London to NY on an Aeroeagle with fuel upgrades. I think it's +15% but I could be wrong.

Aeros are also class two so there are a couple other class two airports available to get your aeros across if London/new York is closed anytime

    I'll FedEx it to you!

I have two routes set up:

    1st: New York - Paris - Tehran - Tokyo
    2nd: Rio - Kinshasa - Jakarta

I have a fleet of Sequoias running back and forth along those routes. They mainly pick up BUX jobs and deliver them to the end points as layovers. I then have a Sequoia running between New York and Rio, and another one between Tokyo and Jakarta. These two planes are dedicated to bringing BUX layovers from the other route to the one where the planes going back and forth can pick them up and deliver them. So far this has been working out well and the entire system keeps itself pretty clean.

I'm not sure this is the best way to do it, but so far it is working well for me with minimal maintenance.

LOL I can't remember my stats class. 30 is good too. If you don't have enough plane slots, I'll be more than happy to take over some of the excess :) :D

Wow 21 class one planes. I have 21 planes flying in total.
The flight crew leaderboard shows #1 at 2441 now. Wonder how he/she does it. Reminds me of North's rant of one global event whereby someone sent 2000 jobs/hr.

Yes you're right. I just checked the trusty rustysnowman PP calculator. :)

Wow! Just wondering though, with each refresh giving probably 2-4 bux jobs, do you wait a couple of refreshes to fill your planes with bux jobs or just send them off with coin jobs that are along the way?

Me too still. I got stuck on 43 jobs for Perth and delivered 150+, missing out on a spaceship part.

Already delivered about 10 to Hammerfest and nothing is showing yet.

All that effort and nothing to show for it!

Is there a bug that doesn't allow us to sell certain airports? For some reason, I can't sell New York. I switched to a SA <> Asia route, and I'd rather not see jobs back to NY in the job list when I'm not going there anymore.. :|

    New ideas

Would anybody else like an emergency landing button? Every now and then I hit the Fly button and them immediately think "oh, I should have done this other thing instead, oh well...". I imagine the button would be labelled ABORT! ABORT! And of course to be realistic, it should land your plane at the nearest available airport.

Also think it would be fun if every once in a blue moon some disaster would happen. Plane crash at a random airport. Heh.

yes, there are times I regret sending a plane.

As for the plane crash, that would explain the ghost passengers that NoKitano and Faye and some others saw. :p

SuperUberNorth: I'm waiting (for the Fedex package to arrive) DHL is faster I think :)

I'll try your idea out. I've switched like 3 or 4 strategies within the last 3 days LOL. The minimal maintenance appeals to me. My original twin hub cities at both end of the long route require the feeder plane constantly ferry jobs to layover at both ends to maintain equilibrium. Once I stop (say sleep or busy day), the big planes are stuck until there's enough jobs generated.

North, a few qn about the sequoias that plough up and down your two routes.
    1. Say the NY-Paris-Tehran-Tokyo route. You start at tokyo, do you stop at every stop along the way and drop off/pick up passengers? Or you actually aim for 25% bonus and wait for jobs to generate to fill the plane?
    2. Suppose you are at Tehran and there is a Rio bux job. What do you do? Carry the rio bux job down to the next stop Paris ? or route end NY? or u skip down to the Rio-Kinshasa-Jakarta route?
    3. Do you randomly fill the plane with jobs and hop down to the next stop, or do you wait to fill with bux or 25% bonus?

I haven't looked into hammerfest yet. Only train 2000 in the leaderboard. Either he's stopped sending jobs or the leaderboard is not updating. I think his 542 jobs didn't change since a few hours ago.

    1. I kind of make this up as I go along. If I feel I just sent some planes to Tokyo and that later there will be too many there waiting to pick up jobs, I might send the next one to Tehran instead. No rule on this, but usually they are not stopping along the way. In NYC I may put in a majority of Tokyo jobs and a couple of Tehran and Paris and then just let the plane drop off jobs as it hops through. Basically the plan is to make sure most planes are making a profit unless it is mostly filled with BUX jobs.

    2. Yes, this is where the transfer planes are important. They are the only ones hopping between routes. So in your example, I would take those jobs I found in Tehran to either NYC or Tokyo and then let a transfer plane get them down into the other route's system.

    3. I don't really have a set rule on this. Usually though, if it is the only plan in that city, I will leave it there picking up BUX jobs until it is mostly full and then pad it with coin jobs and send it on. If there are more than one plane in that city, I will grab bux and then pack it with coin jobs for a profit and sent it on.

