I have switched over to TA1, but I got a late start on this event, so I'm sure I won't be able to crack the top 10, but good seeing more names on the leaderboard. I've sent requests to a bunch of you, anyone I may have missed feel free to add me as well.
Morning all ! I woke up to find cybernator had detonated right to the top of list with some 800 jobs ahead of me. LOL I'm curious, what's your strategy? because I was babysitting almost non stop. How do you tap and scroll faster? I have random crashes all the time until it is more like constant crashes than random ones. Is there anyway to turn off the white banner that announces whatever plane that has landed? Mapple and mohawks round trip is 2min, so you can imagine the frequency of those pop ups. I dislike them because I am usually looking at the status bar at the top to see my plane's sitting capacity. I try to click on the close button to off that banner, and often it closes PP altogether. Very annoying. I had my hands full babysitting the mapple and mohawks. No time to scroll through bux catching planes that I gave them up altogether and concentrated on flying halloween jobs to LA. BTW, about the bux jobs, are there more cargo bux than passenger bux? I find that I have 5C 0P a lot of times. KitFisto: are you back on the Internet? jiayou to getting more mystery parts. I wish the designs of the plane stays the same for the same type of plane (e.g. areoeagle). I'm a fanatic about color coding the planes. Purple tail sequoias - +15% range upgrade to fly direct Lima-London Orange tail sequoias - +5% to fly Lima-Kinshasa and Kinshasa-Jakarta Cream-colored bodies - sweeping up halloween jobs Grey-colored bodies - waiting for same city jobs, aiming for 25% bonus Yellow-color bodies - bux jobs/deliveries. Basically, when I see cream or grey color, I scroll to find out the city and just add more of that same city jobs. When a yellow plane lands, I know it needs more attention, especially deciding on the next leg destination. I usually have say bux jobs from all over (east, west, south) at the same time, so by the time I reach Tehran, I lost track of which direction I had intended to fly. Morning BoomerKidd and sdo62. I'm having so much fun "racing" against you all. I'm having a full day all the way into the night, so I hope I'll manage to stay in the TOP 50. In any case, I can report the leaderboard stats below Hi coastcat, stay safe. You know what? When you said hurricane sandy, for a long time I thought you were referring to sdo62 because her name is Sandra. I had described her as a tornado that tore up the leaderboard in the last event (zanzibar). It was later when reading other peoples' posts advising you to stay safe and your comment about electricity from car battery that I realized that you're talking about a REAL hurricane. Don't worry about balloon parts. I'll send you a full balloon. OK I gotta run. See you all and have a great day flying.
Yea Castle, I seem to crash a lot when those airplane landing alerts popup. As for the cargo bux, I think it kinda comes in waves sometimes. Usually I get a random mix of cargo and people bux jobs but there are times where I may see only cargo or only people bux jobs for hours of job refreshes. This event I've had a good mix I think, but I will watch more closely.
In the TA app I can't find such a function Cybernator is more than 1k jobs ahead of both of us I think it's impossible to catch up lol. Yepp I also kind of gave up on hoarding bux and am just concentrating on sending SD jobs to LA from South America. I even closed my Asian cities so that the job pool won't be diluted. I get the random crashes too. It gets quite annoying especially when I'm in the midst of sending planes off.
I can't seem to post when I've attached an image. Do you have the latest version of the app? It should be right underneath the text box. [ Add an attachment ]
Pretty basic, 12 Mapple's out of mostly LA(few phoenix) with a feeder system of seq's/cyclones/aero's. Too much micromanaging that last hop, don't think one person could go much faster. Hard to get balanced jsut right. Stopped looking for mystery boxes but running into lots of them just on sheer volume of items being moved.
Was wondering why I was so lonely with only anonymous numbers on the top of TouchArcade, I now know the reason... TA1 eh? Wish I knew about it before sending all those planes lol. I will make the switch for competitions sake the next event. Currently sitting at #2 in TAO with 1642 jobs, only just woke up. #1 is at 1781 jobs. It's time to refuel my fleet an keep trucking My GC is PondusFM for the ones that wants to add me in advance. Also if theres anymore active members in TAO, it would be cool seeing names again... -PondusFM
Man, I thought I was doing good, moving a lot of jobs... Then I check the Flight Crew, show I currently have 208 jobs done for ... 35th in crew... Wow. Thanks to those who have sent me Sequoias. Damn, talk about of ton of stuff on layover now. I'm almost keeping NYC full until they all end up there at once and empty it mostly out.
