For what it's worth... when we had the white jobs at the very beginning, I held a few just for fun. When the blue jobs showed up the next morning, the original white layover jobs never changed.
Decided I might like another Huey. Took 3 Seaknights and ran 6 trips each with 5 passengers/cargo. 35 per SK for a total of 105 jobs. My total job count so far is 17. Have seemingly lost all interest in PPs. I have tried different routes, bux only setup, even parking planes for a few evens then coming back like the Huey event. So far I play maybe once or twice a day and partway through loading planes I close the game and go do something else. I don't know how you guys and gals pull off thousands of jobs for events without burnout setting in.
Neither have I, however I did get a mystery part delivery so even if I get 0 jobs I still got a part. I'm pretty annoyed over it though since I reopened Jerusalem just for this event.
I had the same problem for ages and then suddenly all the jobs started turning into event jobs. No idea what it was
Welcome back! Of course I remember you. I loved hearing about the various strategies you used ~6 months ago. Are you still playing?
Nonetheless, we are happy to have you, kr3500! Sent you a request on GC. Everyone in the top five or ten is nearly indispensable this time...if any of us were to switch teams or suddenly lose our jobs, TA1 would instantly be in third place.
That's awesome! I remember you. I take it you are still playing? I've recently started again (it was taking over my life!!!) and i'm trying to work out a strategy so that I don't have to keep playing constantly. Last time, it was great for someone investing a lot of time but I just want to pick up, fill some planes, set them off and come back and do the same without having to feed 'hubs' with layovers to fill a cloudliner!
I can relate to games taking over my life. Right now I'm playing at my own pace. I've got a set of planes that do long distance routes. I've got a set of planes to do the Global Event. I've got Bux planes. I fling the long term flights when I don't have much time, and the short term stuff if I'm sitting around watching TV. Sadly, most of the time I just ignore the Bux planes (not enough time). Tried the Cloudliner, decided it wasn't for me when I'd send it off once a day (maybe two times if I was lucky). But that was an M. If I do it again, I'd choose P & C. The more active peeps on this forum have moved to #toucharcade1 so we can see each others' names on the Leaderboard ... this makes it more interesting and competitive. Snowbird (a few posts up) has the link to the TA1 spreadsheet at the bottom of her post. (I should figure out how to do that in my posts) ... it enumerates members' forum/GC names, and there are sheets for each Global Event to track the leaderboard. There have been some interesting posts while you've been gone, here are a few in no particular order: Merlion's strategy http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2558082&postcount=9578 Vic's bux collection strategy http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2526262&postcount=8810 Vic's mystery part strategy http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2529069&postcount=8890 Vic's mystery part tips http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2506282&postcount=8476 Vic's Rio event strategy (which can be applied to other events) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2523199&postcount=8744 CastlePage's bux strategy: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2558050&postcount=9577 Pezmage's double rout plan (part #1) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2347932&postcount=5038 Pezmage's sequoia plan (part #2) http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2347934&postcount=5039 SlightlyNorth's 4-hub/feeder configuration: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2392642&postcount=6174 Umbrasquail's dual-hub strategy: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2392887&postcount=6179 Andrwsc's advice from a level 41 player: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2412343&postcount=6550 What mystery parts look like: http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2365795&postcount=5677 Pocket Planes video http://www.escapistmagazine.com/videos/view/loadingreadyrun/6039-Pocket-Planes
Hey, most of the active forum members have joined #TouchArcade1, as the original TA was overwhelmed by lurkers that googled it to get an easy first crew prize! We all have exchanged our GC (list link in my signature). the idea is to keep the global event a bit more challenging and friendly. We usually fight for the second place with Nimblewiki with only a few 1000's jobs spread. And we see buddies names in the leaderboards, which is way more fun! Are you still playing? Edit: wow, massive post from Faye
It's 3am here, time to head to bed. Action packed day ahead (kid's winter program performance, holiday party, then inlaws) so won't have much time to play PP . . . . . so I fully expect you to leapfrog over me on the Leaderboard in the next 9 hours.
Thanks for the info dude - might have a good look through some of them! I just have an Asia setup at the minute of Beijing, Tokyo, Guangzhou, Manila, Bangkok and Delhi. Just filling planes and sending them on their way before I can get the planes / money required to setup a proper long route. It's then I need to decide how i'm going to approach the game. If I can get a setup I can relatively easily re-visit and close when I please, then i'm much more likely to keep playing the game. Any good advice for setting up a fairly fun, easy to drop and pick back up strategy? Think I might join TouchArcade1 as well - sounds better and more of a challenge than just joining the standard winners every time! How do I get set up with this spreadsheet and what not?
Yeah i've started playing again - lvl 16 in a couple of days. I've just joined TouchArcade1 so i'll try and get involved heavily on the next event if i've managed to get my main route sorted by then. My GC is the same as my name - jdrawmer
Ok I'm all set. Got my main route set up for what I can achieve with my level / planes (London --> Istanbul --> Delhi --> Guangzhou --> Tokyo) with 8 planes servicing the route, and 4 planes servicing the event!