My previous strategy was this kind of clockwise route where the planes would only move on once they were 100% filled with BUX jobs. I was making a good amount of BUX until one of the cities decided it didn't want to give me cargo BUX jobs anymore. I think I had 8 planes sitting there with 5 passengers and 0 cargo. I think that was the point that I decided it was better to keep the planes moving rather than checking on jobs every 5 minutes and missing out on good ones in the next city.

I'm done with hammerfest. I've sent some last planes to clean up my layovers, but seeing the leader quadruple my amount of jobs sent while I was going nonstop with 21 planes for a couple of hours boosting some planes with Bux...it's not worth it.

Also, I finished all 44 events awhile ago and I have every plane that has been released. I'm shutting it down for awhile. I'll check it at the global event changes, but that's it for now.

    1. Not really... And yes, I occasionally send an empty plane back for the coin cost in fuel and the 1 bux boost if I see a job that has no available plane to pick it up. This usually happens when (say) I have an Aeroeagle-M that has three loaded cargo or passenger bux jobs and a fourth bux job of the same type is available.
    2. No, you need to pick up the bux job and move it to any other airport so that it can become a new layover there. Later, you bring it back the other way with an appropriate plane. So in your example (which specifically has happened to me!) I'd pick up the Honolulu job and send the plane from LA to New York (probably) since the other bux jobs on that flight are most likely destined for Asia and Europe. New York will slowly collect Honolulu-bound layovers coming from the other direction. For example, I might send a plane from London to New York with a mix of bux jobs destined for Honolulu, LA, Chicago and Mexico City, and lay them all over in NY. Eventually, I'll have enough in New York to send an Aeroeagle directly to Honolulu (with LA as a waypoint).
    3. Hmm, not sure what you mean there. The only time that layovers should ever disappear is if they are returned back to their original source and unloaded, and you then exit the load screen. For example, let's say that Honolulu job is brought from LA to NY and laid over there. Sometime later you have a flight that brings it back to LA. When you unload, if you don't see the red "LAYOVER" icon, that means the job started here sometime previously. Pick it back up again to move it somewhere else. For this reason, even if I do the quick unload, I always scan the job list for any bux jobs not tagged as layovers before I exit that screen.

In summary, I think the basic plan for maximizing bux jobs is to always pick them up, no matter what the destination. If you are moving it in the wrong direction, it doesn't matter: once you save it as a layover somewhere else, it will sit there until you get a chance to bring it back.

Just had to close Oulu today, because none of my smaller planes were reaching Cape Town, or Durban. So I have opened up Lobito. I will reinstate Oulu, and open Copenhagen the next time I level up.

I have two quick questions about global events for everyone.

Does your global job counter count all your jobs? Do you leave pocket planes open the whole time your planes are flying to Hammerfest or do you exit out and open PP once your planes lands?

My global job counter only recognizes jobs when I leave pocket planes open during the whole flight. If I close PP(just go to my home screen or another app) or lock my phone during the flight, the counter will not count the jobs...

I close PP when I'm done flinging my planes. I haven't really kept count of how many jobs I sent to Hammerfest, but I do see my job count rising. I don't know if it is accurate or whether some jobs are lost.

Does MC Hammer Concert cross your mind when you think Hammerfest? :D

Yeah, sometimes I could use an "are you sure?" prompt. LOL

I would love to redirect a flight. There are times when my finger doesn't make direct contact with a city and then I hit "fly" before I realize that final destination didn't register in its flight path. Or times when an airport closes and I want to make adjustments while the plane is in flight.

Sounds a bit like that time when someone came out of nowhere to bump North out of 1st place at the end of an event. :(

I'm slowly catching up with you, using half the number of planes you're using for the event. I reduced my fleet after Bordeaux, and even have empty slots now. Cutting back a bit, don't really have that much time to babysit this game. I finally got rid of all the Perth layovers and closed the airport. I usually just kill all the old event layovers, but decided to deliver the higher coin value jobs.

I love the Hammerfest cargo ... those cakes & flowers are so pretty. :)

You can catch and pass me, I shut it down this morning. I'm so bored I erased all my achievements and I'm completing them all again. About half of them immediately requalify after your first flight, but I'm running my 6 "100" city again right now. I probably would have run the 44 local events again if I could.
