Well I play for 1-2 hours at a time when regular life is under control, and for that time period, my class 1 planes (2x mohawk-c and 3x mohawk-p) fly pretty much non-stop! The pilots have their holidays when there's an event that isn't at a class 1 city (but they must remain in the hangar). Edit: just bought a complete Kangaroo-C to help with the cargo deliveries... Ouch, that's pretty silly... hope they didn't fly in from Asia! As a side note, I almost advertised for LA (instead of San Diego)... and this is the first time I've ever used advertising.
Hey Guys How do you trigger the gold mystery parts? I know they occur during the full plane prize events, but are they random or does something trigger them?
It's completely random... I've delivered about 700 jobs so far, and at the halfway mark, I had 2 golden cargos appear (in LA of all places). I haven't seen any others since then.
They are random, popping up at 1% of cargo jobs. Advertising will increase the number of new jobs, so be sure to do that. Also, it helps to keep your planes on the ground in as many airports as you can, so that you can scan them all quickly on each job refresh to find new parts. The mystery part random generator isn't helping me... I have 16 body parts, but only 6 controls and 4 engines.
Same here, 8 bodies,6 controls, 1 engine. I made one Balloon to test it. I guess we'll trade to even the parts
Hahaha same thing here, I only found 1 engine. I had no idea the balloon gave 100% profit, now I want to fill my fleet with them. Maybe I can keep a dozen balloons in my fleet ... when I collect enough Bux to cash in for enough coins to meet your 42 airplane slot challenge Well... I guess it would also depend on how far those balloons can reach without having to open up too many extra cities along the way. Tell me I'm not the only one who accidentally deletes a layover (hitting the X) while scrolling through the list of jobs. I wish there was an "undo" and I could just make it a layover again whenever that happens.
Yes, it's very slow and carries a single passenger. It is terrible for normal gameplay. But it's a rare aircraft that helps you complete the Airpedia checklist. 59 of 62 planes are now available, and undoubtedly the Kringle Kruiser will be the reward for a global event around December 25. That just leaves the Concorde and the C-130 Hercules. But I imagine some people will use the balloon for the Nome-Wellington achievement (for example) just for fun. I think I'm going to burn a plane slot to put a balloon up for a 365-day flight, at no cost.
Nope, wasn't me. Only did a few hundred on the last one. The mystery box adventure makes it more fun to push this event a bit. Definitely getting lots more boxes just from sheer volume turnover compared to the last one with Blimp boxes. Will do the same for next new plane mystery box event like the santa sleigh
I regret doing this, but I'm going to have to begin swapping out my all P fleet back to an all M fleet. I'm telling ya', NimbleBit should let us change design on the planes...
No, NYC is my main staging/launching point for North America-Eurasia flights. Almost every flight seems to start or end there. Basically grab LA/SF/Honolulu bound jobs from Eurasia or the reverse and work on making flights leaving NYC +25%. I am running the global event out of LA. With all of 2 Roos. And I still have over 300 jobs done. Not too shabby I guess. YES. THIS. My fleet is mainly P, with a couple C. I Can't clear out the layovers fast enough. Wish there was a cheaper way to switch them all to M...
Apparently I'm getting all the engines but am shortest on bodies. Should be able to help trade anyone short on engines after the event ends. I've got more than 10 extra engines compared to anything else right now.
This game was a lovely companion to playing dwarf fortress, now it seems like dwarf fortress just gets in the way of me playing this As for the event, I've finally stopped trying to ship stuff from europe over to LA and moved everything there. Just went from 100 to 200 completed jobs in an hour (i'm only lvl 15). Can see Spike and Merlionine on the leaderboard now, so hopefully I'm catching up to the active people here (#36)
