Really the only downside to the blimp for that playstyle is short range(compared to class 2/3's) and only 4 total spots for jobs. I feel like a mix of Sequoias and Blimps is the best for infrequent players like you and me
Golden pickle Last couple of days I keep finding something called a golden pickle in my airports. It's always a bus item, and most intriguingly, the picture is a blurred out yellow thing on a podium. Is it supposed to be raunchy so they blurred it out? LOL! What in heck is it?
Sorry, I know it's a pixelated image. I was wondering WHY it was when nothing else is... Which implied it was a "toy" or something. But it's a family game, so... Well, that's the kind of thing that perks my ears up. Haha, something else funny: just noticed that my typing above got changed to "bus item". I'm pretty sure what I meant to type was cargo item. Prolly mistyped and the autocorrect did its usual wild misunderstanding of what I meant to say.
Yeah same, I reckon I'll put one or two into action in the next few days see how they go! Tell me how you get on with it though
I've put two into action so far. They're very cool. I love how they take up the whole terminal window. I have a nice shot of one of my Blimps in the air with a Blimp myserty part onboard. They are SO cheap to fly. If you're not in a hurry (cause they are VERY slow), these things are so great for short feeder trips. I've phased out a couple birchcraft and will probably replace the 'Roos next. I don't remember exactly, but I believe that the Blimps will save me several hundred coins per trip shuttling between Beijing<->Seoul<->Tokyo. I probably won't use them in North America though, since they can't make the LA<->NY leg non-stop. But, as others have mentioned, they'll be great for events to Class 1 airports.
First post Hi, I've been reading this thread for quite a while and I have a few questions. What are you talking about when you say "Mystery Gifts"? What do you do with your spare planes? I have the following in my Hangar: - 4 birchcraft 2P/2C - 1 Airvan C - 2 Kangaroo 1P/1C - 1 Sea Knight - 2 Equinox 1P/1C - 1 starship - 2 Pearjet M/P - 1 Fogbuster P And how do you think my setup is? I am trying to do the Seqouia Strat. I'm Level 23 Airports: Lima, Rio, Buenes Aires, Sao Paulo, Kinshasa, Mumbai, Beijing, Seoul, Tokyo and shanghai Planes: 4 Pearjet P 5 Pearjet C 2 Aeroeagle 1P/1C 1 Fogbuster C 3 Seqouia 2M/1C
The Mystery Parts are part of the current London Flight Crew event. You'll find them listed with the P/C going to London. Jobs going to London are blue colored. Mystery Parts will show up in yellow, you can't miss it! Scoop it up, deliver it to London and you'll receive one Blimp part. I don't think there is any limit to how many planes you can have in your Hangar, so you can hold on to all of those spare planes. I'd keep the Birchcraft, Kangaroo and SeaKnight for future flight crew events in class 1 or class 2 cities. Keep the Starship as a rare collectable. Give away the rest if they can benefit a newer player. It's so amusing seeing your airport list because I had that exact same route at some time. I like to change up my main routes so have sold many of those cities (Lima, Rio, Sao, BA, Kinshasa, Mumbai). I think you have a perfectly viable route using those cities and don't need to change a thing if it suits your playing style. And it will work with the Sequoia Method. As for planes ... I'd retire the Pearjets.
Thanks for the swift reply, I am now going to open up London to try and gets some blimps. I'll also keep most of those planes and I am slowly getting those pearjets out of the way to bring in sequoias. -Ben
You may also find it efficacious to buy Paris (or other airport near London) and run a small plane between the two. It takes a bit longer to travel NY-London or Rio-London. Happy hunting! I'm still in the process of converting my fleet to Sequoias, it's a slow process.
Does anyone have any good strategies for getting mystery parts. i have done about 300 London jobs but i have only come across one mystery part..
Yes. Check all your airports when the jobs refresh. You can look for the bright yellow box at the gate or browse the list of jobs for the city. I think others have had success with this method. I don't do it myself (too lazy to stalk them by scrolling around the map after each refresh) but have had decent luck just by doing my usual thing (25 parts, but can only build 4 blimps).
Just another question, If I have a Job that was for a personal event in a layover and the event finishes then I send it to that airport does it still count as 1/1000?
Yes! I have three blimp bodies and nothing else so far. Would happily trade one for an engine. My GC handle is: drummingcraig
I know that it's already been mentioned, but how does the job to each city ratio work when you buy more airports? I was thinking of using pezmages sequoia method from newyork to Beijing and then rio de jeneros to shanghai, but realized that there was a terrible job distribution available. Does this mean I should upgrade all the airports I have, or that this just won't work?
Loving the blimp so far. I have four just running lazy circles moving things from place to place. Kind of fun and relaxing.
