I was just wondering if what happened to me earlier, aka been able to add 31 new airports in one go, or anything similar happened to anyone else.
You are at lvl 30, and has 65 airports (if I counted correctly). You have 26 planes on the go so I assume you have at least 26 plane slots. How did you earn so many coins to do all these?? Anyway, PP should give you a max number of airports award LOL I must be doing some very inefficient things I'm level 34 with 22 plane slots and 10 airports. I spent a lonely day on the leaderboard looking at only numbers surrounding me. Now at #64 with 168 jobs
I have paid for most these through the in game store, but it totally shocked me this morning when I found they had gifted me 31 new airports for reaching level 30 I guess.
Great pics Vicsark ! How long will it take you to earn the 25m to buy the 52m plane slot? Edit: [joking] jamesfish gave me an idea of what you can spend your current 27m on ... maxing out the airport slots that you're given I need an auto load mini program that can automatically load new jobs (specify city or bux job) onto planes so that I don't have to keep cycling through the planes every time there's a job refresh. And while we're at that, how about a FULL status (rather than boarding) to indicate plane is full, ready for takeoff?
PP gifted you? You didn't have to buy those new 31 airports? Since the update, the PP rule is that every level now entitles you to buy 2 airports + maybe the three that you have in the beginning. Or something like that.
Yes I had to buy them of course, they just seemed to give me 31 new airports of my choice, but maybe they have been waiting there since the update I hadn't checked since that has been released.
I hate to rain on your parade, but nimblebit increased everyone's max airports when they released the last update. So we all can get twice as many as before the update.
So I just got 30 new airports in the update, and it seems like everyone else got airports too. Go on say it, aren't Nimblebit just the BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still haven't traded in any bux and I've stopped buying/upgrading planes, so I'm now at about 39,400... Each additional bux I collect is worth 20,197 coins. If I turned them all in, I would get about 795,000,000 coins. So that gives me a new target: I want a billion coins. You need 44,225 bux to get 1,000,037,812 coins. I'm less than 5000 bux away from that total, so it's certainly within reach in the next week or so. I have a business trip next week, which means lots of Pocket Planes time (ironically enough) while I'm flying. Once you get up this high, the game objectives change a lot. I'll keep my planes parked and only load new bux jobs at each refresh. Even if I have a plane almost full and a new bux job comes up for a city in the other direction, I'll still grab it for a layover. I'll send empty planes with a 1 bux boost to catch new bux jobs in cities where I don't have a plane available. I rarely get the 25% bonus any more, and usually fly at a loss, but if I'm delivering 20 or 30 bux, my potential reward is much, much greater.
Is it still a problem? I noticed a huge lag in job count updates during the Bordeaux event, it'd sit at the same numbers for HOURS even though I was still delivering jobs during that time. I find myself disinterested in the current global event. Not having time to play may have something to do with it. I've put more than half my Kangaroos back into the hangar since Bordeaux ended and am using a much smaller set of Roos to shuttle Perth jobs.
Yes ma'am I just finished writing an email to the support team. I sent way more than enough jobs yesterday and only got credited for 41. It updates but so inconsistently and the numbers are so random, it's hard for me to figure out what the problem is... I'm a really good logician and can handle pretty tough problems but this has me perplexed for now xD Anyways I hoping nimblebit has some cure and soon, but for now I'm done playing and hope you guys don't have my troubles next! Good luck
LOL what are you going to do with 1 billion coins? However, you certainly have given me food for thought regarding strategy. I'm still slavishly working at the 25% bonus. The idea of boosting 1 bux is still rather "foreign" (still stingy with bux) but it makes a lot sense to spend 1 bux to say catch a >3 bux job. At what level though, (bux and coins wise, and maybe plane slots) does one feel comfortable to switch strategy to chase bux rather than chase 25% bonus. Would you mind giving an idea of how many planes do you have flying around and how many planes sitting collecting bux jobs?
