So you were the one that pass me on the last day. That was freaking ridiculous. You put over 2k jobs in a 24 hours span. I finished w/12.4k jobs for the second spot.
Chasing you was really fun. Sleep must of interrupted you, I think I put in another 1000 after you quit.
Nope, blimp part was from mystery package, Just took awhile... Fully Blimped up and it's on it's way from Nome - Wellington.
I like the idea of using the blimp for the Nome-Wellington run! Stylish! I will paint one up like the Baron's blimp in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Heh. I was happy with my 58th place this past event. I was at 6th but that was before people started playing... QAKurt
looks like some people will need to put more effort in this event, instead of the usual 5 we need 25 jobs to qualify for the prize
And TouchArcade is in first place with 92k jobs - 2nd place has only 15k. Kinda a unfair competition - I think they should cap the amount of people in a crew. Would make things a little more competitive I guess?
I think it is a little late now. Imagine if they capped it at 5000 and you were 5001 and suddenly no longer in touch arcade? And if the top 10 crews were all maxed and suddenly you could not get in a winning or top 10 crew? That would likely tick off a lot of people.
I had a thought to make the individual events more attractive. Right now, the reward for delivering 1000 jobs is a mere 15 bux. That doesn't seem like much of a reward for the work involved; I can deliver 2 bux jobs for more than that. There should be something significant for the achievement of 1000 jobs for each of these events, which will take hours of gameplay to achieve. I propose adding a mystery part to each reward. It should be for a rare plane, or perhaps also for a class 3 plane, but certainly not for a Bearclaw... There are 45 events, so that gives you 15 full planes (or 45 random parts, depending on whether each mystery is fixed in advance or random) for full completion. There are 9 rare planes currently in the game; it would be cool if some new ones were added that could only be earned via event completion (versus hammering global event cities for mystery parts). These planes would become the rarest of the rare, and a true prize for the dedicated player who finishes these events.
Anybody know which plane can use in place of the sea knight for shuttling cargo around and picking up bux jobs? It is good at what it does, but now that I've expanded over to Europe and Africa, it's range is causing problems because I have to do a long detour to the south and then up the east coast just to get to Africa for the Sea Knight. At least until I can level up and put an airport between Caracas and Recife. Level 22 btw, less than 200k xp from 23.
I know this is an old post, but I'm just saying that I can't get to it anymore as it sends me to Google Drive or something,
The flightcrew system needs to be checked. I'm using 2 blimps for the Vancouver event hauling from LA. It's a slow go. I know I've only made about 6 hauls or 48 jobs delivered altogether. I got online to check my progress and it's showing that I have delivered 220 jobs for #toucharcade and number #27 in the flight crew. Don't get me wrong, I like being that high on the charts, but just wondering how accurate the system is.
That is a very good idea! For players (like me) with limited wifi access and hence missing out on many global events, an alternate (offline) option to optain rare planes is very welcome! In addition to Andrwsc's idea, perhaps mystery parts can also pop up randomly in job lists, giving offline players a lot more incentive to keep grinding. Please please do not forget us! Thanks Nimblebit!
I finally managed to place 2 Blimps, both doing the Vancouver-Los Angeles route. WOW! These are very nice! It takes 34 minutes to travel from Vancouver to Los Angeles, this slower pace suits me and I'm making a nice profit too! So how are you guys routing all your Blimps? Are you guys adding more of the smaller cities between your big class 3 cities to help get your blimps across? In North America, I've got Vancouver (for the event only), Los Angeles and New York. My blimp won't reach from Los Angeles to New York.
I'm also a fan of Andrwsc's suggestion of giving exclusive parts/planes as prizes for completing the regular events. As a side note, it's kinda cool to have the current global event in Vancouver as that's where I live.
@NimbleTim: I never received an award for the London Olympics despite delivering around 160 jobs. Only picked up a special delivery bonus part enroute. Can you please check my username: tamtamtamify registered under toucharcade. Thanks!
In north America I have a blimp, an Airvan-P and a Mohawk-M running to and from Vancouver, Minneapolis, New York, and Chicago. My airports are all in Europe but I bought New York so my Pearjet brings over jobs for The event from Madrid.
All I did was opened up all my Class II airports in North America with a Blimp full route. This to me is a good strategy because the Blimp make good profit, and loose less than any other. Its cheap to fly as well. Though it is not as good as the Sequoia, its a cheap more alternative route. All in all, Blimps are GREAT. You dont even have to check in as much. The one thing I do need is a good ratio. I have 9 blimps as of right now. I need to step up my game up because I have 11 airports and only 9 blimps with only four blimps. (Donations are welcomed.) I recommend people use blimps as either a sub-route, or as a main route. Your call. Good luck to everyone!
Anyone given any thought about the flight crew challenge score being based on the say the top 1000 players score in a particular flight crew? This would mean that TouchArcade's advantage due to sheer numbers alone will be limited, and also will allow people who are already part of toucharcade not being too adversely affected.
