Yes I agree that seeing people you know makes for healthy competition ... then you'll know when you need to step up your game. :D

I'm number 10 with 790 jobs. Usually I feel good just getting in the top 200. Maybe it is because I'm sick today and playing lots of PP.

For the past day I've been roaming around #55-65 place. My goal was to be in the top 300 because I came 495th in Wellington and around 1000th in all of the other events I've been in (every one since London) To be in the place I am in is not what I expected, I was expecting to be in the 200-300 range. Not complaining though :) If I can get into the top 50 tomorrow that will be great, I will most likely advertise so I can start getting my planes filled faster.

I bet you can make the Top 50, there's still one more day till the event ends. How many planes do you have devoted to delivering jobs to Kinshasa? Of course more jobs can be delivered if you run a plane between Kinshasa and a city that is nearby.
I prolly won't make much more progress, going to bed soon and have a full day with the inlaws tomorrow. No biggie, I've already met the 50 job minimum and can stop anytime.

Im trying to spread out my fleet into the european region after starting in north america. What do you guys think is a good route to build in europe with possible expansion later to asia and so on? Im only at level 13 if that gives you some idea of what resources i have at the moment.. Any help from you experts out there? :)

NY to London is a good start.

It shouldn't be long before you reach Level 14 and can buy Pearjets. A 3x range upgraded Pearjet can make the hop from NY to London. Don't get too attached to the Pearjets, you will quickly move on to better planes as you level up. At level 16, you'll be able to buy the Aeroeagle (which can also do NY-London with a 3x range upgrade).

I'm partial to this NA-Asia route:
    NY <> London/Paris <> Tehran <> Shanghai/Beijing/Seoul/Tokyo
however there are other similar alternative routes, and you can bypass some cities later on with the bigger planes.

    Edited to add:
Just wanted to point out that a Pearjet cannot make the Tehran-Seoul or Tehran-Tokyo hop.
Tehran-Shanghai and Tehran-Beijing are OK in an Pearjet.

    Edited to correct pre-coffee mistake

How do people like Faye level up so fast. I feel like I've been playing forever and I'm only level 18

I found it very slow from about 14 to 22 (or whenever you unlock the Fogbuster) I had zero plan so my planes were just going everywhere and I was earning pittance. It sped up a little once I had fogbusters because I used set routes and feeders, but it was still pretty slow and I ended up doing with Aeroeagles what Pez did with Seq. once I could buy Seq I shot from level 24 to level 30 in about a week. Basically, you need to define a nice long route and have as many planes as possible doing 25% runs. I'd suggest using naught but Aeroeagles and then naught but Seq on routes from South America to Asia, there's a post on this or the other page about using Aeroeagles for North to Asia.

Nailed it! That's how I managed to make it to level 34 so fast. Pick a group of jets that don't cost a lot to fly and a group of cities in a straight line and go. However, I name my planes as the two cities they go between (LA2NY, NY2LO, for example) and those are the only two cities that plane stops at. When NY2LO lands in NY, I load it up with jobs going to London and beyond (Tehran, Seoul) and get it in the air to London. I try to hit the 25% bonus as much as possible, but I have noticed that as long as you are moving jobs closer to their destinations, even if you aren't making the $$ on that go between flight, it eventually pays off big. Using layovers can pay off, big time.

Does anyone think that the cargo in Africa is... odd? Or atleast relates to the problems going in Africa. Ove been getting jobs to Kinshasa without blue writing and its mostly medical devices or vaccines.

(I miss this thread. Lighting struck near my house and fried my Internet so...)

I also had a weird dream. NimbleBit did an event in Paris called "Fancy Dinner". Prizes were a Concorde, Concorde+100 bux, free effect, and free effect+10 bux. I dont if Im playing this game too much, too little, Im crzy, or I can see the future. Opinions on this...?

    choosing which types of planes?

Hello. I'm new in here. May I ask, which types of planes such as M, C or P is better??

I believe that choice is more about personal preference. I chose M planes but two of my M planes is just the same as two paired planes, one p and one c. I just feel like M's allow me more freedom building my airline and I don't worry about if I have my p's and c's balanced.

If there is a benefit, I'm not aware of it. I guess there is an argument that maybe having p & c is more versatile for global events like Kinshasa at the moment which only has passengers considered for the goal. But I was in the top twenty of this competition while I was haphazardly delivering jobs with all my M planes.

I have planes going in between new York-Chicago, Buenos Aires-Rio de Janeiro, and London-Paris giving each other layovers for Kinshasa. I have about 7 other planes flying around Europe and sometimes Asia waiting and picking up jobs. I have a Pearjet-P and a Aeroeagle-P that goes to the layover cities and picks up tons of Kinshasa jobs. I have some Aeroeagle-Ms that go to London and Paris where there are some layover cargo for Kinshasa.

I started an advertising campaign in Kinshasa, so far so good. Being in the position I am in is great for what I got on the past, but I still want to rank higher.

On another note, I think the next event is going to be a class 1 airport in the Finland, Sweden area, in somewhere like Cancun (Mexico), or maybe a small airport in Asia. But my biggest guesses are the first two.

The event in Kinshasa is a medical conference, and that event doesn't have any cargo that counts as jobs for the flight crew.

There are lots of outgoing cargo like medical devices and medical supplies. They don't count as flight crew jobs though.

I would love it if they'd have the next event in Paris and if the prize would be the Concorde!

I've been wanting a Paris event for a long time, It would be great to have one (especially with a Concorde) but I think it will be a class one airport next time.

That's exactly how I would play it (pairs of nearby airports stocking up on layovers) if I had the time to manage punting planes back and forth all day. Not having as much time to devote toward this, I decided to go the slow and less optimized route which takes my planes anywhere from 1/2 hour to 1 1/2 hour to reach their destination. Then I don't have to check in as frequently.

I wouldn't mind the next event taking place at a Class 1 airport ... then I can put my blimps back in flight and really take my time with the event. :D
My blimps couldn't reach Kinshasa from London/Paris.

I really wish I grabbed some mystery parts from the London event, but at that time I was all class 1 planes except for 3 Birchcrafts, so I didn't get enough jobs for mystery parts (300 jobs.) I also didn't know there were mystery parts until I got one and got a blimp engine (that's all I got :( ) Hopefully there is some plane as the reward for winning next event.

I'm getting closer to level 20 (1/5 through level 19), so I'm wondering if I should go for a Fogbuster or two until I get Seqouias or just skip the Fogbusters?

    My airline looks like this:

    12 plane slots,

    2 Mohawks (1 P, 1 C, for class one events)
    4 Birchcrafts (2 P, 2 M)
    1 Equinox (P)
    1 Blimp
    1 Pearjet (P)
    3 Aeroeagles (1 P, 2 M)

I also have somewhere around 150 bux
