I have a similar experience. On my iPod (level 45), I am only playing for events now. No more expansion is wanted, or necessary. But the game on my daughter's iPod is at level 21, so I enjoy playing it there!
My Aeros would fly out of Riyadh with zero to 6 jobs. So yes, sometimes I take a loss. A big plane would pickup Riyadh jobs from Tokyo and drop them off in Tehran. My Aero flying out of Riyadh would pickup Tokyo jobs and drop them off in Tehran. I have so many planes that they are rarely all up in the air at the same time. I work down the list loading what I can. The jobs will have refreshed by the time I reach the bottom, then I start over from the top, load whatever more I can and send the plane on its way (out of Riyadh) regardless of how full it is. I only load for the 25% bonus when my planes are in any of the other non-event cites. I'm not the most efficient player, I just do whatever fits my schedule.
About the event flight crew ranking a few pages back: I'm doing my best, but there's no way I can take it on with you huge peoples I barely got 500 jobs for the last event and I don't know if I can even hit 200 for this one (Bangalore is really stretching it for me). I would also like to see more planes as event prizes. For a noob like me, bux are fine too, but the novelty will wear out pretty fast if that's all I ever get. Well that's my input for the week. If they are serious about Santa's sleigh being a new plane, I think we will not see an upgrade before mid december Edit: Stupid me! Of course there will be an earlier upgrade. They only designed Santa's supersonic sleigh for the next full plane event ... which will take place in the week of december 25th. Can't wait!

what would be cool is if they added a Lockheed Constellation as a special event plane like the Concorde the only rare aircraft i've gotten yet is the sea knight since i'm only level 10...
Varza: I'm adding you in GC (I ur GC name is Varza). I hope I'll have the chance to see you sometime in the flight crew leaderboard. There are some people like Slightly/Supremely/Extremely North, Faye, PondusFM, Visarc, Nokitano (only met once) that I won't be meeting (at least not in the near future) as I don't end anywhere near top 10. So I am hi-ing all at the forum here Babysitting PP most of the day and I'm only at #24 with 526 jobs. Edit: Is the developer of Pocket Planes reading this forum? If so 1) Is it possible to have a "unload all" button? I'm using a "feeding neighboring city" strategy that requires a lot of loading/unloading so it'll be great if I could unload all at once. 2) I would like to lobby for say 20 nameslots on the flight crew leaderboard. Higher chances of seeing friendly faces amidst the small sea of numbers. Kudos: PP is very fun and addicting. It requires far more planning (and thus consumes far more hours than I should spend) than Tiny Towers (which was already quite fun).
You can already do that Tapping and holding an unload button on the Jobs screen auto-unloads the plane. Tapping and holding a load button auto-loads all jobs to the same destination.
This is how i did it in the Riyadh event. I sent a plane from wherever to Riyadh A made it take a uturn straight back to wherever. I only had a profit between 500 and 3000 on each trip.

Right now I'm at #23, 3 spots behind you. Haven't really worked out the right strategy that doesn't also drain my cash reserves (Cyclones don't make sense for short runs, not even when full), and I don't have a ton of free time today for babysitting smaller planes. I might leave the Cyclones idle and deploy a bunch of Kangaroos tonight when I do have time. Er, or I could have a life. Nah...
You are all on notice for this one. If you want to win 1st place for Bangalore you are going to have to be ready to send 10,000+ jobs. Because that is what I am going to do. (speaking of not having a life...)
Although I am totally enjoying this game, I would not mind an easier way to get bux to keep my company running.

And I believe you will make it over 10k jobs! I see you up there at the top with 6700 jobs ... I've noticed a trend in these past events. I tend to sprint up to the Top 50, and then I lose interest and stop playing much. I need help in the motivation dept. Think we're due for a full plane/mystery part event ... I dunno why that screen shot made me think of an old arcade game called Tempest. You kids are prolly too young to remember that one...
