Alright I'll try this when I get back thanks for the input I'll be sure to get back with results

Edit: So far so good these are the things i noticed
-Its amazing what closing so many class 2 airports does (besides Miami of course)
-I realized i still have equinox lol ill get rid of those first i suppose?
-The pearljets are about 50mph faster than the Aeros or is speed not a factor?
-Also can i add chicago to the LA to Shanghai route?
-Is it smart to fully upgrade my Aero since its the last class 2 i unlock?
-When i go through the route should i be filling it to get to the next place or should i be doing the layaway
-Last thing how many planes should i be having?

also this game is so fun haha

Just checked my stats. Average daily revenue has dropped from 1 million to 300k. Yup, not playing PP like I was. Of course one look at my iPhone battery at the end of the day shows that.

Yes the equinox should go to the hangar before the Pearjets.

Speed is a factor. Faster flights mean you can send jobs out faster but keep in mind that faster planes cost more per trip. It's a trade off, pay more to send more or pay less to take a little bit longer. If you don't want to have to check in nonstop, it is better to fly slower and cheaper.

I use Chicago in my route which I described in a previous post on this thread. It works well for me and the best thing you can do is try it out and see if you like it. After all you are building your own airline and you should create something you enjoy. In my opinion, the profit isn't worth the boring monotonous route, but if you build an airline you like, the game will be more attractive and the profit will be there. You can't mess up, so try things out and see what you like. All you have to lose is time and that's the point of a game.

As for working your route, again just try different things and go with your favorite, here's what to keep in mind:
The number one objective in every flight is to move your cargo closer to their final destination. Moving them away is a loss of gas(MONEY).
As long as you move closer to the final city you cannot mess anything up, even if you layover stuff, eventually those jobs will reach their spot and make money.

This makes layovers very useful. Let's say you are in Seoul with an aeroeagle range upgraded. Instead of grabbing only jobs for Los Angeles, grab jobs for Chicago and Mexico City as well. You can fill your plane up faster this way and start moving towards North America. Once full, fly to Tehran and make those jobs layovers. Since you will also have other planes do this same thing from other cities like Tokyo shenghai or Beijing, you will have plenty of layover in Tehran, so you will be able to organize the jobs and collect enough destined for the same final city. This makes it super easy to achieve that 25% bonus. All that is left is to fly to that city. Then starting from LA, the operation is a mirror image, using New York as a hub city. That is how my airline is set up, it works for me and you might like it but you can set up something similar anywhere. Also there are even more diverse operations out there and people have posted on this thread about how to set them up.

Just try out different layouts, and have fun. Cookie cutter is going to produce but there's nothing more rewarding than building something you came up with.

    - A lot of players prefer increased capacity over speed.
    - Only upgrade your range to connect very far airports you like. I didn't upgrade my Aeros (I think) because I used SA > Asia route. Save up for Fogbusters. They cost 120 bux if you build them using parts.
    - As much as you can handle :)

I WOULD have got to #3 if I had continued playing! lol. Typically, the one time I want to dedicate a lot of time into the game for an event and I find a social life. Also spending a lot of time looking for a new car seeing as how I drive for a living and my current car has had it's day. So - hopefully buying a new car in a few hours time!!

    I havn't played PP since yesterday now, clutching onto 7th place. Current standings;

    1 - 3,093
    2 - 2,261 (Faye) - well done!
    3 - 2,247
    4 - 2,046
    5 - 1,880
    6 - 1,532
    7 - 1,408 (me)
8 - 1,401 (soon to be me I would imagine!)
    9 - 1,359
    10 -1,327

I did the math and figured out that with constant play, I can deliver 260-270 jobs per hour (with 2-4 mins free to watch TV every job cycle (so about 35 mins on the phone and 25 mins watching TV). If I did that for the whole 8 hours of advertising, I'd of delivered 2,100 or so jobs! Not saying I'll do that... but I could :) Certainly want to finish in the top 10 though.

I tried a dual route between LA - Bejing and Rio - Seoul but found it to be more tedious and less enjoyable. It also required a lot more effort to keep it all running smoothly. I prefer to focus on one primary route, using it to it's full potential!

Sounds like you're enjoying / will be enjoying yourself there Faye! :p

Sorry - I just didn't expect to see your name in the top 10 after you said you'd be taking it easy :)

Your iPhone battery actually lasts until the end of the day?!!?