nice i encountered this issue too, when I got above 10k Bux and targeted 20k. I always tried to get the 25% bonus before, but past this point it did not make sense, as Bux jobs would in the end be worth way way more coins. But it's hard to just gather random Bux jobs instead of flying full bonus planes, it just doesn't "feel" neat if you know what I mean. Even if it's not rational. So I've tried using clusters to remedy that (ie, a plane loaded in London with LA jobs loads the Bux jobs, drop'em off in Paris, and then fly with the 25% bonus to LA) Or having smaller planes devoted to gather Bux only. But in the end, I should have just not cared, because the Bux exchange is so huge that coins you get through sending planes doesn't even matter. My next plane slot is 52m coins, I'm not sure I made that much since the beginning from flying planes lol. So what you gonna do with your Billion coins? Get to 50 plane slots? It's more a pain in the a.s than a reward lol I think around lvl 30. You'll know when, it's when your coins and Bux just don't seem to stop going up, because there's not much to do with it any more (you don't need more money for airports or upgrade, nor plane slots, and have a decent fleet of class 3 planes)
You know, I always wondered how you guys earn so many bux. I mean come on, I'm level 41 and can barely scrape up 100 bux..... then, an epiphany: I was running just 4 airports, Lima, Lagos, Mumbai, and Tokyo. After the Ottawa event (which I completely restructured my setup for), I decided to run 2 across the world lines, one north and one south. In 2 days, I have almost 2k bux and that is not even running bux only, just picking them up as I see them........ So, if you go back reading crap from me about the 1 straight line across the world route..... don't do it. Make TWO, one from say Honolulu, Mexico City, Chicago, London, Delhi, Tokyo and the other Honolulu, Mexico City, Lima, Kinshasha, Jakarta, Tokyo. I over doubled my number of airports, yet increased my bux income by countless times! Ok, done ranting, back to raking in the bux.......
I certainly don't want to spend the billion coins; it would simply be to maximize my airline value. Right now I'm at level 45, with 26 planes (4 Cyclone-Ms, 6 Sequoia-Ms and 15 Aeroeagle-Ms, and 1 Kangaroo-M for class 1 events) and 17 cities (Honolulu, Los Angeles, Chicago, New York, Mexico City, Lima, Buenos Aires, Rio de Janerio, Lagos, London, Moscow, Tehran, Mumbai, Jakarta, Beijing, Tokyo, and Sydney). I got to this point mostly from evolution, not a conscious plan. For example, when I was first able to make New York to London with an upgraded Pearjet, I used Honolulu-Los Angeles-New York-London-Moscow as a pretty good straight-line run. Similarly, Buenos Aires-Lagos-Tehran is a straight line and London-Mumbai-Jakarta-Sydney is nice and straight. I liked this "mesh" of intersecting straight lines, so I could route planes pretty much wherever they're needed, rather than fixed routes. When I got to the later levels, I just kept what I had from before. My relative lack of large planes may seem odd to most of you, but it works for my style. With up to 60 layovers available, I had no problem filling an Aeroeagle to go somewhere with the 25% bonus (until I started obsessing over even 1 bux jobs). But with these 26 planes, if I am working on a local or global event, they often start to land before I can get them all in the air, so I see little benefit in adding any more plane slots.
It's oddly lonely in the top 10... 1. 2169 2. 1220 3. 1197 4. 1175 5. 1078 6. 1070 7. 951 (me) 8. 892 9. 874 10. 829 (JH3210) I wonder if a lot of players are experiencing problems with event jobs registering, or have given up for other reasons? Busy day tomorrow, so I don't expect to maintain a top 10 spot. Maybe I'll close Perth and switch over to Jonesy's bux strategy. I have a mere 3300 bux right now!
Hi coastcat, I've been running two mohawks from Jakarta to Perth, so my count is very slow. I think I'll leave them to run until event ends. I woke up and rushed to read Andrwsc's and Jonesy's and Vic Sark's posts about raking in the bux. I need to get my iPad to see their routes. Strategy is the most interesting aspect of PP, configuring the routes/plane types. With each global event, I need to think a bit to work out a new configuration (sometimes a few tries before I find something that works). I suppose it is analogous to say Bakery Story where you arrange the tables and chairs and decorate the restaurant. But I'm a 90% functional <10% aesthetic person so arranging furniture decoratively doesn't appeal to me, whereas configuring PP routes are right up my alley. And being able to deliver the jobs yourself is miles better than having to pester someone to send some parts to you in order to complete a quest. Edit: Restrategizing my planes is going to take some time and I have an urgent deadline this week, so PP is kind of stumped for now. My current strategy works only if I have time to kind of babysit it. The only thing I did today was to send my mohawks to Perth LOL Now if only PP will enable messaging between GC friends. But ... that's why we have this forum
I just had to register to say how annoying the flight crew job counter bug is! I've done way more than the 43 the flight crew screen is telling me. At least 2 days have passed since that updated. My Kangaroos and Blimp are working in vein
I swear this game hates me... Trying to load my Sequioa with 25% jobs to Jakarta. Got 9/10 passengers on board but had to wait two refreshes. By the time I get the 10th passenger, New York is closed due to a snowstorm for an hour. Why must you hate me PP?
