This. I was coming here to post this. Been playing it and kept getting frustrated but this helps a lot to load and unload.
The new PP update sounds horrible, I will hold off on upgrading, maybe there will be a fix for it soon? Anyhow, I don't know how much I'll be able to work on the Bordeaux event, I'm experiencing some wifi connectivity problems. The 3 curved bars at the top indicate that wifi is OK, but when I go into wifi settings I see the spinning circles trying to connect to the wifi router, but never connecting. It's not the wireless router cuz 3 other devices can connect OK. Have tried: turning on/off router; turning on/off wifi; forgetting network; soft reset; hard reset; reset network settings; reset all settings. I'm out of ideas at this point.
Quick question about global event prizes: Say I do 50 jobs to qualify for the prize and stop. Does it mean I will get 10bux for the "under 100" category? I assume the "under 100" means for the 100+ people, since there's a "top 100" ? cos the normal meaning of "under 100" means less than 100, (i.e. 1-99).
Winner, top 10, top 100 & 'under 100' are for flight crews, not for individual players. If Toucharcade wins this event, every member who did 50 jobs (or more) gets the top prize (40 bux).
You maybe have to "forget" the autoconnect on your wifi network in wifi settings. Reboot the iPhone and router, and choose it again, you'll have to retype the wifi access code.
OH !!! So we actually don't have to fight so hard to get into top 10 So it makes sense to do 50 jobs and then leech on the kindness of MrEfficientNorth and Teodor2004 and you and faye, coastcat etc. (and whoever's leading at 1898 at #1. North's 20 kangeroos are sleeping I think ) OK, for 40 bux I'll think abt doing bordeaux.
im also getting the same problems when loading individual jobs, wishing i hadnt updates PP now... ah well maybe a day or 2 off the game will renew my engery for it
Nb of airports Am I the only one who got a major increase in the nb of available airports? Seems to have jumped from 27 to 49 with the upgrade. Not complaining, but makes the game much easier for the short routes.
Faye did you change anything before your iPhone started having connectivity problems? Yes they increased everyone's airports from level+5 to (2*level)+5
Been playing about a week, and only Level 18, but I was wondering why all my VIPs and Cargo Bux have dropped to 1 or 2. For last few days they were almost all 3s and 4s. Is this random bad luck, or did I do something wrong that causes me to get only the smaller Bux jobs? The only thing I can think of that I have changed is that I closed my London AP and Hawaii until I get to Level 20 and get some longer route planes for the NY to London trip. Only have a single upgraded Aero that could make the trip. Now focusing on a North to South route in North/South America till I have more Bux. Are the BUX values of VIPs related to how many continents I serve?
When does Mac version of Pocket Planes come out? Is it today? LOL yes all you need to do is 50. I'm experiencing wifi problems at home so prolly won't make Top 10 this round. Hopefully all the jobs I've "banked" in the past makes it ok to freeload this time. Right now I'm having coffee at Starbucks (free wifi), getting Game Center to sync up my PP progress and trying to fling a few Kangaroos toward Boardeaux. Don't think many are doing the Bordeaux event, leaderboard shows I'm ranked #16. Not bad for minimal effort. But it is a little lonely here, no familiar names nearby. Yep, I tried all these things last night. It's just not playing nice with the wifi router at home, while 3 other devices connect ok to the router. On the other hand, I'm able to connect to wifi at the coffee shop; I came here expecting it not to work. But it does work here, so I don't know what the problem is.
Thanks, that crossed my mind but I keep forgetting about differences in straight line distance and how long the flight path is. New York to Rio seems far, but i forget part of the distance is that i have to travel through Mexico City or Lima.
It is currently in the Mac App store. But it requires OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion. My iMac is managed by work and they have not opted to upgrade yet, so I am still stuck down on Lion. Boo!
