For those of you who have traded in lots of bux for millions of coins, did that increase your airline value by a significant amount? I have more than 20,000 bux, but I have all the planes I want so I just keep collecting bux... However, if my airline value increases by 210,000,000 that would be a good reason to exchange the bux, I think.
Or just keep saving bux, it will go up by 230.. by 250.. by 300.. Where to stop? And yes it should increase your airline value, since it's the sum of planes+airports+cash-in-hand
I'm in 123 place for this event. It's my highest placing so far. And I've only sent about 190 jobs. Doing Paris and Seoul has been great for getting back up to the mid 20s in level.
mostly the usual routes, as Paris/London is my main hub. Detail of the routes and planes in a post above. The strategic way (first 3 days, about 3300 jobs)) : The big difference was to fill planes from outer rims with center of the map jobs (Paris first, then NY, Lagos, london, Istanbul) as opposed to the longest routes possible. NY getting Paris layovers from NA Lagos from SA Istanbul from EA London getting NA/SA layovers from Paris (back trip)... And I put an aeroeagle M and a Sea Knight to do back and forth London/Paris and another SK doing the same with Istanbul/Paris. The tricky part was to control the layover total in the center hubs around Paris, with sometimes the total going up to 70/80. And to send back the planes from Paris to these hubs with jobs to the outer parts, trying to gather the 25% bonus The brutal way in the last hours (last 600 jobs) was to just send filled planes with Paris jobs plus whatever jobs directly to Paris from everywhere! And clear the mess the day after lol
Well from Saturday through Wednesday I will be lucky to do two job runs on PP a day (down from 4 comfortably), and that's basing it on waking up early enough to get one in when I wake up and staying awake long enough to get one in when I go to sleep. The real bummer however is I'm not going to have an internet connection on my phone for 90% of the time, regardless of if I'm on PP or not, so I'm not going to be able to register any event deliveries. So after hanging in at #43 I'm going to drop (I reckon) to somewhere around #1000 maybe #800 depending on how many people put some effort into this. Not that that matters much in a bux-only event but I was enjoying being higher up, it's been a while. I know you might all hate me for this, put please for the love of God let the next event be a bux only reward! If it's a full plane (especially one I haven't got, and especially especially a Hercules or Concorde) I might rage quit from PP forever. OT: Anyone else work with an IT system that forces you to change your password every 3 months and never allows you to have the same password twice? 3 years now and as soon as I've learnt my new password I have to come up with another. Drives me mad, I just want to slap the sysadmin round the face..
I've worked with those on more than one occasion. It's even more fun when it's a group login and we all have to learn the new password every 90 days. 136 jobs for Seoul, and I closed the airport to avert my usual "nooooo, I have to finish in the top 100, where are my Cyclones?" impulses.
I've shelved my Cloudliners too. They were too fast and I couldn't fill them up fast. Hmmmm. Please do correct my interpretation of your set-up if i get it wrong . You bring Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo jobs to London from NY, Chicago & LA. From London several planes bring it to Istanbul. When in Istanbul they are picked up to be delivered to Shanghai, Seoul & Tokyo. Layover system still confuses me
Now is not the time to rest. You need to maintain your position in the top 3 No wonder my airline value is low lol. I'm always low on cash
Barely keeping my place in the Top 10, 1600 jobs. I've been devoting most of my time toward Mafia Wars (which can easily take 24/7 LOL). I'd prolly make more progress if I weren't picking up Seoul jobs from Los Angeles, it takes a while to cross the map! #1 has delivered over 3700 jobs.
Is there Mafia Wars in IOS or are you playing in Facebook. I traded a lot of collectibles during my lengthy MW stint. Seoul is one of my Asia cities. I'm just doing my regular route. 182 jobs and currently 263 in crew
Seoul is in my regular North America to Asia route and I'm primariy using the Pez Sequoia plan. It's working out nicely, I can check in as much or as little as I want. Making good money delivering jobs from the other side of the map. Mafia Wars is on Facebook. You may not recognize it if you haven't played in a long time, the game has changed so much over the past few years.
I might study Pez's Sequoia plan again. It might be what I need. Only flying my planes 3-4 times a day now. Last time I played they introduced a cars and the diamond collection. Hehehe. Now you're the one who mustn't rest Right now I've this events log of 45 different events I'm not inclined to do. What they should do is have an event log of how well you did on past global events.
