Just sent my blimp on a 112,000 mile flight in between LA and Chicago that will take about 3 days 21 hrs. If I sped it up it would be 939 bux.
I gave up on the Fogbuster, too. Like Faye, I'm using Aeros, Sequoias, and Cyclones, plus the Kangaroos (and sometimes Mohawks) for events in Class 1 cities. Sometimes I'll use the leisurely but economical Blimps. Currently #13 because I got distracted by a local event in Ketchikan. Since Seattle and Chicago are clogged up with layovers for that one, I'll send my Aeros back to the NY-Miami route.
45 Events PART 1 Hey guys, I've been lurking around as I work on my 45 events. I got to the point where I had amassed 10 million coins and 2000 bux, bought the cloudliners, sent the cloudliners to the hanger, converted everything to Sequoias and Aero's, had the SA - Asia route, had the NA - Asia route, then had both. Completed my 36 achievements (except for trans-Atlantic flight of course) and I've pushed hard for some of the global events (a couple of top 20's). So I decided to keep things fresh by completing the 45 local events and get my check marks. I have 37 finished and I knocking off the last 7/8 as they show up (more on that in a sec). I thought I'd lay out what I've been doing to help anyone who has considered this or is trying to accomplish it. Only attempt this style of play when you have plenty of coins and bux. Since these events only pop-up for 12 or 24 hours, it's all about setting up your routes quickly and sometimes coins and bux are going to be spent. So here is an example, there is a Mass Wedding in Las Vegas and a Music Festival in Cordoba. I open both cities and buy advertising. I then find the closest Level 3 city to each destination city. Los Angeles for Vegas and Buenos Aires for Cordoba. Then if I can't fly a Sequoia between those two Level 3 cities I'll buy the Level 3 city(s) in-between like Lima. So that's my route, now I send half my Kangaroo M's to each Level 3 feeder cities and I start filling up my and sending my Sequoia M's with Las Vegas and Cordoba jobs to this route. Sometimes your planes are already in the area, but usually I'm buying Level 1 cities (Nome to Wellington style) to get my Kangaroos a route to these feeder cities. I will then start the flight with no passengers or cargo and then spend 1 bux (sometimes 2 or 3) and send the planes FTL style. This gets the planes there quickly but spends coin with no return and spends a few bux. I then work this route during the day filling up Sequoia and sending them back and forth with my Kangaroos going back and forth to the event cities. A little trick if youre waiting for jobs to refresh: find a small city anywhere and buy it, some of the northern Canada and Russia cities cost just over 1000 coins. This will refresh all jobs and after you close the city you get back half of the purchase price anyway, so youre spending roughly 500-600 for a job refresh when if you used bux it would cost you 6-8 bux (3000-4000 coins).
45 Events cont. PART 2 (Sorry so long) The first time I got close to 1000 I sent a couple of flights to the host city and acclomplished the event, but it also started a new event log. So I had the check and 1000/1000 showing and a duplicate event showing 4/1000 on my screen. I now make sure I hit 1000 exactly. So here is my issue. I have completed 37 events, Im working on 7 other events and I have this one duplicate of an event I already finished. But the heading on my event page says 45/45 events. I know its counting the duplicate event Im working on, but I cant figure out which event I havent started yet. I went to a Planes Wiki page that lists the 45 events, but they list 47 events with three that were global events and havent shown up separately in the local events. I did the same exact route with my blimp but for only 3 days 0hrs. It only gave 33,000 miles, so I'm interested in how many miles you get when she finishes her marathon.

I think you can get two job refreshes from the airport, you open it and you get new jobs, and I'm pretty sure you get new jobs by closing it too. Edit: new York is closed! Had to open Boston for my Aeroeagles to detour through to get to Miami, and my sequoias will have to wait to go to new York or go through London and skip to Chicago to get to LA.
I'll keep that in mind for the next event with mystery parts (although scrolling through 15 class 3 airports fully upgraded with dozens of layovers usually takes the 5 minutes needed for refresh!)
I've been using this trick for a while and haven't yet had closing the airport also refresh the jobs list; unless I'm very unlucky it's only when you open the airport.
I thought Miami was going to finish about a half hour ago ... Not I discover there is still 12 more hours to go! LOL

It's hit and miss for getting 2 refreshes during one 4 min job cycle, I'm sure there is more to it. Also my ID is Train 2000 (forgot to add space between)
Just closed Caracas which I was going to use as another place for my Aeroeagles but after realizing it didn't make any difference, I closed it. Before I closed it, my sequoia needed Seoul jobs but there weren't any. After I closed Caracas, two jobs were ready to go to Seoul.
Well I'll be damned, the game must just really hate me. I've been drawn into a computer mod for minecraft that uses lua. PP may well suffer in the coming weeks. So many games coming out over the next few months, going to make studying very hard.
Please note that I did not get heavily into playing PP until after I had finished my thesis revisions and submitted the final version to the Graduate College. Otherwise I'd have a bit of explaining to do... coastcat, newly minted M.S.
Exactly! Ready to move onto the next event... Next city should be class 1 since we are doing class 2 & it was class 3 before that.
