Quick question for all of you. How many bux have you cashed in all at once? I'm saving up to cash in 15K. I think that will get me all the slots I'll ever need.

I feel like I'm still learning how to play this game.

So... I built my very first Cloudliner and my very first Mohawk around the time when the Easter Island event started.

I avoided the Mohawk in the early levels due to the P/C imbalance in the M flavor. I'm actually warming up to the Mohawk after playing with them these past 2 days, I just needed to buy the P/C variety to make it work. I now think those Mohawks are keepers and wish I had figured this out earlier in the game.

Anyhow, and being prolix by nature and finally getting to my real question here ;) .... is it possible to get the Cloudliners to work without the use of a feeder system? My one and only Cloudliner sits at one end of the world waiting _many_ job refreshes to fill up for the city on the other end of the world (LA or Tokyo). It could be hours before I am able to send it off again. Is there a trick to filling up the plane faster without the use of feeders? I moved away from the feeder model a long time ago, and mainly do it for the events.

    I have another question :)

I noticed something about how much my Cloudliner earns depending on how it reaches its final destination.
If I take Tokyo jobs from LA and go directly to Tokyo, I may earn around 20k (arbitrary ballpark number).
Then I noticed if I took those Tokyo jobs from LA and go to a waypoint just before Tokyo, such as Seoul, make a landing (but don't unload), and then send the plane off again to Tokyo, I will make MORE coins, like over 30k (another arbitrary ballpark number).
Has the game always worked this way? And why does it do this???
I've been playing this game all wrong all these months!!!

Wow, I can only imagine what the job list looks like in each city. How do you decide where to go? So many interesting places to visit. Do you go broke upgrading each airport?

I still have to do Nome-Wellington and sorta dread buying all those class 1 airports along the way.

LOLOLOLOL that's the funniest thing I've read today :D

I lose track too. Wouldn't it be nice if there was some sort of checkbox next to each part so you can go down the list and mark all the ones you want to send, and then send them to someone in one swell foop? I hate having to go back in after sending and scroll down to find my place again.

    You're welcome!

Oh I figured out the C130 Hercules. Hope this one comes up soon!
So the only rare planes that have not been release yet are the C130, Concorde and Hot Air Balloon?

    Edited to add:

I've been wondering that too. I've never converted Bux to coins. Had saved up over 14k Bux but then spent 2k over the past couple of weeks and am now down to 12k. It's my understanding that you gain more coins by cashing in more Bux at a time, so better to convert 15k once, rather than 5k at 3 different times. How many coins would 15k Bux get you?

If you're running an event to a Class 1 city and intend to babysit the game to maximize deliveries, the speed of the Mohawks over the Kangaroos may compensate for the reduced capacity. And then there are those jumps beyond the range of even a fully-upgraded Kangaroo (like, say, Easter Island - Lima). I have 6 P and 6 C, plus 2 Ms I can't quite bring myself to scrap even though I dislike using them because of the 2-1 split.

Your profit is delivery fees minus flight cost.

For a Cloudliner with no weight reduction, the cost to fly LA - NY - Paris - Tehran - Tokyo is 26784 coins (according to The Rusty Snowman's handy tools). It sounds like you're flying to Seoul and stopping there, then continuing to Tokyo. The cost to fly Seoul - Tokyo is 1329 coins.

Just to make the math simple... 17 jobs x 2488 coins per job = 42296 gross earnings from the loaded Cloudliner.

    For the LA - Tokyo flight, 42296 - 26784 = 15512 final profit

However, you stopped in Seoul. When you fly Seoul to Tokyo, that's a brand new flight with the same valuable deliveries on board.

    Seoul - Tokyo, 42296 - 1329 = 40967

And that's how you get a seriously high single-flight profit.

My understanding is that each person and cargo only pay off only when they arrive to their stated destination. Added to that is each plane must "pay" a set amount of gold coin to travel from one city to another. Ultimately the coin a flight makes (or loses, I'm looking at you Starship). Is based on how much the payoff is minus the cost.

So flying a plane full of Tokyo jobs from LA to Tokyo might be $35,000 in job payoffs, but $15,000 in flying costs. Thus $20,000 profit. But if you fly LA to Seoul and stop, you get $0 in payoff but $14,000 in costs. The Seoul to Tokyo flight would then get you the $35,000 payoff but now the cost is only $1,000 and a profit of $34,000. But when you add both flights together you still only net $20,000.

