That helps Kiven. I just need to save up now...8 plane fleet and Osaka is my largest. half my fleet can't even reach Ulan Bator. I've got Vladivostok, and the rest of Japan except for Tokyo. Ironic...So guess i'll be helping out for the next asian event.
let's say you're in new york with a 2Cargo plane standing by, the load available in new york is 2 pieces of cargo. 1 goes to chicago and 1 goes to boston. ideally, you want all the cargo to be going in one city but in this case it's two different cities. what i do is load both of them on plane and go to the nearest city of the two. drop off one load and hopefully pick up another going to the second city. that's basically it. =) you dont choose two routes initially but choose one then load up again then choose the next leg of the trip. edit: i do this to maximize time as idle planes dont earn anything =) just make sure you're earning per trip or its not worth it. hope that is clearer lol
following on this idea.. i have 1 plane dedicated to each major hub, whose sole purpose is to more or less get rid of the layovers... by grouping them together when possible. i think it makes things less chaotic.
great tip. works awesome if you find yourself with a wide network and not all flights capable of flying from one end to the other. i think some of the previous posts mentioned this as well.
I'm jealous! I'm level 6 with 4 planes (they're somewhat upgraded) and a good amount of airports. Do you upgrade your planes or just buy better ones as you go?
I upgraded the planes worth upgrading (those with capacity of 3 or above, though I think at the beginning I also upgraded the engines for those with capacity of 2 or above). I am at level 10 though... so... I guess it's a question of relativity. I'm not sure if you're revferring to me, but I have multiple 187MPH in my fleet (Airvan), I have another Anan which only has 176 MPH speed but somehow is netting me 3.6k per hour. *shrug* go figure, but I guess it's because this plane is attached to my London hub...
So here is a question. How do events work actually? I have dropped blue labeled people and cargo off in Calgary, but it is still not listed in my progress page with the events progress.
Downloaded it earlier tonight-love how the graphics are styled like Tiny Tower's. Very quick to assign jobs to planes, buy planes and parts and upgrade them. Painting the planes is so simple. Already upto about lvl 5. So much fun and as a fan of Tiny Tower, Pocket Planes is a great game to download and play.
Did a search yesterday and found this forum (like the site and listen to the podcast so worked out well). Saw all the comments about joining TouchArcade so I did. Right now at 84 jobs and grinding away. I have one of those jobs where there can be occasional down times so today is a good day to help the cause.
I really enjoyed Tiny Tower and played for a few months before burning out. I will be curious to see with this new community element and winning things how much longer this works for me. I want to get all over the world whereas with Tiny Towers I never had a desire to get to any particular floor level. This could be part of my gaming rotation for quite some time. A lot of great games coming out on this platform right now. I will have to give them some money at some point because they are giving me hours of entertainment. Don't even care about the buxs but want to support their great games.