The way I play this game? Slow, enjoy, and easy... I open cities that I want... I used the planes that I liked... And don't care about level... And wait for a global event with rare planes :D

Just sharing my two bux... ;)

I didn't like the Fogbusters that much. They fill up so quickly and you feel like you've run out of space too soon, cuz you have more than 8 jobs going to the same destination. I took Fogbusters out of my fleet. Right now I have Aeroeagles, Sequoias and Cyclones. The Cyclones can take 12 and I sometimes find it challenging to fill those too. So the 6 and 8 capacity are sweet spots for me.

I don't know how you figure out how many jobs you deliver per hour. Math is really not my thing. :-/

I'm still taking it easy with Miami. It only looks like I'm working it because everyone else is slacking!!! Compare Miami with Chicago. Chicago's #1 spot had over 10,000 jobs. Miami's 3,000+ jobs in the #1 spot is a low number.
I've been playing quite a bit Mafia Wars, there are always "limited time" events over there too (yes, plural, overlapping limited time events so we can play 24/7 and have no social life). BTW, someone else shot up to #2, and I've dropped down to #3.

One of the best purchases I made was a car charger for my iPhone. A friend of mine suggested it after she learned I would be traveling and using the Maps app for navigation ... because she did the same and told me it really drains the battery. Now I keep my phone charged all the time while I'm driving. My husband thinks it's ridiculous when I take the time to plug it into the charger for a short 3-5 minute car ride. It all adds up and helps offset all these battery-draining iPhone games. :)

I've lost the quote in this TA app, but whoever was looking for advice don't buy the Fogbusters, there's a 99% chance you'll regret it; they're horribly inefficient and fantastically outmatched by the Seqioua which you unlock two levels after them, and the Seq is cheaper to buy.

Just my two and a half thousand bux ;) Ba dum dum tsch!

    Special parts/planes

Can you only win special parts and planes in global events? Or do they sometimes randomly pop up in the market?

I've only seen rare planes & parts in the global event. Have never seen them pop up in the Market.

The early levels are monotonous, keep delivering jobs and save up your coins & Bux, you will need both for buying airports and buying/upgrading planes. The game picks up in the teen levels and gets better after level 20.

Try to fill up your planes with jobs going to the same destination so you'll get the 25% cash bonus.

I might just be getting lucky, but so far today every one of my 20 planes have had 2 or 3 bux jobs on them, that's easily 300 bux each time. Whaaaaa....

The game says my average daily revenue is 1.5 million, but that is low, as I can usually buy a new plane slot each day (3-4 million). Since the trip between each of my cities takes about 30 minutes, I usually try to check in every hour or so and it might take 2 job refreshes to fill all my Sequoias and get them in the air, but most of the time I only bother to get 2/3 of them in the air with the remaining planes almost filled to jump start the process for the next cycle.

A single job from Lima to Tokyo is 1715 each, or 8 bux. Lima to Mumbai is 1202 each. When I set up this route, I looked for the straightest, longest line possible. I have contemplated adding Los Angeles as a 5th city on my route, but I am not sure about the pricing on those jobs yet.

    Either way, good luck!

**Edit: Just used the calculator over on therustysnowman.com. My route may have a lower profit per hour than the NA->Asia route, but you earn more per trip. Since I check in less often than some, my longer route meets my needs more than the quicker NA-> Asia route, and all 3 legs of my route are ~25 minutes.

Very much true but I did enjoy my Fogbusters :). What I saved from not upgrading Aeroeagles I spend on Fogbusters. It enabled me to make that NA jump to Europe. The Sequoias didn't work for me back then. I wanted to move the bux jobs fast.

Anyone have success in using Cloudliners in their game? They're too fast for me lol. Trying a relaxed approach at PP :)

I'm back on pocket planes after 44 days of not playing. Reason being is school started back up so I've been pretty busy. So what have I missed? We still dominating the events?

Sounds like that route works out perfectly then, especially with the ~25m per leg, very nice!

I remember buying the Fogbusters and I tried using them as the main planes with my Aeroeagles feeding them. Sadly I got bored of waiting for the Fogbusters and started sending the feeders to deliver jobs and the whole plan flew out the window :p

A little saddened that I haven't played with a cloudliner yet, but this Seq plan is working out so perfectly. I might have been able to run the Cloudliners with feeders the past few months but now I'm going to be back at university the Seq plan is going to be a saving grace. I might play around with Cloudliners in the slots beyond 32 later on..
