I think the last two digits are for the bug fix to the update that they just released Version numbering conventions are complicated and they probably vary from company to company. I don't even REALLY understand them, and I work in the CS field In other news, I just hit level 20. Do you guys think I should jump on Fogbusters right away, or does it make sense to wait for the bigger and better class 2 planes? I figure my leveling is going to slow way down from now on. Also, I've been kind of sucked in by Tiny tower and drawn away from Pocket Planes. I'm still on it, just not as obsessively as before. Still doing the events tho
I posted it a few (alot) pages back. Ghost passengers are Bitzens that have no name, destination, or profit and will just take up space on a plane. You cannot unload them, only load more. But anyways, they've made me retire two of my Aeroeagles and have taken over my Sequoia... TWICE.
After the update, it re-did all my achievements and a few of them were Achievement (null). This might be the same place where ghost passengers come from (they are null passengers). I would have thought they fixed these things with the immediately following update, no?
Both 1.0.5 and 1.0.5.0.1 (!) are very disappointing. About the only thing fixed seems to be the achievements. I still get regular crashes as before, maybe a half dozen times a day. Even when it doesn't crash, the frequent freezing for several seconds while the game is "thinking" is inexcusable for a game like this, which frankly, shouldn't be very computationally intensive. Nimblebit drew me into their world with the addictive gameplay and humorous style of Tiny Tower, but they're driving me away with the frustrating bugs plaguing Pocket Planes.
Yeah, I know, but these could have been 1.5 and 1.5.1. Why they think they need five levels of revision numbering is unusual.
Fogbusters are okay - fast but consequently expensive to run. You could build one for long-distance runs and use it to work up to level 22. Sequoias! I'll probably reset my TinyTower (again) and play it again, unless there's a good chance that NimbleBit will release new floors and achievements in the near future. You know you're a TT addict when you have an Excel workbook (with multiple worksheets) dedicated to the game. Mine has conditional formatting so it automatically color-codes which businesses and apartment floors have openings. I am a geek. So anyone else running PP on the Mac and crashing regularly? I'm not impressed by this release. (oops, just switched back to PP to check my planes and it crashed AGAIN)
Since it is about to be Halloween, someone needs to write a story about the ghost passengers. I had one that finally went away when I landed at a particular airport. Maybe she died on the fight and just wanted to get home to say good bye to her family.
I've been playing for quite awhile now(only level 35-38 I can't temember and dont wanna go look lol) 2 or 3 months I guess and haven't seen a ghost passenger yet. Maybe I'm just lucky:/
PP crashed several times a day (esp when I was babysitting the roos to Ottawa) before the update. I just opened it and continue playing. I only updated last night after the new update to fix the load/unload bugs then went to sleep, so didn't play much since. Probably had more crashes (some were timed with the achievement pop-ups). Grats Varza. I sent you a sequoia. It is a must-have from the advice I've been given. Practically everyone here has a fleet of sequoias. Today's a very full day so no time for PP. Otherwise I'll try to see if I can find more at the market. "bigger and better class 2 planes" You should be able to buy all class 2 planes before lvl 20. Unless you are talking about class 3 planes? LOL I used to farm bux by using bux to buy residents and temporarily put them into their dream jobs to earn that 3 (or is it 2?) bux, and then kick them out. I didn't color code the floors, but I did arrange them according the type of business. Each job had a fixed uniform (spent bux unlocking those costumes, but they were fun). I renamed each business' floor to the floor the employees stay on, so that i could quickly find them if they were not at work in the "find me" mini game. I haven't seen ghost passengers either.
I dont know how to write this with my bad english skills. Hope you guys and girls understand. After i found out about that i had the wrong date on my ipad and the events lasts for so long (3,5 days instead of 12 hours on my ipad) its getting boring. Dont get me wrong. I still love the game, but i want more out of it. I think they should make it more challenging 1) Have jobs to an event sent from one specific city to the event city. ex: Jobs from Jakarta to Bergen (Where i live) 2) Have jobs from a couple different places around the world sent to one city. ex: Jobs from LA, NY and London to Mumbai. You have to get one part or passenger from those three cities to get one job done in Mumbai. 3) Change the jobcount to make it more challenging ex: People on level 30 should do more jobs then someone on level 10. Like they did with the airports in the new update. 4) Have several short events that lasts from 6 to 24 hours This is what i had on my mind right now.
hey, I'm no native speaker too 1) good idea! but how would layovers to Bergen in Jakarta work? Or it would be only the jobs originating in Jakarta I guess. 2) too complicated 3) I agree but not sure they could do that. And that's why there's a minimum that's not too high and challenging enough for low lvl players. We don't really have to do 5000 jobs for TA to win so... Their problem is more with TA untouchable in the first place 4) not gonna happen, they have players around the world so 24h is a minimum (time zones) and I think the 2 global events a week are enough. You got the local events for short events @Nimbletim: An idea submitted in this thread would really enhance the global events with the treasure hunt aspect: Always have mystery parts, not always for rare plane but also for random (or predefined) regular planes.
1) With class 3 planes we could use London or Paris as layover cities and send class 1 planes to Bergen. 2) Maybe, but it's just an idea. 3) We don't have to, but we want to "fight" for top positions so i think thats why we are untouchable. Last time i checked the rank we had 9 times more jobs then crew number two. That could also be the reason we don't get full plane prizes. The first hit typing "flight crew pocket planes" in Google TA came up. 4) I agree with a minimum 24 hour events. Should they have a maximum number of players in a crew?
TA use to have only 5x the number of crew two so the gap is slowly increasing. I would assume that is due to people leaving their crew and coming to TA but then what is the point if you are in a top 10 crew you get pretty much the same prize as the winner. As for limiting crew size I think it is too late for that. Could you imagine the backlash? How would they do it? They would have to wipe all the crews out and let them start over with a size limit. Imagine some low level guy getting first crack at creating toucharcade and you join only to find Bluebear, Faye, Kit, etc are not in the crew? I am sure it would make for more competition but it would sure upset the apple cart.
