So glad I'm a part of the Toucharcade Flight crew! It was very nice to receive my Bux this morning, and a lot of them!

I wound up getting #243 or something out of the group on the last mission and just started building in Brisbane for this current one. The wife started in Australia so she's adding a bunch to the mix but sadly she had spelled Toucharcade (Toucharcad) wrong the first time and missed out on the big payout last night.

It takes me ages on my old iPhone3GS to view each individual plane so I took a screenshot of each and every plane and posted them on my blog for my convenience --> Pocket Planes Online Airpedia

*I know... I have a lot of time on my hands ;)

So basically Australia can't make too big of a profit without layovers because of its limited international reach right? I still might keep Australia for Sydney and Melbourne but idk now :/. Might just choose to open something up in Japan.

    Thanks for the advice!

In terms of strategic depth, and the complexity of simulation and micromanagement, is Pocket Planes on a par with Tiny Tower, even more casual, or does it feature some more involved elements for those of us who would rather be playing anything from SimTower and Transport Tycoon to Civilization and Alpha Centauri, but who cannot ignore the fact that all our pals would rather be the managers of tiny airlines rather than kings of the world? ;)

EDIT: I needn't have asked. Downloading and playing for a few minutes made the answer to my question abundantly clear ;)

So, I'm located in Southwestern America, and to do the Brisbane event, would I have to buy the Brisbane airport and a neighboring airport next to Brisbane, plus buy/build a new plane for one of the airports there or would I have to do something else?

Yeah I'm late to answer but imo its leaps and bounds better than Tiny Tower in all aspects. Way more depth, simulation, strategy, and micromanaging involved. :)

    Help

Ok so right now I have 11 airports. Berlin is my biggest airport all the rest are in close proximity to each other and are black dots meaning they are class 1. What I'm wondering is if I'm playing this game right. In pretty much playing like I'm trying to own an airport in each city.is that how you are suppposed to play? And I'd appreciate tips on what planes to use. I've noticed navigators and wallabys make the most for me.i need just general tips. And if I close an airport will I get money back?

    Average revenue now is 93,119.

Plan on getting New York by the end of today.

Finally I got West-East connected. Time to expand North & South and then other countries

    switching out airports

I'm level 9 atm, but at which point should I start switching out c1 for c2 airports? I think at level 10 I get better planes, which I'm saving bux for.

spoiler alert, mini guide, bunch of info that you might like to find out by yourself
You get half the cost of the airport back, I could be wrong.

To get the reward for the event, finish at least 5 jobs, open brisbane and a nearby airport, pop 1 plane there and get the 5, close them.

Easiest way to make money is to expand in as straight a line as possible with the furthest distance possible b/w each city. Straight lines make it easy to do layovers, dropping off right before the destination to gain the bonus.

Don't ever drop off people/cargo if you dont get the bonus, unless it's a "bux." Bux fares are almost always worth it, gives roughly twice as much.

Level 10 gets you a Class 2 planes, switch to blue ports, close black. At this point, Birchcraft is your best plane (4 spaces). Equinox is not good (3 spaces).

If there is a red port near a blue port that you need, think about buying red, as it'll help later. The layover capacity is worth it too. Red ports at the "center" of your airline path also help.

More planes, more attention required, more money.
More airports, less attention required, only makes more money if you have trouble picking up ppl/cargo.

I'm level 15, no class 3 planes yet, but I expect it to be at 16. My daily revenue is 270K, 9 airports, 12 planes. A line from Osaka to Phoenix.

Hope this mini guide/tips helps, haven't read others or seen if these tips have been mentioned.

I need advice on what to purchase next in terms of airports. I've finally unlocked and built a birchcraft-M :D

    Airports:
    Sydney
    Brisbane
    St Louis
    Phoenix
    Salt lake city
    Dallas
    San Diego
    Las Vegas

    Where should I go next?
I'm thinking Toronto, Detroit or atlanta.

What are some tips for really making buko bucks in Australia? I've got the majority of the eastern side of Australia open, and I'm doing okay in the top 120 or do, but how can I boost myself even more?

Well Atlanta is closed due to fog so you can't buy it. I say go for Toronto for its bigger population