The Pez Plan is a good read. I posted a few pages back with the link to it, and links to a few other posts here. http://forums.toucharcade.com/showpost.php?p=2420801&postcount=6750 It would be nice to have keep a log of past global events... I can't possibly remember after so many events, they sort of blur together. You know that popup that delivers your event prize? It tells you your ranking. I think it would be nice if it also told you final tally of jobs delivered.
It took me quite a bit o time to get this setup, I'm used to it now but it's not really simple to explain lol. Basically every group of cities is a hub, and each city specializes in a list of destinations. This way, I got a dozen cities with 60 potential layovers. The idea is that I may easily fill and send a plane to the next hub if it can't be filled with the 25%bonus. And allmost all jobs are delivered with the 25% bonus. Keep 'em flying Main Routes: - NA (LA, Chicago,NY) <>EA (Seoul,Shangai,Tokyo) goes through Europe (Paris, London,Istanbul) - SA (Lima,Sao Paulo,Rio)<>EA goes through Africa (Lagos,Kinshasa) and Mumbai Secondary routes: -Europe<>Africa -Europe<>SA -NA<>SA There is more than one hub per destination ie Seoul jobs from LA may be stored first in NY, then Paris, then Istanbul. Intermediate hubs are skipped if the plane can be filled with the 25% bonus (if I can fill a plane to Seoul from NY, I'll send it directly of course, but if there are not enough Seoul jobs, I'll fill the plane with Tokyo, Seoul and Shangai jobs in NY and send it to Istanbul) LA and Tokyo are the exception as they're at the end of the route. NA: LA feeds Chicago and NY. Chicago stores layovers from LA and NY to Africa and Mumbai NY stores layovers from Chicago and LA to Europe and EA SA Lima is the hub between SA and NA (NA feeds Lima with Rio and Sao Paulo jobs and They feed Lima with NA jobs) Rio stores EA and Africa jobs Sao Paulo stores Europe Europe London is a hub for NA and SA layovers Paris is a hub for Africa and EA and Istanbul layovers Istanbul is a hub for NA and EA layovers (for Cyclones) and for Paris and London Africa Lagos stores Europe and NA layovers Kinshasa stores SA,EA,Mumbai Mumbai Hub between Africa/SA and EA EA Tokyo feeds Shangai and Seoul Seoul stores NA and Europe jobs Shangai stores SA and Africa and Mumbai jobs It sounds way more complicated than it is lol
Thank you very much for sharing this! Great read. I'm still trying to digest it. It's complicated . Now I understand how you get sooo many bux. I used to have a simpler set-up with only 3 SA and 3 Asia cities. Having those 6 cities as hub cities like your set-up earned me a decent amount of bux daily but it took a lot of babysitting. I was sleepy but your post woke me up a bit lol. I'll bookmark it and read it slowly when I wake up. But seriously, wicked set-up Vicsark
Sadly I think it's time I exited this game and move on. Which saddens me. I'm sitting at level 30 and there is no real benefit to keep playing. There is just not enough to lure me back. I'd love to have better access to rare planes through tough jobs or quests, but it just not exciting the way it is structured right now. I'm goin to assume that I'm not the only one starting to feel that way. As more and more people hit higher and higher levels the allure to the game diminishes. When you level 10 your striving for another level to get new planes, but at level 30 there is nothing left to strive for. Anyways </rant> Hopefully there will be an update that lures me back in soon!
Yep it would really be nice if they had that log including the jobs you delivered for a global event. Consistent top 10 people can post screenshots here I totally forgot about that post of yours. I bookmarked it before. Lots of great reads a few hundreds of pages back. I've bookmarked posts by you, coastcat, itschriscollins, jdrawmer, mdaymond, meowr, pezmage, spidubic, vicsark..
Hope so too! Past level 30, the game effectively lacks from the rush of the 25 first levels. Nimblebit surely didn't really give a lot of thought to the end game after that, the beginning is way more balanced and polished. I acknowledge the difficulty of that, as the game in itself calls for an end, the map can't be extended! The only use of more Bux and coins is to get more planes, which isn't very useful once you have two dozens already. The sad thing is that everybody has a very different setup at the beginning but in the end, all finish with the same bunch of class 3 airports as there's no incentive to keep class 1 or 2, except for a few days for events. On the plus side, global events are fun, trading parts too, rare planes are a nice treasure hunt. but will events be enough to keep us playing? After all I invested more time in this game than 99% of my iPad or Xbox games so I could call it quits and finish Mass effect 3 I guess
