Level 28 for Cloudliners, just got access this morning. Waiting for the parts though - 435 bux for a cloudliner. 73 each part.

I'm hoping the cloudliner gives allows me to earn enough per flight to get the 20K award.

Hmm. Blimp or Sea Knight for my Event delivering, when it is in a Class 1 airport? I need to get rid of one...

You don't need a CloudLiner for the 20k - I got that with a Sequioa, flying 10 jobs from Sydney to LA. Make sure you got no Bux Jobs, and all the 10 jobs are about 1800 - 2000 coins. You make one last stop at NY, then fly to LA - and Achievement :)

Oh god my parents are going to kill me if they find this out, I have just spent £64.95 on 10,000 bux. Although I am only on level 15, and about to move onto level 16 today or tomorrow, and I have 14 planes at the moment, I have just about worked out that it should give me 4 more planes, which should take my tally up to 18.

Who else agrees that you should not need to level up to buy new cities, or adding more cities per level, because I think you should be able to buy a new city as long as you have enough money for it.

Sometimes the part will be there without actually being seen in the terminal. I almost missed a couple of part that way.

Awesome, blimp can go from LA to Tokyo with just a single class 1 airport.

Has anyone here got the award for "make a 20,000 profit on a single flight".

Can you please tell me how you did it? I just assumed it would be with a cloudlinder from LA to Toyko, but it's not quite enough (aboutt 600 coins short).

I've opened up melbourne and thought I could collect LA passengers from Melbourne, take then to tokyo and then transport them to LA via the cloudliner.

    Thanks

My award for delivering 10,000 passengers is stuck at 99 %, even though I've flown 10,023 passangers. Any tips on how to fix this without resetting awards (which would cause me to redo some of the deliver 100 jobs to desolate places)?

I used a Sequoia for this award. Move p/c from Honolulu meant for Tokyo to Seoul. Load them into a Sequoia (10 p/c) and fly the short distance from Seoul to Tokyo -> unlock.

It's okay how you did it, but do LA - Shanghai and stop there. Then make the plane take off again to do a Shanghai - Tokyo, but with the people/cargo you already have. The benefit will be amazing ;)

    Hi everyone,

I'm new here, but have been playing Pocket Planes almost since the day it was released (and am a member of the Toucharcade group!), but really need some help.

I am just not good at strategizing and it has taken me forever to accrue over a million dollars. From reading some of the posts here, that is ridiculous because a lot of you seem to be able to make that in a few days. I have quite a few bux saved up, mostly because I am not buying anymore aircraft or parts because frankly I have no idea what to do with the bigger aircraft. When I did purchase one (Tetra), it just never made any money.

Here's my information, and if you can help me, I'd really appreciate it.

-I'm at the beginning of level 28
    -I started in Asia
    -I have 15 planes in service: 3 Aeroeagle-Ps, 2 Aeroeagle-Ms, 5 Equinox-Ps, 1 Equinox-M, 4 Birchcraft-Ms
    -In my hangar, I have a Sea Knight, Spaceship, Mohawk-P, Pearjet-P, Equinox-M
-I have $1,233,981 as of now and 1,151 bux
    -My cities are:
    • Tokyo
    • Seoul
    • Beijing
    • Xian
    • Shanghai
    • Guangzhou
    • Taipei
    • Manila
    • Bangkok
    • Singapore
    • Jakarta
    • Dhaka
    • Bangalore
    • Mumbai
    • Delhi
    • Tehran
    • Istanbul
    • Algiers
    • Madrid
    • Paris
    • Berlin
    • London
    • Boston
    • NY
    • Chicago
    • Dallas
    • Miami
    • San Francisco
    • LA
    • Mexico City
    • Bogota
    • Salvador
    • Rio de Janeiro

Do you guys have any tips on what larger aircraft to purchase or a more efficient strategy for me? I'd like to start making some good money here. My feeling is I have way too much concentration in the Asian cities, but when I closed down a few Asian airports and expanded into Africa and a little more into South America, I wasn't making as much.

Also, I don't bother with the level 1 airports as it just gets too confusing after awhile. Should I be opening some back up and operating more Mohawks?

    Thanks for any help!

The only planes that are worth it in my opinion are Kangaroos, then Birchcraft, then Aeroeagles, then Sequoias. Cyclones and Cloudliners are good but you should only have a few of them.

Also, you have way too many airports. Amassing airports works for the first 20 levels or so, but it ends up taking way to much effort to fill the larger planes later on. Also, as the novelty of the game wears off you'll want to spend less time micromanaging and switch from the short hops to long distance flights. What a lot of players end up doing is using the layover system to establish a feeder system where smaller planes feed passengers/cargo to certain cities on a local scale, and then larger planes carry them to their final destinations on another continent.

Pezmage's Sequoia method is pretty popular for players in the higher levels. I'm using a slightly adjusted version of it. Which I will describe below.

Basically you have one main route, running between South America and East Asia. The airports used are all fully upgraded class 3 airports including:

    East Asia Cities:
    Beijing
    Seoul
    Tokyo
    Shanghai

    Transfer Cities:
    Mumbai
    Kinshasa

    South America Cities:
    Rio de Janeiro
    San Paulo
    Lima
    Buenos Aires

All 10 cities are fully upgraded class 3 airports. The planes I use are 21 Sequoia Ms, 1 Cloudliner P, and 1 Cloudliner C.

The Sequoias are fully weight upgraded, and have 1 range upgrade each.
The Cloudliners are fully weight upgraded.

Planes in the EA cities pick up any P/C headed for South America, then fly to Mumbai and layover all their P/C, then they pick up P/C to one SA city for the 25% bonus and fly there through Kinshasa (not stopping there). Then they pick up anything headed for EA and fly to Kinshasa, drop off all their cargo, and refill with one EA city for the 25% bonus, then fly there through Mumbai.

A note: Cloudliners can skip the transfer cities sometimes but you have to upgrade their range.

Pretty simple, and this way you don't have to deal with dedicated feeder planes and advertising costs.

My average daily revenue is ~1.5 million coins, each of my Sequoias are running at about 7,000 coins/hr, and the Cloudliners are at 15,000 coins/hr. I don't play too often, just refill my planes 4-5 times a day.

Thanks for your advice, umbrasquall. Since all of my planes had landed, I shut down a bunch of airports and kept open (or opened) the ones you recommended and upgraded as many as I could.

I also cut my fleet down and already I've seen $3000+ flights, which is not something I'm used to. It's going to be a long time before I can accrue that many Sequoias though, so I'm making due with the Aeroeagles and Birchcrafts for now and one Cloudliner I bought. That one is still taking forever to fill and doesn't seem profitable yet, but I'm assuming it will be once I can build a better fleet and upgrade the airports even further.

It does take away from the variety of the cities, but right now I'm interested in accruing coins and bux. I do wish there was a game that was similar but with better graphics, because I love aviation and this is my kind of game since I stink at flight simulators.

BTW, how do you add friends on here? I would swap or give away some Huey parts I have.
