So close, flip flopping positions. Guess I better get off my lazy behind and fling more planes across the globe ... We MUST come in second !!!! Still, we are doing much better given the much fewer people we have. I'm working a bit harder on this event than usual .. cuz. I might not be able to do much in the next event due to some travel. I closed 7 airports: LA, Chicago, Tehran, Shanghai, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo. I still have these 5 from before: NY, Mex, London, Paris, and Cairo. And then I bought 4 cities for the event: Rio, SP, BA, Lima. I was thinking about closing London/Paris ... but decided to keep them, otherwise my Aeroeagles can't cross the Atlantic unless I keep Rio and open up Lagos/Kinshasa. TA1 crew is tougher, more competition, and I really like seeing all the names on the Leaderboard ... except I still have a blank spot on mine (right now #5 at 1948 jobs, WHO is this????) On the other hand, is was very nice of us to make this move to TA1, as it allows many other people from TAO to more easily hold a Top 10 position now that we aren't taking up those spots. Very nice report on the other crews & standings. Thanks! It makes more sense to buy the closer east Africa cities, Lagos/Kinshasa, for this event. Mine is configured almost like yours, except I have airports further out ... London, Paris, Cairo. So my spikes are centered at Rio and reach out toward: Sao Paolo, Buenos Aires, Lima, Mexico City, NY, London, Paris, Cairo. I am NOT making any significant coins or Bux from this configuration. I'm not Bux/Coin-rich (certainly not in the way Vic is rich), but becoming wealthy isn't my goal here. I just have enough to allow me to rearrange my fleet between events. That Duran Duran song has played in my head during this event; they were a favorite group of mine a "few" years back. I'm not so familiar with the Pablo Cruise song. I sent you something but am not sure I sent 1 of each part, short term memory, might have sent 2 of the same type. Let me know if you're missing something.
Just a little something for a fellow "FIREFLY" fan!!!! I really miss Summer being on the TV...She just has had no luck at all on any of the shows she has tried...Summer for Batgirl...Please Joss!! Cheers captainbrowncoat!!!
Aww, thanks very much!!! I miss Summer too, and she would make a GREAT Batgirl. Did you get the email today about the 10th Anniversary Special on Sunday night? http://science.discovery.com/tv/firefly/unlock.html and http://science.discovery.com/tv/firefly/
You are welcome....And YES the reminder is already set!!!! Have fun with the FogBuster!!!! Cheers Chewbacca!
Thank you also, vicsark!!! What a great group of people! I'm so surprised and am going to have fun flying in style.
New update! 1.1.0. Just says bug fixes so hopefully they fixed the achievements that weren't triggering, and I can at last get Barrow from 99% to 100%. And I hope they fixed those annoying little spelling errors too. Not sure how much I can play this weekend, but hopefully enough to keep TA1 in second.
Hey guys, I updated some stats including our top 10 and used Train2000 research on other team to add more (* not updated) Feel free to add more info! Remember to add your GC and forum name in our TouchArcade1 crew spreadsheet here if you have joined us : Click here for a list of TA1 members and their GameCenter ID's It's still a close race for 2nd place, keep up the good team effort As you can see, we are a bit more than 50 active in this event in TouchArcade1 crew. Versus more than 3500 for TA original, about 400 for Jayisgames and NimbleWiki, and 300 for Polygon. #1 team TouchArcade 282,763 jobs #1 2873 jobs * #10 923 jobs * #3585 1 job * #2 team TouchArcade1 48,553 #1 6335 nokitano #2 4516 SlightlyNorth #3 4386 Vic Sark #4 4372 Faye #5 2116 Teodor2001 #6 2078 sdo62 #7 1948 ? #8 1898 Pondusfm #9 1759 castlepage (hey man!) #10 1723 greenpaper (entry in the top10 ) #53 1 job * #3 team Nimblewiki 47,049 jobs #1 1504 jobs * #10 567 * #412 1 job * #4 team JayisGames 30,628 jobs #1 1310 jobs * #10 403 * #389 1 job * #5 team Polygon 21,842 jobs #1 1615 jobs #10 358 #286 1 job #9 team Pockettactics 6,872 jobs #1 876 jobs #10 241 #10 team IGN 6,460 jobs #1 574 jobs #10 173 #12 team Air Nasioc 3,736 jobs #1 774 jobs #10 68
I concur! Thank you nokitano!!!! I am overwhelmed by this teams generosity. I was so excited to be level 20. You guys have made my afternoon. The upgraded planes are a game changer and are so much fun. I hope to pay it forward to other newbies as I grow my fleet.