Again, that's my understanding of it.

    Edit: aaaaaaaaaand I'm late

Hey guys! Figured that I've been lurking long enough and that I'd finally jump in and chit chat.

I joined in this global event (very first one) basically 24 hours after started (had to save up some coins to buy Lima and Monterrey to connect me from my North American operation. I've basically only been playing for a week or two. Level 17 now and feel good about bouncing around in the mid 20's for event rank in the flight crew.

I've been a big Mohawk fan since I unlocked them. They have proven to be amazing workhorses this event. I've been feeding p/c to Lima with pearjets. Are the aeroeagles worth it compared to the pears? I've had access but haven't put any into service thinking the cost to operate would be worse than the already fuel hungry pearjets.

    Welcome!

    Aeroeagles: your new best friend.

Okay, that may be hyperbole, but they're great Class 2 planes which you'll continue to appreciate as you progress.

The London - Kinshasa flight is near the max range for both the Aero and Pearjet (without fuel upgrades). Each job earns you 663 coins (job payment is based on straight-line distance between the cities).

    • Aeroeagle: 6 capacity, 25 minutes @ 220mph, 1582 flight cost. 663 * 6 = 3978 coins - 1582 costs = 2396 profit
    • Pearjet: 5 capacity, 20 minutes @ 272mph, 1630 cost (it's a faster plane, and thus costs more to run). 663 * 5 = 3315 - 1630 flight cost = 1685 profit

Another advantage is that Aero Ms are evenly split between passengers and cargo. The Pearjet is not, which can create an imbalance when you're shuttling in jobs to a transfer point for an event in a Class 1 city.

I scrapped my Pearjets but continue to use the Aeros regularly. For the Easter Island event, for example, I have Aero Ms running from Sao Paulo and Rio to Lima plus some bigger planes on longer routes just for the sake of variety.

Has anyone else had trouble with achievements not unlocking? I have made several hundred flights over the Atlantic and still don't have the Transatlantic achievement, and I sent my blimp on a 400,000 mile trip, but the Apollo 11 didn't fire.

Thanks for the info. I'll start building some aeros then!

Anyone got a spare Aero M engine? I've been looking for one in the market for the last couple days and haven't seen any.

    Thanks in advance

I think when we reach level 25+ bux are easy to come by... My last day was making around 200-250 bux a day... :)

Btw thanks for the navigator p part you sent me... Not sure what for though... Do you need something in return? Though I don't have to offer :)

the exchange rate is pretty easy to figure if you look at it :
First Bux is worth 500 coins
Every time you add 2 Bux, the exchage rate goes up 1 coin FOR ALL THE BUX EXCHANGED!
    So 1000 Bux are exchanged at a rate of 500+(1000/2) = 1000 . Nets you 1million coins
    2000 Bux : 500 + (2000/2)= 1500 times 2000 Bux = 3m coins
    5000 bux nets 15m coins
    10000 Bux nets 55m coins
    15000 Bux nets 120m coins
    20000 Bux nets 210m coins
    50000 Bux nets 1billion 275m coins
The real question is WHat the hell for!
Cause past 25 plane slots, it gets tedious and airports are a fixed cost.

@Hichrich : Bux come faster once you got a LA TOkyo route (9bux each) and a few sequoias, but it's better to focus on bux jobs

I was trying to send you parts for a blimp but then forgot which I had sent by the 3rd one because I'm a dork. Which is the part that I didn't send? I think it is controls, but I want to make sure. Urg, I need coffee.

I know I'll probably get some backlash for this, but could anybody send me some class 2 or 3 parts? I've got the first tier of C2 but can't get across the Atlantic. PM me if you can :)

Woah. They totally adjusted the ending time for this event. 56 minutes left all of a sudden.

Maybe to make up for the late start? Dunno, I just noticed that too.

Someone was saying the next event will be for a full rare plane? Is that for sure?

I hope so, but nothing is for sure until the next event starts.

Guess I will start closing down my Easter Island operations. I'm pretty safely in 11th place, but a long way from 10th.
