The Great Hammerfest Stitch-up Hi all, first post but long time lurker. I take it prizes from the recent Hammerfest event have been handed out?! I've been done, good and proper. I only bought Hammerfest for the event, and I took a screen grab at 8.15 this morning which said I had delivered 141 jobs to Hammerfest. When I went to bed last night, it said I had done 39 jobs on the flight crew screen. I go in and out of Wi-fi and sometimes don't even get 3G, so does this explain where the hell more than 100 jobs I delivered went?!
The prizes can be delayed for some time. I received mine several hours after the end of the event, so you'll probably get yours too.
Embassy Dinner in Washington D.C. Seems appropriate... Plus, it's my first event I'm gonna do after 2 months.
Yes it is incoming Passenger only, but you might notice, some of the outgoing cargo from DC is part of the theme, mostly Spy Documents I believe. And I'm thinking this is the second time we've had a global event like this. I'm not sure but the Spy Documents might count toward your total job count.
I didnt notice the spy documents. I always send my planes on roundtrips in the global events. I dont think they count. Im using my Pearjet P`s on this event. 1 from NY, 1 from Chicago, 2 from LA and 2 from Mexico. I gave away all my big P planes so im not gonna earn alot on each trip. but that`s ok. I have 15 Sequoia M`s running around earning money. Right now i have done 353 jobs and im number 1 in this event.
I can't recall if the outgoing cargo counts, but I don't think it does (it's not in blue). This isn't the first single-type global event we've had; Kinshasa was a medical conference and Trondheim was an Elvis convention, both of which were passenger-only. I think the only event that is just cargo is the prison break which we haven't had as a global event yet. A mere 30 bux? I'm just doing the minimum here with a couple Aero Ps running from LA and NY, not even bothering with layovers. This is a global event in my real-life city, and it's hardly worth the effort! It's a little alarming (or should be to NimbleBit) that I only sent about 240 jobs to Hammerfest and still finished in the top 30. Hmm... my individual event counter appears to have reset itself. I still have credit for the two I completed, but it looks like I'm starting from scratch for the others. Thank goodness I finished up the college party a few days ago because I only had a few jobs left on that one and would have been seriously annoyed at losing credit for over 980 jobs!
At one point, I was tied with Bluebear @ 50 jobs... now he's probably passed me. I haven't done an event in weeks so I'm rusty... And now my GC is broken... woo hoo! -.-
I saw you there xD but I'm still at 50. I stopped to do the Punta Aires achievement. I can't make myself do more than 50 jobs for 30 bux, so I'll finish Punta aires and start collecting bux jobs for my normal route. Thanks CastlePage for the Aero!
Bear: no problem. It was sitting in my hangar. I retired my pearjets (had several !) to the hangar as they were really more expensive to fly. Los Angeles is closed. 3 planes are stuck there, including AreoP Plus, I can't make my Honolulu jobs (luckily my areos were out of Honolulu). So ... it's bedtime.
Been 13 hours now, think it's safe to say that I effectively wasted my time sending 141 jobs to an airport to not even reach a 50 job cut off. Does anyone have any idea why this has happened? I think it happened with Perth too, I sent way more than 50 jobs but my Flight Crew page said 51.
Do you use iCloud to sync between 2 devices? I lost some parts and Bux due to bad sync. people paying on 2 devices should always play a bit on the device they get their prize or gift on, have some XP registered (planes landing jobs), then exit and reenter the app so it syncs with GC and NimbleBit's servers.
I have had lot of trouble with jobs not counting with the past two events. The only way I could get any jobs to count was to keep pocket planes open during the entire flights. It's really annoying but it's the only way I could figure out. It's like the phone recognizes the jobs were completed but the phone forgets to tell PP servers because I get all the notifications that the plane has landed and all the money and bux are collected but the counter just doesn't change when I put my phone in lock screen or switch to another app before the plane lands. I emailed support once, but never recieved any help. I don't know if this event is having the same trouble because I focused on getting the jobs done really fast so I could work on Punta Aires. If it happens again I will reemail them and see if they have anything to say.
No, just an iPhone. That's all I can assume - maybe just it has to be open when it lands as I don't play long enough to have many full flights. Am having the same problem with this Washington one as well, I think.
My jobcounter updates after a couple minutes. I have done 516 jobs. Will i lose my jobs if i close Washington? I think i will start doing the minimum amount a jobs in bux only events. I'm sending four of my pearjets to europe to start with an event In Barcelona and continue with a pearjet in NY and Chicago if i have to.
Hello everyone. I've been lurking for a few months now, love the community and how helpful everyone is. I've definitely improved my process thanks to all of you guys. I'm trying to work my way up to at least 500k/day, which I will assume will come with some time. But I'm also looking on some help on bringing in a lot of bux. Here's my current setup: 3 - Cyclone (1M, 1P, 1C) 6 - Sequoia (2M, 2C, 2P) 5 - Aeroeagle (5M) 3 - Misc (Usually a rotation of Kangaroos that I use just for events. With the DC event I have an Aero-P making runs between LA-DC) I have my Sequoias and my Cyclone-P/C running between NA/SA & Asia: NA - LA/CHI -> SHAN/MAN SA - LIMA/MEX -> TOK/SEO Depending on what my layovers are like I will let a NA plane take a full load to Mexico City. Then 3 Aeros in NAs feeding jobs to LA/MEX/LIM and 2 in Asia feeding jobs between Tokyo/Seoul/Shanghai/Manila. Then my Cyclone-M I have transporting only bux jobs. I wait until it's full and try to keep on a straight line, picking up bux jobs for any cities left on my stops, or any passengers/cargo for my final destination to try and make back some of the cost of the trip. Should I be waiting for refreshes until it's full of jobs for just one destination? Any suggestions are welcome. I also have an extra Bobcat Engine, p-40 controls, blimp controlsx2/body & starship controls/body if anyone is interested in any trades. I'm looking to complete a huey (have engine) or sea knight (have controls). My GC name is PapiChullo84 Sorry for the long post.
If you close Washington you will keep any jobs you have completed, I close Washington earlier this morning and still have the 50 I completed. I've done this for every bux only event so no worries there. If you wanna keep the cyclone dedicated to bux only, I would just grab every bux job available and not worry about where they are going. Remember as long as you are saving up lots of bux they will eventually be so valuable that any loss you incur now will be paid off ten fold when you cash in a big sum. Good luck!

Dude, wait at least 48 hours before accusing a player scamming you! I know it seems odd, but a lot of players don't play around the clock lol. Some may even have jobs, kids, travel and all Or no Internet all the time! Or access to their Mac in this case! I've never been conned, after completing dozens of trade, but sometimes you got to wait a bit. Ppl are surprisingly reliable for things like that ;P