Useful TIPS inside for global events full planes strategy, mystery parts! I thought about the best strategy to focus on Mystery parts in global events that have full planes, and at the same time doing thousand of jobs. You don't have to be level 30+ or flush in coins and Bux or plane slots. You need to be at the minimum level 16 to have access to Aeroeagles (best would be Sequoias, level 22), have about a million coins and minimum 18 plane slots. But you'd have to forget about coins, Bux and 25% bonus during the event and wanting to restructure totally your game, including spending a lot of Bux and coins: 1/ Airports : Close all your airports, keeping just - the event airport : San Diego (class 1) - the closest class 3 airport : LA - 4 of the next closest class 3 airports : NY, Chicago, Mexico, Lima Fully upgrade all the Class 3 airports to have the biggest job pool possible, and the max layovers in LA. Advertise all the time the target airport : San Diego 2/ Planes Depending on your level, Bux and coins, you may use Aeroeagles, Sequoias or Cyclones. You need at least 18 plane slots, hangar of all the planes that are not on the list below : - Have 5 Aeroeagles/Sequoias C, one sitting in each class 3 airport, just focused on getting mystery parts and not moving until they're full of them. Have 8 Sequoias/Aeros/Cyclone Ms, 2 for each class 3 airport excluding the closest (LA) doing back and forth transfer of San Diego jobs to LA. - Have 5 Kangaroos M (or Sea Knights or whichever M class 1 plane) just doing back and forth LA/San Diego. Do round trips, don't even stop in the target airport (SD) (press on SD then back on LA) 3/ Play - At each 5 minute session, priority is to go to your 5 class 3 airports Aeros C and check for mystery parts. - Do the Roos round trip LA/SD - Do the Aeros/Seq/Cyclone Ms back and forth LA/NY LA/Chicago LA/Lima LA/Mexico. It's your call to send them back empty or not from LA. If they are too many layovers in LA, you may boost the Roos to empty them faster VoilĂ ! This is the basis strategy, you may have more planes, or slightly less but I wouldn't have more aiports. This is applied to the San Diego Halloween event, but it should be useful in almost any case, with some tweaks depending on the avaibility of close class 3 airports and the class of the global event airport. I won't do it now, 'cause I like my 15 airports and have tons of layovers all around. Or I'll try on my wife's phone (lvl 20 game) Or for the Concorde?!
You r flying to San Diego from NYC? (wondering about the tons of layovers at NYC). Err why not LA? LOL Yes, we're all hanging out at TA1 now. And it's great fun here. We started TA1 during the Zanzibar event. Train 2000 proved that his train is more efficient than all our planes. Then Nokitano proved that he WAS the ex-level 60 by muscling up to the top. Our heavyweights occupied the top spots. I was the gatekeeper at #10; there was a big difference the heavyweights in TOP 10 and the rest of us. After a while, Bluebear decided to retire to his winter hibernation and I took his spot. And lo behold a new comer, pretty sdo62 came tearing up the leaderboard. She gobbled Bear, twisted SlightlyNorth to SlightlySouth, and came after me. Did I try to run? Of course I did, but it was useless. sdo62 swept past me and moved ahead claiming new victims. Yesterday, Boomerkidd and sdo62 and I had fun wrestling for the top spots. We were playing hopscotch, taking turns to occupy the top spot. I had my brief moment of glory at the top spot for a little while. But all the time, I saw this unknown number lurking through the grass coming up. It turned out to be cybernator who threw a detonated a bomb and flattened us. Look at him now, #3930 jobs compared to bomberkidd's 2788 jobs at #2. The post below shows how he did it. I thot I was busy enough with 1 mapple and 4 mohawks. He has 12 Mapples ! Emphasis on "Mapple" and the number 12. (If looks could kill, he'd be skewered by our green eyes) He must have magic fingers. Sometime during the day, Vic came striding up with his entourage of 41 planes. What could I do but to meekly bow out of his way? Thanks for listening to my stories. Wouldn't you agree that this is much more fun than some impersonal numbers staring back at you? I'm laughing so hard. Are you slave driving your pilots? I gave mine a half a day break and pay them 25% bonus when they fly.
Just hope they don't unionize! Then we'd have to give them breaks, holidays, vacation, health benefits, overtime, and retirement plans!
Thank you for taking the time to write this up, I'm sure it will be helpful to many people. My 13 airports (and picking up San Diego jobs from 4 SE Asia cities) is a good example of how to play inefficiently. LOL I really enjoyed reading your description of the Zanibar event.
I have 19 airports, and like you I have planes running between LA & Asia for the San Diego event... but hey, we play the game the way we want to! Me too!
Yep, and I play like both of you too with 15 airports in EA, SA and Africa. The strategy is more a "what if I wanted to focus only on getting mystery parts and nothing else, what would I do?". It would be boring but efficient I guess. I'm wondering how many mystery parts one would be able to gather? And I vote for Castlepage to be the writer of what happened on every TA1's global event lol @Cybernator Are you the one who was first in the last TA events with twice more jobs than the 2nd??
Hey is there a prize for dumbest move? I was looking to boost my mediocre performance in this event and came up with a brilliant idea. I'm already round-tripping my LA - San Diego drones, so why not speed things up by also round-tripping the big boys who are sending jobs to LA from the class 3 cities? Um, since the jobs are just layovers in LA, they happily stayed on board all the back from whence they came.
