Can anyone tell me how the sub events work please?

I am based in Europe so I cant get to Brisbane, doing the Manchester sci fi event at the moment just not sure how it works.

What is the best plane for trans-atlantic flights?

 

There like smaller events that you can do and you can earn rewards.

 

Is they anyway of finding out where I stand in regards to the event?

 

Seems almost too easy, but...

All my airports are on the West coast of North America. Bought Rockhampton and Brisbane, put a single seater plane in the hangar, paid 2 bux to remove it from hangar and place it in Rockhampton and voila! 1 job added to the event counter every 4 minutes.

 

The annoying thing is that the layover passenger/cargo stay at the airport even if the destination airport has been closed already. I have one guy waiting to get to Oulu but I closed the airport ages ago. I guess I have to reopen it for a while because he's taking a slot in my busy Berlin airport.

 

There should be a small "x" in the corner of the layover passengers and cargo. If you tick it, the passenger gets deleted the next time new jobs are generated.

According to the Airpedia, I think Cloudliner or Concorde (also Starship? ) but I guess you have to wait for a while to get those. I have now Birchcraft and someone said it is possible to fly from New York to London with it after the upgrades. I haven't tested yet.

How can't I see the prices and leaderboards in the events (not the world event)? I'm playing in Europe and make travels to Manchester, one of the events.

 

Are there local events, like Global where you can earn Bux?

 

I feel like investing into Kangaroo planes was a mistake. Dont have very big airports and half of the time cant even fill them full. Oh well.

 

there doing great for me been getting lots for bux jobs off them. I have 154 buxs that I saved up.

 

I think if you click the checkmark under in the events screen it will tell you the progress you've made towards local events. They appear to be solitary affairs (you're not working with the flight crew) and when I tried one it you had to get to 1000 which is is crazy for the amount of time given. I'm not sure if it's something that will come back over time, because even though the event I was trying is over I can still see I completed 37/1000 for it.

 

Looks like you have the exact same strategy as me.

 

So I thought I'd just buy Rockhampton and Brisbane, knock out my 5-10 needed and then just drop the sties and go back to expanding through the Americas, but my little Wallaby-M (1c/1p) is currently my 2nd most profitable plane right now (right now at $2500+).

There have been occasions where I have to wait for a new set of jobs, but usually I can get at least 1p or 1c to go the direction I need to.

So those of you on the fence on whether or not it's worth it to drop a couple of airports in and a plane, I'd say they'll be no problem doing so and easily getting your money back on it.

 

Hey guys, when I go to the flight crew menu now it shows that we have almost 22k jobs complete, how can that be given that the event just started up? Plus when I check the leaderboards for crews it's not showing me 1,2,3,4 etc, it's showing me 1 (us, huge number) then showing me 1584th place...
Bug? Anyone else having this problem?

If you go to Flight Crew and click on it, you can see the jobs by flight crew, the number of jobs you've done for the event, and your place in the crew.
