it and send it to another PP player, do the upgrades remain? - Question #2: following CastlePage's strategy to me, when you're in Tokyo and pick up a London bux job, and you drop that job off in Tehran...does it give you more profit when another plan picks up that London bux job (initially from Tokyo), and fly to London with now a 25% bonus? - Question #3: ^did that question make sense? lol
Haven't done much since the New Years Event.. 2 Cloudliner M, 2 Cloudliner C and 2 Cloudliner P going back and forth between LA and Tokyo... Any guesses what the next event will be for? This is 2 bux events since last prize event.. So I'm expecting something. I delivered over 1800 jobs to the New Years event in Paris and never saw a mystery part... Did anyone else?
Mystery Parts only appear if the prize is a full plane (like how Chicago's prize was a full Kringle Kruiser). Since Paris No3's prize was only part of a plane, they wouldn't have appeared, regardless of whether you did one job or a million.
We've had 3 Bux-reward events in a row before... Mystery parts only appear for global events where the reward is a full plane.
Oh.. Yeah that makes sense. I was getting kid of frustrated. Not nearly as frustrated and when I accidental sold my concorde engine though..
You both spent a phenomenal amount time & energy & thought in composing those lists. Their beautiful formatting added to the organization of the thoughts which were clearly written. A list of rare planes without their usefulness would tell but half of the story. You both did your part. To perfection. I only write when I think I have something of value to say & though I do play for TA1 I've signed no lists & will never be in the top 10, simply not a goal of mine. Doubt I spoke in terms of "cannibalizing," Vic. I just felt that if there were other less competitive, casual players like me we could all benefit from some more basic tips. The newbies would learn before their eyes totally glazed over by reading about loops & hubs & the like. The forum as a whole would benefit by having these newer players join in rather than throwing up their hands in utter dismay over the cryptic calculations of many advanced players which had no relationship to what they were doing in the early stages of the game. The more team members you can attract & keep, even if their contributions are minimal, represents a bonus for all of you, your TA1 Team, & for this "thread." p.s.: I prefer Level 2 planes. Can anyone suggest cities I should have, in the straightest line, if I'm mainly using distance-upgraded Aeroeagles & Pearjets? TIA.
1. I think if you scrap a plane, you lose the upgrades regardless if you rebuilt it or gift it to someone. 2. Sort of. If you mean do you get a total amount of coins higher than if you had completed a 25% run from Tokyo to London then no. If you mean does it appear to be more because it's from Tehran to London, then yes. 3. Did that response make sense? --tim
Lisianne, I currently also have some Pearjets and Aeroeagles and my most profitable, straight line route is LA-New York-Madrid-Tehran-Beijing-Tokyo(optional). Or a shorter straighter route is NYC-Madrid-Tehran-Beijing. Hope it helps!
Yes, your response makes sense. So, why does it appear to be more because it's from Tehran to London?
Boarded a real plane to far away lands shortly after the New Year event, so I'm officially on a much-needed holiday. Still keeping an eye out for non-bux-only events that may or may not crop up while I'm away.
Totally agree about the rare plane parts analysis + usefulness by Andrwsc and Vic. I write a lot of nonsense though, not just only when I have something useful to contribute Even weather reports This forum is so cosy that I feel comfortable chatting socially. I could write a short post about starting up PP fast (i.e. how to start raking in coins fast). When I first started PP, I experimented with starting all over the places. Should I share it? Faye, I flew cloudliner when I was doing the twin hub strategies. Seoul/Tokyo and NY/Chicago. I used areoeagles to build up All tokyo jobs (not just bux jobs) at NY/Chicago and Chicago jobs in Seoul/Tokyo. So when the cloudliner comes, it simply sucks in all the layovers at one shot (such a thrill to see 25% bonus) and takes off immediately. The downside of this strategy is that you need to build your layovers constantly. If you come back after a few hours, it does take forever to fill in the cloudliners. Well done ! We'll make a singaporean out of you yet. You just need to add "lah" to the end of your sentences to sound more Singlish
I started in Australia. After that, the rest of the globe was easy! I created a second GC ID and made northeastern North America my launching point. That was boring by comparison... Yeah, I tried an M for the LA-Tokyo run. It helped to run a Kangaroo P between Tokyo and Seoul so I could stock up on LA layovers needed to fill those 12 passenger seats. Eventually I gave up and put together P and C Cloudliners that I'll bring out for red city events. I'm pretty far behind in adding TA1 members - I'm missing 3 names in the top 10. Who are you at #1 and #3? I'm right between you at #2! (at least for the moment).
New friendly competition Harmoniamundi's post on re-starting PP many times gave me this idea about a new friendly competition -- Strategy for fastest way to rake up coins starting from scratch. Say target is to earn 300k coins. We can divide the strategies into 2 categories: a. starting PP with no outside help (i.e. no gifting of planes from anyone including yourself) b. starting PP with help (i.e. able to accept gifts) The criteria for judging will be on the speed of collecting 300k coins and practicality of strategy. Practicality is rather iffy. I suppose you can gift 10 cloudliners to be scrapped to achieve 300k coins, but this totally goes against my grain (what a waste of bux). And of course, we need some kind souls to volunteer to test out the strategies .....
I never tried starting in Australia. I will cry. #1 Number1ump #2 coastcat #3 copper metallic #4 sdo62 #5 SomewhatSlightlyUberDuberInfinitelyExtremelyExtraordinarilySeverelySuperblyNorth (wow, his name doesn't fit into the window) #6 tater4579
Not sure I understand...so why would profits SEEM to be greater? Wouldn't they actually BE greater? wait. so they (profits) APPEAR to be greater because the plane's flight cost is included, and flying from a closer city means less plane cost = more profits. so why would they actually BE less if traveling from Tokyo? But my own amittion [how the FRICK do you spell that word?!] profits SHOULD be less. But then, in general, one would make more many travelling all the way from Tokyo to LA....
Got some pix for ya 1. me in the ER getting IV fluids to boost my blood pressure 2. here's what the dreaded GHOST PASSENGER "looks" like. When I got it on my Sequoia-M, I removed it to the hangar, then put it back in service. After a single flight, the ghost passenger was back. So, I scrapped it. *sigh* 3. my current fleet of Sequoias. The ones that say "COINS" are Mixed planes. The ones that say "COIN" are P/C planes. (I obviously had a hard time thinking of 5-character names) Question: when I make these Tokyo ---> LA flights and LA <---Tokyo flights, should I advertise these cities?