I saw it recently, it was great, it's a shame it was so short Did you see the campaign endorsement clip of Josh Whedon? http://jamellebouie.net/post/34515852484/the-best-endorsement-of-this-election-cycle
Oh Vic, THANK YOU ! Between you and kitFisto, I can retire It's so great to see enemy info. Chinese have a saying "know yourself, know the other, battle 100 times, win 100 times". A little surprised to make it to the top 10. My main concern to do my part to reclaim #2 spot back for TA1. We were about 1k job behind when I got home last night. So I temporarily abandoned my flawed bux strategy. Babysat (is this the correct past tense?) 2 sequoias on round trip to Rio-SP, and bux boost return trips to Lima. jiayou TA1 ! Let's strive to widen the gap between TA1 and Nimblewiki to make sure that we retain #2 spot ! Edit: Greenpaper and Pondusfm putting up a good fight ! Despite my babysitting, Greenpaper just leapfrogged me. Way to go Greenpaper !
I emailed Nimblebit about an issue I was having with the job counter failing to count most of my jobs (just noticed it this event, hmmm...) and he said that the update today was to fix that (and probably other bugs). I'm basically out of this event, but I hope to be in it for the next one!
Question Hi, since I'm at an average level, I'm not sure what class 3 planes are better for average use. Not considering the initial price, but considering their weight, speed (especially to see if I can do many jobs quickly) and range, what would you think is a better average plane, in the order of preference: Cloudliner, Cyclone, and Sequoia. I would also like to know if Cyclones are better than Sequoias, because a lot of people have many Sequoias. Thanks
The main reason Sequoias have such popularity is that they have a cheap cost to run. They are slower so if you're lookig for speed I would go Cyclone. Im level 27 so dont know about c- liners
The cyclone has more potential because it will average more profit per hour compared to the sequoia. That being said, if you are only an occasional player, that potential is wasted and the sequoia then triumphs over the cyclone. If you are someone that likes to constantly refill planes and send them on frequent flights then the cyclone is certainly the right choice. More jobs, quicker. But I'm lazy and only occasionally fly(less and less lately), so I love my sequoia army.
Also, along the lines of what Bluebear was saying, if you don't mind the slower pace, the next time there's an event for blimps really go for the mystery parts and accumulate them. I'm running a fleet of 10 blimps for events and love them. They're slow, but when you max out range and weight upgrades, they effectively run for free, and have the same range of a maxed out Mohowk (with 1 extra load per).
I'm more concerned about maintaining TA1's #2 position! How I end up finishing amongst the team is secondary. I won't have much time to play on Saturday, except for ~1 hr before bedtime (in the hopes that jobs in the last hour or so will count)...
I love speed. When I was at lvl 1x, I had several pearjets and love their speed. I knew that all the big players on this forum operate a large fleet on sequoias. Fogbuster and cyclone are faster than sequoia. And cyclone ... seeing cyclone suck up all the jobs to 25% is sheer pleasure. I used a twin-hub strategy ... Tokyo/seoul on the east and Chicago/New York on the west. I had dedicated areoeagles layover Tokyo/seoul jobs in Chicago/New York and vice versa so that when the big planes come, they could simply suck up the 25% bonus and fly off immediately. And it was good money (coin-wise) too. Then the big guns on the forum started talking about the bux that they were getting during the Ottawa event. 3000bux in 2-3 days (Vic made 5k bux in the last event I think.) I don't even have 3000 bux to my name in my entire PP career So I gave up my twin hub strategy and tried to copy their strategy (i.e. lie and wait for bux. forget about 25% bonus.) And understood their love for sequoias. Rustysnowman's calculator shows that per hour profit for cloudliner is more than sequoia's. Cyclone doesn't do too badly either. But the numbers are for same-city, i.e. 25% bonus. For the bux strategy, you fill the plane with bux jobs and then hop around different cities. Cyclones and cloudlines are too expensive to operate without that 25% bonus. It took me 1.5 global event duration to switch to a bux strategy and cost me almost all my bux (buying and upgrading sequoias). Since then, my coins did not grow, i.e. I could not afford anymore airports. In fact, for this event, my coins dropped from 2.1m to 1.8m. But the bux .... I'm at 19960 bux now
